Even idols edit their pics to look more pale. Idk why ya'll always blaming fans for that. When idols basically doing that🤷🏻‍♀️

lmao i havent been active on here for like a good two years glad to see my melanin post is still making its rounds

See the thing is that Korean society, like many others, has been (to put it nicely)  influenced by the west to believe that pale, aka white, skin is what makes you beautiful. As time has passed, however, more and more people are understanding, internalizing, and encouraging others to see that all skin colors are beautiful. We’re not saying that white/pale skin isn’t pretty, we’re saying that dark skin is too. Naturally, idols want to adhere to what they think their fans want. If we continue whitewashing their pics then that’s what they’ll think that we want them to look like. If we celebrate their natural skin (however pale or however tan it is) then they’ll have the confidence to feel comfortable in their own skin.
