So something that looked like an exception is revealed to actually be the norm - except for a few jinki that are specifically there to enhance physical performance. This is such a big revelation in terms of Gachiakuta's power system. It better explains the "codependent with an object" derision normal people have expressed because now we see that jinki aren't just a cool power, they also leach off their user in some way.

They're truly codependent and you need to be a little crazy to get into that arrangement.

Kyoka mentions that some who seemingly use their jinki for performance enhancements, could be hiding the price they pay for using them. For us the connection goes to Enjin immediately; he paid the price and kept it hidden. But what if Urana wants to hint at someone else like Riyo maybe?

What are the bigger implications for the other characters with this?

what price is Jabber paying when he uses the toxin ability of or fully manifests Mankira?

is half manifesting a jinki a trick to avoid paying the price?

what are the others like Zodyl, Momoa, and Cthoni paying for their jinki which are definitely not just there for heightened performance?

is the reason why Rudo pays so little because he's blood related to Canis?

would that mean that he would've paid a lesser price for using Enjin's version Time Walk?

will Zanka unlock an ability of Lovely Asstistaff that will go into "pay the price" territory, just how Jabber hinted at?

Was hit with an awful thought. Of Jamil out living Kalim when they're older. How strange it'd be for this older man, who followed Kalim like a shadow to suddenly just not have that body he's been attached too for so long. To be free completely of the other man in every single way now. How odd it'd be, Jamil going to make a quip only to be met with silence. Because Kalim is gone. It'd be a quiet grief on Jamil's part. Evenings spent on the balcony, thinking about him. That last smile on his weathered face, still bright like when they were young. Now gone, like the moon on a dark cloudy night.

Jamil would feel that absence the most, with all the history and lifetime they've spent together. It'd be like missing a limb, notable to him really. Others would mourn for old man Kalim, but they'd move on. They wouldn't feel that ping of loneliness like Jamil.

Two boys so intertwined, who after so much trial and error had finally came to a middle ground. Had finally decided to spend their lives together in one way or another, growing and becoming something better than they were before. Only for one of them to leave the other behind. In the most simple way. Not poisoned or murdered, as they both expected, but to old age. To a natural progression of life, a natural conclusion for all. It's a somber, sorrowful feeling. To be left behind because time ran out.

Jamil would go on with his life, yet he'd remember Kalim in everything. Knowing that if it was the other way around, Kalim would do the same. He'd think of him, would notice every silence met with him talking to Kalim. Awaiting a chipper response that'd never be spoken back. Old age would be kind to Jamil, just as it was to Kalim before he'd passed. And it'd be lonely for him. Without the other who was his friend. Until his turn arrived that quiet loneliness, that empty space where someone else should have been, would become his companion.

For better or worse.
