"I love the Nutcracker" I say. Many people in the room nod their heads. They agree. Good ballet. I sigh inwardly to myself. They don't understand. I love the literal wooden man from Barbie in The Nutcracker (2001).

Looking for character names on Pinterest is so wild because most of them are baby name lists so one imagines that the mindset should be “which name will connect to the best life for my beloved daughter” and I’m over here like “which name sounds like she could be divorced and thriving?”
i enjoyed drawing jedi knights

Anne Elliot was living in an aristocratic world of stagnation, where everyone does things the way they've always been done. Then she had to leave that life and discovered a new, changing world, where you're not just defined by your family or your good looks but by your character and actions, and her stale, meaningless life gained color and worth and purpose. The old life is dying, but that's a good thing, because it means a new, better life can begin. That's true for both Anne Elliot and all of England--they need to let go of the old ways and embrace change so they can truly live.
That's an astonishing message to find in an author's last book. Not that Austen was very old, but people tend to be attached to the world of their youth, yet there's not a hint of lament for the lost old world in Persuasion. She saw the world changing and was excited by the new opportunities. It wasn't death, it was a chance for each individual to find a new life, and it makes me wish Austen could have had the chance to see it.
Captain and Mrs Croft really are the Austen couple of all time. What do you mean they drive around recklessly in their carriage cackling as they capsize? What do you mean they stroll around Bath all day endlessly chatting and laughing and joking and gossiping? What do you mean Sophy loves a ship’s quarters over a grand hall because “as long as we could be together, nothing ever ailed me, and I never met with the smallest inconvenience”? What do you mean what do you meaaaaan?
in 2026 i am wishing for all of us the energy of bilbo baggins, who was headhunted for an extremely well paid role he had no qualifications or experience for, blagged the interview, and within his first week found a magic ring that does the job for him
Finally finished Wings of Starlight and I am unwell
Beauty and the Beast really is the movie for every season. Autumn and yearning? Spooky Gothic? Check. Cozy winter? Check. Winter turns to spring, famine turns to feast? Hell yes.
It's frustrating that you can come up with the plot of an entire fic in just a few seconds, but writing it all down can take anywhere from never to forever.
It’s true though I have a whole Twilight fic in my head that firmly exists to me so much that I forget I haven’t actually bothered to sit down and write it

so I crocheted a baby Yoda/Grogu, and let me tell you. I got a store bought one towards the beginning of the show, who is also good, but I have such an emotional connection to this wonky yarn muppet. He is my son now. I feel a spiritual connection to Din Djarin. I too would battle the galaxy for him.
Update: here is my son! And my brother requested Max Reebo so here he is as well.
the only way to tell if a man is truly gentle is if he has green moss and algae all over him from sleeping quietly, motionlessly, at the bottom of a crystal clear riverbed
if youve never physically been in the presence of like, a real live wolf, and you probably wont get the chance to, heres some stuff about them you should know
a wolf’s fur is so unbelievably thick that you can get like, your whole hand into it while petting. and then you can keep going
wolves are a lot bigger than you think they are. think about how big you think a wolf is then just like double that
they dont really smell like dog but they DO smell and youre not going to be able to figure out if its a good smell or not
a wolf really wants to lick the inside of your mouth. he will not stop trying to lick the inside of your mouth at any cost, and generally speaking you need to press your lips together kind of tightly when he approaches your face so that he doesnt worm his damn tongue in there to give you what he thinks is an appropriate greeting
a wolf doesnt really want to look at you while you pet him but he wants you to pet him. hes embarrassed
if a grown ass wolf decides to lay down on you, you just have to deal with it and thats your life now
young wolves, much like young dogs, are overwhelmingly goofy and stupid. a teenage wolf will see your very fragile, very human shoulder and go “i can probably step on that with my full weight” and then he will do it
letting a wolf eat out of your hand is actually not remotely frightening, and youll want to do it all day
I wanna know who did this research.
well, i did!
in the interest of science, have tested & can confirm
people surprised we domesticated wolves apperantly dont realize we were made for each other, like two halves of one larger dork organism
never not reblog the wolf post that launched 10,000 fanfics
