&• this has probably already been done before but I just thought of a really fun modern au where eren's mom dies and his father leaves unannounced so he wakes up the next morning and the only ones in the house are mikasa and armin because armin stayed the night to keep his calm, and he goes to school and he can't focus for shit and he looks like he's gonna break down any second so Levi [ his professor ] pulls him aside and asks if he's okay and eren just blurts everything out because he's so distraught, so Levi sends him and mikasa home and the next day Levi offers to take them both in at least for now and it turns out he lives with the principal [ Erwin ] and one day eren accidentally calls one of them ' dad ' and he just freezes up and they're just ' okay son. '
