Frank Diernhammer (1931–2019) built a private archive of male portraiture — surfers, models, hustlers, and porn stars — photographed purely for his own pleasure. Though many images circulated uncredited or misattributed, the surviving work reveals a prolific and gifted beefcake photographer whose vision spans the pre‑Stonewall era through the sexual revolution of the 1970s.
