@balm-sisters
happy holidays everyone!!
from the balm sisters <3
BURT'S BEES IS THE BALM! This is one of our personal favourites. It has a light citrusy, sweet berry scent and a lovely thick and waxy texture. It is not in any way shape or form oily or greasy. It applies smoothly and has a thick layer. Burt's is a bit on the pricey side, but deserves to be with its high standards and natural ingredients. Also, it is not tested on animals and is 100% natural. Over all we highly recommend it as a winter lip balm!
Peach Kiss: Babylips! While not a favourite of ours due to its unnatural ingredients, it is still a great, moisturizing balm. This one has a nudey pink tint, with the slightest shimmer. Its does keep to its word of softening lips, and doing it with a colourful flair. I do own multiple Babylips, but this one is my favourite because of its subtle peach scent and flavour. Out of all the Babylips I own, this is the one that I would most highly recommend.
Sorry for being inactive for a bit, we're back and booming! This balm is thick, creamy and long lasting. The reason we have 2 flavours posted is because we both have different ones. Carmen's first reaction to hers, the Blackerry Balm was that the scent was rather generic and not appealing. However, she has come to love it, but the scent is still not optimal. On the other hand, I have the Raspberrry Balm. I loved it from the beginning, as it has the slightest tartness that most balm-makers fail to add to their berry flavours. The actual balm itself is fabulous! This company, Mountain Sky, is based in British Columbia and strive to use all natural products. Their prices are reasonable, around $4.00. All in all, we highly recommend this balm, especially if you are a very berry person!
Told you we liked The Body Shop!! This butter is very smooth, creamy and lovely on the lips. It is a little heat sensitive, so be aware in this summer weather. Smells and tastes slightly sweet. It is not very long lasting, but it is good as a night balm, or a day balm if constantly reapplied. It is in a little tub, so it may be inconvenient as it has to applied with finger. I bought mine on sale, and otherwise I think they are a bit on the expensive side. Overall, this is a great lip butter, and probably my favourite product that comes in a little tub.
The lemon of this balm smells and tastes absolutely delicious, no doubt about it. It is a fairly light balm to put on, as it has a slippery feel. It has a bit of a shine to it, and tastes like lemon meringue pie filling. Needs to be re-applied often. Very expensive though, it was $7.50 at Bath and Body Works, for quite a small amount of lip balm in a large tube. Overall a sweet little balm, with a big price, but would still recommend it to anyone.
HURRAW! all natural, organic, vegan, raw, good. Ours is in the grapefruit flavour. We find it to be oily, but it is still long lasting and moisturizing. The oily factor lessens the longer you have it on. It has a slight tingly grapefruit flavour from the grapefruit oil, but no flavour seems to been intended. Nice packaging, decent pricing. It is in a tube the shape of an oval cylinder. Overall, I would recommend the brand, but not this flavour in particular, as we are planning to try more flavours in the future. http://hurrawbalm.com/ : )
Don't get us wrong, we love The Body Shop, but this product is a big no-no in our books. The lip roll on that we will be reviewing is the Rose flavour. It may smell nice and has a delicate rose flavour but the lip oil itself is terrible. This roll-on is extremely greasy, and leaves your lips looking like you've just devoured 3 pounds of butter. It smears off your lips, leaves your lips crusty and dries them out insanely. The roll-on ball is a cool metal sphere. If you're in a cold place, the roll-on will actually kind of freeze, and it takes a while to get it rolling again. It is overly priced for what you get, and overall we would not recommend it to anyone.
First of all, we are HUGE fans of EOS lip balms. This review will be for the Pomegranate Raspberry flavour only. This lip-sphere is smooth, delightfully scented and wonderfully flavoured. We love the sphere shape of the balm, but it can be inconvenient as they are pocket-bulgers. Extremely moisturizing, long lasting and sweet tasting, we find it a great balm for all occasions. It leaves no greasy shine or colour on your lips. The one complaint we would have for this balm is when it goes flat, and how difficult it is to finish, as opposed to a tube of balm. We have not yet had the opportunity to try the tubes of EOS, but it is on our to-do list. We <3 EOS!!
Just going to start off by saying that this may not be the most appetizingly scented or flavoured product, but the balm itself is amazing. Texture is great, smooth, not greasy, a bit on the thick side, stays on well, and doesn't dry out lips. It is completely organic and natural, so if you had to put a name to the scent, it would just be hemp. Due to it being so organic, it doesn't contain any SPF protection. Unfortunately the wrapper wears off very easily, and the second photo is what mine looked like after two weeks of normal usage. Nonetheless, we love this lip balm and highly recommend it to anyone who is partial to natural and organic products.
