MY OPINION ON;

character in general: harry potter is a little asshole who just happened to be a good guy like?? could you imagine if harry was like fuck all this i’m just gonna be a death eater it would be a lot easier than trying not to be killed and trying not to get everyone else killed while i’m at it. shit would have been so real. but yeah man i dig harry he’s a pretty good protagonist i think.how they play them: i really like your harry!!! ; u ; he’s very much got the feel of “why the fuck is it always me why can’t it be somebody else” and of course you know my cedric likes to smooch his face so??? cLEARLY you’re doing something rightthe mun: lani is so sweet??? i met her through the snk fandom ( bc i played reiner ) and she was kind enough to make me a harry even though it made her nervous bc he’s like the main character and all and that’s super awesome. ; u ;

Okay so we know Eren’s a bit standoff-ish and has a hard personality. We learned this since he was even just a kid, given his father’s remarks towards his comment about Mikasa. Here’s where I get sort of irritated when people start talking about how Eren didn’t WANT to get to know her or anything, because what he says is “It depends on how she acts.” that is not a no, that is not a yes, yet it is still OPEN to the idea if their personalities work well together. This bit stays with him until the point he’s at currently. He is open to the idea of new friends and friendships yet generally none of them exceed anything beyond his stand with Armin and Mikasa in particular. He has gotten much closer with those of the 104th as he’s gotten to know them each individually pretty well and understand them to the extent of his current possibility with every situation that’s been offered to them. The group of them all have a bond that’d be difficult to break. 

This in mind, Eren keeps an open mind and will not crown you an annoyance or anything further until such is proven in his opinion. Even, so, given his relationship with Jean would be one where he first found him annoying and does EVEN STILL, but he does care and he knows he is TRYING and probably deep down does consider them fairly close friends, unadmittedly. 

He enjoys the company of other people, especially people can he can form a mutual understanding with, but again, as I said before nothing really exceeds the standpoint Armin and Mikasa have in his life. He had no classifications in regards to friends, no friends, no best friends, whatever. They’re all equal individuals, but it involves the level of closeness, experience, understanding and dedication he can share with another person. 

Friendship is something that REALLY means a lot to Eren, while he may not admit as such. He understands it mutual and works very hard for it, dedicates his entire true self involving it and is truly hurt when he does not receive this effort back, or is told the effort he did receive was nothing but a fabrication. He trusts easily and offers his all, is very open and doesn’t have much to hide. 

Still, he sort of clings to that foundation of trust. He was one lucky enough to gain not one but two amazing friends growing up and appreciates them so much, more than he’d ever admit. But, there is a flaw to every quality, and this is when he cannot be around such friends. He’s formed such a reliance upon them that without them he tends to lose some sort of self, attempts to cling to some sort of foundation. Some sort of guide or backup. I feel as though a lot of his confidence roots not from himself but with the people he trusts, so when he is alone, or placed in an environment far from them, he begins to feel insecure and will subconsciously attempt to put that ground back beneath his feet, often falling out of sorts if he’s unable.
