I personally think that the reason FL dolls are higher or same price on the aftermarket, despite relatively short wait times from company and the sheer abundance of these dolls, is because the FL side of the hobby is full of, caters to and encourages impulse buying. So in that weird side of the hobby, the whole “skip the wait time” works to get extra cash. I have never seen a group of impulse buyers like I have FL people. Not to mention they’re usually younger/less serious members who throwmoney

People in this hobby are so impatient these days. You can’t demand a refund because the post missed your arbitrary deadline you never verbalized with the seller. Once the post has it it’s out of my hands. Especially when you’re international. Maybe stop being cheap and buy the faster tracked option if it matters that much. I miss selling on DoA, etsy’s become a pain in the ass for this.

I used to admire Yukilovecomic (The Voice) and desperately want her to do one of my faceups. I had finally saved up the money, her commissions were open, we were talking about the faceup I wanted on my head and suddenly she comes back with… “Sorry my commissions are closed” I don’t think I have ever been treated so poorly by someone in the hobby. Don’t waste my time if your just gonna decide to back out. I will never try to commission her again. I suggest others be wary as well.

I never say anything on these blogs because my anxiety is absolutely awful, but I have to say something about this. I know who this is aimed seeing as you didn’t try very hard to hide it. They are on the banned list and they are a GOOD person. This is just truly disheartening. What has happened to you to make you so bitter? Do you even know her? Does liking nice things and working hard for them make you a bad person? Don’t be so quick to judge people from what you see on social media. You don’t know someone’s story or what they deal with based on some hobby posts. Not everything is out in the open for everyone to see. Most people are more private than that. Logical-ruse, you’re assuming so hard that you went off topic. Person anon was talking about (who is on the banned list, FYI admin, but they didn’t mention name I guess? Grey area) is constantly posting her new everything and she has won more than one doll prize including having enough connections in the doll world to get practically every rare thing (including an Enaibi doll) that she wants. All she has to do is ask and it’s disheartening to see when there’s tons of other people who have been looking for eons for something and she just has to hold out her hand and have it dropped in there. A lot of the high end alpaca wig makers like Fantyfoo and Candyfloss only release a few unique wigs every once in a while and she is usually the one who buys them up and takes a lot of chances from others. Then turns around and sells it. 

I’m with anon on not really understanding why she has as big of a following as she does. It’s not judgement, it’s pure confusion because I don’t see her really contributing? Unless I’m missing something somewhere or a blog she has or something. She seems like a really nice, bubbly happy person, but I can totally see where anon is coming from. I don’t think the image she gives off is very tailored because she knows she has a following so she doesn’t really have to think about it so she’s just really out going as a person.

And some people just have the personality type that they just like what is popular and that’s okay. To a lot of people it comes off “designer handbag”gy like you said but I think she just has the personality type that likes what is popular and likes to relate to people and make friends and all that happy shit. I can relate because I’m automatically attracted to things that are rare if I had as much money as she seemingly does I would be impulse buying my ass off too. >_> I also think a lot of us collect differently from her (as in we make characters and deep connections with a few of our dolls) and it almost seems personal watching her buy and sell and buy and sell.

TL;DR I get where you’re coming from anon (and for fuck’s sake both of you this blog is for steam jesus fucking christ get over yourself. ) She is a sweetheart. But it is annoying how it seems like she gets 70% of every one-off wig, extremely rare dolls and high end face up slots practically every month that people in the circle want and doesn’t really seem to do much with it after she gets it. Still waiting for a group shot from her lol 

Fun fact of the day it’s actually a totally natural subtle thing our brains do to not trust someone who is confident and out going :D But that doesn’t mean you get to use that as an excuse to not think about why you feel that way

So after a lot of consideration, I decided in order to be able to afford bjds, I’ll be selling myself. In a “time to donate plasma” kind of way. Any tips? I’ve donated blood before so I’m aware of the whole needles, iron, and hydration thing but any other tips would be useful. <3 I figure I could probably make about $40 with it per week if I donate twice, so even if only $10 or $5 goes towards it, after awhile, that’s a doll right there!

Ok but heres the deal….

Selling plasma is NOTHING like donating blood. The needle is HUGE, you can see the hole in it. You have to site there for hours constantly pumping a stress ball with your hand in the arm with the needle while the blood goes into the machine, spins and then pumps the blood back into your body. It’s really hard work and long and tiring. 

If you bruise, and you usually will and they are HUGE painful bruises, you cannot donate till it’s healed, which is why they alternate arms during the week.

Repeated selling of plasma will scar your arms badly for life. My mom has really bad scars on the inside of both her elbows from when we were in poverty and needed groceries badly.

It really should only be a persons last resort for purchasing something, there are much more lucrative and easier ways to make money I promise you.

Maybe find a craft you can do and sell? Never underestimate ppls willingness to buy stuff in this hobby.

But if you are dead set on this way of getting money for dolls I wanted you to go in knowing everything.

Yes, the needle is larger than the need they use to give you, say, your average vaccine, or a localized anesthesia, but it’s the normal size for a needle used to draw blood. When I donated, I didn’t need to squeeze anything, I simply sat in a chair for an hour-ish and played on my phone. I had a small bruise, but nothing worse than getting my blood drawn, and it did not leave a scar.

You really need to be careful when saying stuff like this, because you scare people for no reason about a procedure that is very safe, clean and pretty painless. Not sure why you’ve chosen to spread this kind of disinformation, or why you’re doing it so aggressively? But maybe consider calming down a tad.

Listen this is why gerrymandering is such a massive, massive problem down here in the south.

Texas has been slowly becoming a Latinx majority state for decades. You wouldn’t know it by the way Texas votes because gerrymandering exists. Rich southern conservatives always win the votes because of this. (Lack of decent education doesn’t help.)

Worst of all, they try to teach us in school that the federal government bullies the state by making the state submit its redistricting plans for approval before redistricting can take place.

In reality, it’s because the gerrymandering would get even worse if the state was allowed to do as it pleased.

Gerrymandering and voter suppression are why the south looks the way it does in elections. The south is poor and more diverse than a significant part of the rest of the country, and all of the marginalized people get thrown under the bus by the whole country and by both parties.
