          he can’t help but smile as he lays beside her, staring up, eyes focusing on nothing in particular. it’s rare that he be calm, but there’s something about her presence that’s always put him at ease. his first instinct is to grab her hand and bring it to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to her palm. but before doing so, he lets her finish her task.

                    “ connie hall, i am undeserving of your kindness. ”

          there’s a soft sigh that leaves his lips as he lays,           head resting carefully on the lap of the other.           they were simply sitting in his backyard ( because           banquo loves the warm weather ), calm and quiet           as the gentle breeze rustles the leaves. he turns           slightly when he feels the other’s hand, smiling           once he realizes what he’s doing. 

                    “ what a sweetie. ”

          nathan’s relative calmness can be explained by the fact that           he’s be on the opposite side of this conversation so many times           that he essentially knows the script. it’s a little strange being           on the other side but for banquo, nathan would do anything.           doesn’t matter how much he swallows or how tall he makes           himself look, nathan sees past that as he takes a step closer           and covers his hand with his own.

                    ❝ i know you are, but listen; i’m not going anywhere. not now, not ever, okay? ❞

          banquo is always going to have this feeling that he           doesn’t completely DESERVE nathan. both have           their problems, their quirks, whatever --- and banquo           has no problem dealing with nathan’s, or helping him.           the thing is, though, banquo doesn’t want nathan to           have to deal with his. but when he feels the other’s           hand on his own, he can’t help but bring it to his lips,           pressing a soft kiss to nathan’s knuckles. 

                    “ oh.. okay. that --- thank you. ”

We had an audition together and I was just immediately… blown away by Taron. Obviously, I’d seen Kingsman, but I presumed a guy who’s the lead in an action film franchise, playing Eddie the Eagle – I was like, “I don’t know who could pull that off.” And, by the way, apart from this guy, I still don’t know who could pull that off! – Hugh Jackman.

                    ❝ never said you couldn’t. ❞

          he knows the look banquo’s giving him, mostly because he’s           given HIM the same one before. for once, nathan seems to           be the one in a better place, at least mentally, so he’s going           to do everything in his possible to help the other. banquo’s           shouldn’t have to worry about everyone else all the time, he           should be able to worry about just himself for once.

                    ❝ the thing is, you don’t have to. ❞

                    “ i’m fine. ”

          he’d rehearsed the words over and over again in case           a moment like this came along. he just didn’t think it’d           be with nathan. nathan, who can probably see through           ever single facade; after all, he’s already broken down           every single wall that banquo has ever built up. fingers           tap relentlessly against the counter top and he has to           swallow this lump in his throat before he can even think           about speaking again.

                     “ i swear i’m fine.. ”

                     ❝ banquo… ❞

          it seems like it’s the first time nathan’s ever put up a fight,           especially against banquo. he doesn’t want to leave and           he especially doesn’t want to leave NOW, not when he’s           like this. it’s not about him or how he feels, it’s about banquo,           and not leaving him alone.

                    ❝ i’m not going. ❞

          he wants to be alone, at least --- at least that’s what he           THINKS he wants. a part of him knows, deep down, that           being alone isn’t going to solve everything. he can’t spend           his whole life putting others before himself. he has to think           of himself for once, of what he’s putting himself through.           banquo swallows hard and shakes his head, standing up           a bit straighter. 

                    “ i don’t --- i can take care of myself, y’know ?? ”
