Me and my girls.
pressing matters — bambi + anthea
Anthea: [ / laughter erupted out of her, unstoppable. Bambi was a ball of energy, and they got on better than any other friend of Anthea's ] Anything else, hm? A Sephora shopping trip once in a while? [ / she laughed again, obviously pulling Bambi's leg ] I'm at my place, but I can be over at your's in a few. I'll bring some boxes. You have no say in the matter, but you will be moving in today. As for video games and cartoons, I'll consider it. Though...I hope you've got a plan on how to make that fun.
Bambi: [She smirked on her end of the phone, nodding to herself.] I could do that. I may be a tomboy but I'm not a complete dyke, Thee. [She knew it was a joke but, she figured, she should let her friend know that she would've done as much just yo show her thanks.] It's going to take more than some boxes. I need a U - haul too. Unless you already have a bedroom set. Other than that, I have /a lot/ of clothes. More than you might think. [Bambi made an unimpressed noise.] Please, I make everything fun.

Anthea: [ / she sighed, the tone of it light and humorous ] Christ, Bam -- You know I'm rarely at home, anyway. I could do with a bit of company, too. I was thinking of getting a parrot, but I don't love to listen to my own voice /that/ much. [ / she laughed, followed by silence ] Really, though. I'm not going to offer a second time, you know how I am. You don't even have to pay a hefty rent bill, I'll still cover everything but the electric. You can also buy us weekly take-away, but I have a feeling that won't be much. So? Don't make me whine.
Bambi: [Bambi just remained quiet, pondering on each word. Anthea was really the closest person to her in this town, besides her own mother and she trusted her.] Well, you /do/ drive a hard bargain. Always have. But... As long as you're sure I don't see any problems. Plus, you know I'm damn good at taking care of your lonely needs. [She smiled on her end of the phone.] I can cover more than electric and food, Thea - seriously. Whatever else you need. I'm excited though. Now I don't have to go through the hassle of reaching you for my weekly booty call or make the trip. And I can force you to watch Adventure Time with me too. Oh shit! I'm also going to teach you how to play Street Fighter against your will! All of the possibilities are making me squee!

Anthea: [ / the phone rings twice ] Bambles? Dove, I'm glad I caught you. Listen: a darling little bird informed me you're looking for a place. Well, I've got the room, and I've just given you the offer. What say you, blossom? I've got high-speed internet, and enough bandwidth to last...well, a damn long time. So? [ / she fiddles around with something plastic and crinkly ]
Bambi: [She was on her way back from her disappointing apartment searches when she heard her iPhone ringing to the tone of Zelda's Theme - which meant it had to be one person. Quickly, she accepted the call and listened, shocked at the offer.] You've got people spying on me now, Theethee? I know this is a small town, but shit, people must really be talking. [She was joking, but a part of her was unsure only because she didn't want to feel as if she were intruding. Her pride often got in the way of things.] But seriously, I mean, that sounds like it would be friggin' amazing and all but I don't want to take over your space - even if your internet is bitchin'.
"—I did not know that, actually, that’s pretty fantastic. He was pretty fantastic… plus he always looked like some really kind uncle you’d love to hang out with, you know? He had one of those faces…" She smiled at the stranger. "You’re right. It’s better to remind him for the great actor he was and everything he accomplished instead of… well, how it ended. I’d love to get paid not to follow the script though. Freestyle acting! That sounds like fun."
"Exactly. You see? All these little bits of information just make me happy to know that I was able to see what he brought to the table - that millions of people around the world appreciated his genius. I mean imagine having him as a friend or a loved one - after Christopher Reeve's unfortunate accident many people visited him but Robin Williams was the first to make him laugh. I appreciate those kind of stories. It warms my heart." Bambi gave the woman in front of her a matching smile, the twinkle reaching her own eyes to show how true her words were. "Improv is hard for a lot of actors and actresses, but Robin pulled it off - he was just so damn witty and full of charisma. It's a shame really, but hopefully he's in a better place."
"I'm sorry, just realized that we've been talking and I didn't get your name. I'm Bambi, and yes, it is my real name."
"Watching Robin Williams movies with booze just sounds like a recipe for a cry fest. Isn’t it still a little too soon for that?" Kelsie hooked a lock of hair behind her ear then shrugged. "I mean, to each their own, but I feel like it’s still too soon."
"Well, I'm trying to stay away from those type of movies like Dead Poets Society or Good Will Hunting. Too soon for what? To celebrate his life and what he left behind rather than dwell on the fact that such a brilliant man ended his own life? I don't think so. Better to celebrate all the joy and laughter that he brought to my life, and what better with a toast than the alternative."
Happily gasping, she looked at the other woman with enthusiasm. “Now that’s a great way to spend any day, not just Saturday.” The late great Robin Williams was the saddest talk of the town, which oddly made Harmony sad. “I’d ask for an invite, but after watching World’s Greatest Dad on my own the other night.. I don’t think I could get through another movie for the time being.”
Bambi nodded in agreement, glad to find someone that agreed. "Honestly, I think you're the first person who told me that. Everyone else has said something along the lines of it being too soon, which, I mean, too soon for what?" She replied, gesturing a bit with her hands. "I get it though. Work and other things kept me from watching sooner, but I figure it's about time I at least watch something instead of focusing on the sad aspect of his death as a whole."
"I don’t recommend asking a girl out to watch Robin Williams’ movies… is way too depressing. I keep thinking about Dead Poets Society and it hurts ten thousand times more…"
"This is true, but still…" Bambi began, her expression changing to a slightly amused ponderous look. "I was thinking of watching the movies that leaned more on the comedic side, starting with Aladdin. Did you know that all of his lines in that movie were all improvised?" She asked, automatically assuming that the attractive stranger in front of her was even interested in the first place. "Disney originally gave him a script to follow and he said it didn't feel right, so they let him do his thing and, fuck, man was he talented. I don't know, as sad as his story was, I just find it better to remember him on a positive note rather than mope."
"Celebrating this grand old saturday by re-watching Robin Williams movies and lots of alcohol. A cute girl wouldn't be bad either, but we can't have it all." She said, shrugging.

Biography
Ever since she had the coordination to hold a pencil, Bambi has been drawing. As a child, her homework was always covered in doodles, sometimes so much so that you couldn’t even see the math equations because the caricatures of her teachers were packed so densely across the ditto sheets. More often than not, her answer sheets would be marred with red ink - “SEE ME!” scrawled angrily above her name, though this didn’t hinder Bambi. When it came time to ship her offer to school, her parents were tempted to sit the girl down and remind her the merit of a good education in a useful field. Her father was an accountant and her mother a secretary for a prominent legal firm in Newport, and the pair of them wanted to make sure Bambi understood the value of a good business-based education. They knew their daughter all too well, though, and, with heavy hearts, agreed to foot the bill to send Bambi to one of the premiere art schools in New England, the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. She chose to follow her dream of someday working for Disney Studios, and eagerly pursued a degree in Animation, a wise decision considering the cartoons she was so talented at conjuring up. Halfway through her senior year at RISD, tragedy struck the Moseley family when her father, Roberto, suffered a fatal heart attack, leaving his wife widowed and buried under a mountain of burial costs. Without her father’s income paying off the school’s larger-than-life bills, Bambi was forced to take another job in addition to schooling, always exhausted but more determined to help her mother as well as herself with the financial crisis. It was during these times that Bambi lived like a starving artist, hardly ever having any downtime. Eventually, the mother and daughter duo were forced to move back to Alexandria - where her mother had grown up - to save some sort of money. It wasn’t a move that Bambi was necessarily excited to make yet she had decided to make the best of it. Circumstances, in their case, had been and could’ve been much worse. As it was, it only took her a couple of months to adjust to the small and peaceful town. If anything she had always been quite adaptable - which was a plus. With the exception of wanting to quickly move from her mother’s childhood home, Bambi actually ended up developing a deep fondness for Alexandria and had decided to stay as she continued to work on her art, gaming world connections, and a savings of her own so that she could eventually make her dreams a reality.
