Fanfic that takes place before episode 7 where Gangle and Zooble are talking about how the adventures are much more bearable now that they’re friends, and in the middle of talking about how they’re starting to see the advantages of their avatar Zooble abruptly re-affirms that they still want to get out of there more than anything, as if they’re scared of how comfortable they’ve gotten, and it starts a new conversation about the prospect of leaving the circus where Gangle gets more and more uncomfortable until she admits that she isn’t actually sure if she wants to leave or not, and Zooble is baffled and asks her why she wouldn’t want to go back to her real life after spending so long in kidzbop clown hell with people who make her feel like shit because they can’t imagine ever feeling like that, and Gangle tries to explain and has more and more details of her life coaxed out of her by Zooble’s questioning, how terrible and hopeless it felt, that she couldn’t envision a happy future for herself outside and it was as if her life was over already, and Zooble is sad for her and angry but can’t say that Gangle is wrong to feel that way, those weren’t their experiences after all and they aren’t living her life, but also Gangle being a lost cause or “deserving” to be in the circus cannot be true but Gangle just can’t seem to bring herself to believe Zooble when they try to convince her otherwise and in that mixture of emotions in Zooble a fit of desperation emerges and they make a “deal” with Gangle that if when the opportunity to escape presents itself that she has to take it and they have to meet eachother and in turn Zooble promises that they’ll do something together to get Gangle out of the pit she’s in, not sure what that will be but so insistent that it has to happen that Gangle is almost stunned into accepting the terms while internally very confused about why Zooble thinks she’s worthy of so much of their energy, especially when they’ve never “really” met, but those kinds of questions aren’t meant for times when the other party looks like they’re going to start crying so Gangle doesn’t ask them
