Okay so this relationship probably started at the hero licensing exam
You and Todoroki were in Class 1-A together and became friends after fighting each other during the sports festival. Shouto admired your strength and how you never seemed to give up. It when during the infamous Training Camp incident where he realized that he has a big fat crush on you when all he could think about was making sure you were safe.

Anyway, when it’s time for the Hero Licensing Exam, Todoroki plans to stay by your side the entire time and watch your back as you watch his. It’ll just be you two against the world, as it should be-
