Morel’s Hybrid 6.5″ woofer & MT350 tweeter in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler
A high-performance car audio system that you’ll never see… Is how Musicar Northwest described this installation.
We would like to thank Musicar Northwest for sharing this great installation with us.
It consists of Morel’s Hybrid 6.5″ woofers, MT-350 tweeters, Arc Audio amp and digital signal processor from Mosconi. Musicar Northwest said that adding high-performance audio using the factory multimedia unit is a common occurrence by them – read their notes and enjoy!

Over four decades ago, in 1975, Mr. Meir Mordechai founded Morel, inspired by his love of music and motivated by a dream – to create a loudspeaker that would capture the magic in music in the most natural way.
Adding high-performance audio using the factory multimedia unit is a common occurrence at Musicar Northwest.
The factory audio system was disappointing to say the least. The front stage consisted of a 6.5″ woofer located in the belly of the dashboard, and a 2″ mid-range /tweeter at the top firing straight up.
The factory woofer is housed in a plastic enclosure in an attempt to retain bass response — a failed attempt.
After modifying the enclosure for better acoustics, Musicar Northwest built composite adapters to replace the factory drivers with a set of 6.5″ woofer from Morel’s Hybrid series. The Morel Hybrid woofers use a large 2″ aluminum voice coil that improves the linearity and decreases distortion.
The woofer and modified enclosure hide behind the factory grille for a stock appearance.
Rich Clapp from Musicar Northwest is machining the custom tweeter housings for the top of the dash.
This adapter is comprised of multiple layers of cast acrylic. Not only will these be a very rigid mount, but they’ll also last as long as the Jeep does since they’re not susceptible to moisture.
The mounts are designed with a provision to angle the tweeter. This gives a better response since the speaker is aimed towards the listener. Tweeter aiming is particularly important considering that higher frequencies are more directional.
Great sound requires great integration. When you’re using a tweeter like the MT350 from Morel’s Elate series, nothing but the best will do.
Once installed, we can see here how the tweeter tip’s toward the driver.
Factory grill is reinstalled and the speaker disappears.
The amplifier powering these new drivers is a four channel mini class-a/b from Arc Audio. The four channel system let’s us run an “active” configuration. This means that both the tweeters and the woofer have independent amp and processor channels. The amp mount is also constructed from composites and metals for rigidity and longevity.
The mount is designed to hide beneath the driver’s dash to keep it out of the rain in the event the Jeep is caught with it’s top off.
Existing factory hardware was used to mount the amplifier. This way no permanent modifications were required.
Because they wanted to extract every bit of potential from the new system, and we’re using the factory source unit, a digital signal processor from Mosconi – Italy was used. This component provided them the ability to independently adjust the equalization and time delay of each speaker in the Wrangler.
The processor hides on a fabricated bracket behind the glove box. This way it’s out of sight, but retaining quick access for when the system breaks in and needs to be re-tuned.

Looks like it’s going to rattle more than it would bass! LOL!

1971 Mustang Mach 1 features Morel’s Virtus components system
Morel’s Virtus component system was installed for the front and rear stage. Well, this car is owned by the client since high school. As the client is an audio guy he wanted some good tunes and in this car it must play loud! So The Radio Doctor put together a system featuring Arc Audio, Morel Hifi, and Alumapro, As they said “that’s going to be all that and crystal clear too.”
Morel’s Virtus component system was installed for the front and rear stage.
Limited by the existing hole cut in the Mustang’s door panel years ago, Morel’s Virtus 4" was installed there with a ring that was added behind to cover the old speaker impression and holes.
Finally it was time to install the cover panel and rear drivers in the 71 Mach 1. Matching Virtus woofers with octopus grilles were fitted to the Alumapro subs by means of a spacer ring.
There was concern that the rear components would move the sound too far rear, but that was not the case. The sound was really balanced, with a great front stage.
Do you still have the civic?
Yessir!
My new subs two 18 zv4s. Two of the only four in the world that have triple tinsel leads. Fuckin beastly 75 pound subs
So fyeahcaraudio reblogged an old post.... to be fair I haven't activly posted in a long time. So I was inspired to post my new build! I scatched my old plans when my corolla died unexpectedly, and picked up this 2005 Honda civic coupe, currently lx. When I got the car it was completely stock, but I had big plans for my tiny civic. First things first, I did my audio build, same sub (Konaki 15 with FI soft parts, 1 ohm coils) new box(sealed 1.6ft^3) to fit the trunk with a new massive audio monoblock 2000.1 amp. It puts out 2000rms(there is no fuse built into the amp) @ 1 ohm but I have dual 1 ohm coils, so I wired to 2 ohms for 1000 watts rms. The car is fully sound deadned with nvx, I have pioneer components (champion series) in front on mb quartz crossovers. For the rear fill I have inifity kappa 6x9s, old school ones. Headunit is a Kenwood ddx470, and I have a custom bondo fit voltmeter on top and on a switch monitoring the voltage at the amp. Same battery powerhouse hc kinetic 1800, full big 5 upgrade with 0 Guage and everything is soldered. Only thing missing is a mechman HO alternator. For the car upgrades , full magnaflowcatback and high flow magnaflow catalytic converter, custom welded. Currently car is an lx but I am going to swap for a d17a2 head and change the brain, giving the car vtech and making it an ex! Also on horizon is crowerstage 1 camshaft and all the Bells and whistles ( new suspension, poly bushings, strut tower braces and more) but all this is up and coming. Pretty much all work done by myself, only Welding of exausht was done with just my assistance (I'm not that good at it, but I helped )
