Here Comes a Thought || Betty & Sharon
āDeep breaths Betty, you have to remember you two were separate, you have to pull each other back in, just breathe. Imagine her energy and intertwine, it should feel as natural as breathing.ā Wong encouraged gently, breathing in deep before releasing the breath.
Betty sighed, arms flashing blue erratically as she tried to move them back in alignment. Apparently in Elizabethās move to escape PH, she had knocked them out of alignment, out of control. They could not even fight together anymore. The healing was even decreased. She imagined the blue shape that had appeared to her in the beginning, back when Loki forced their bond. She reached her hands out the the sphere, trying to pull it inside of her. "Come on, it's just slot a into b, why isnāt this working?" She dropped to her knees with a groan, hands rubbing away the burning sensation in her arms.
āThis will take time Betty. You have essentially lived a life without her and Stephen advised that instead of forcing the bond, as was done previously, we let it occur more naturally. You will become stronger. Everyday, in fact, you grow in peace and power.ā
"That being said, she is done for today," Came Stephenās voice from above "otherwise she will be too exhausted to meet with Agent Carter for her pets. Despite my hesitance in having them here, I imagine they miss her." Betty smiled up slightly at Stephen before dragging herself back to her feet. She had to get back to full strength for their plan to be of use. But he was right. She did have a meeting. An important one at that
Betty shook herself out, before turning on her heel towards the bedroom she occupied at the sanctum. It originally was just a bed but Clea had decorated it to be a bit more homey. It was part of healing she had stated. Betty needed to realize she was back to her actual home. She had even went as far to make the room blue in design, with things like lava lamps and a moon chair. Things that would have never existed in her father's perfect world for her.
She snagged the phone she had left on the dresser (a gift from stark), pulling up her chat with Sharon.
"I am ready whenever you want to come by :)" the smile felt fake but, that was who Betty was. She didn't remember doing such things in the simulator, but Elizabeth was apparently trying to repress some of those details to make them fit together again. Though, she rather remember, it would make later easier.
Besides, couldn't erase the big details unfortunately. Nothing like a child to make you feel a bit empty on the inside
She wriggled out of her training clothes. Throwing them on top of the pjs fron this morning. The clothes were hers thankfully. Wong had magiked his way into her apartment for them, though her underlings were all new. A gift from Clea's home. They had slightly strange patterns on the design but she had been assured that they were normal. They felt like silk in the very least against her skin.
Betty walked to her closet, running a hand thoughtfully over the clothes. How did one see their ex after be captured in a virtual world by ones father?
She pulled out a purple sweater with a pair of acid washed jean shorts. Little punk, little cozy, a lot different then what a pediatrician would wear. She wiggled into her outfit, frowning at her reflection in the mirror.
The muscle loss was one of the more annoying factors.
"Betty" Stephen called through the door. "Agent Carter is here"
"Coming" Betty slipped her flipflops on, opening the door and running down the staircase. She rather not keep the other waiting for too long.
She pulled open the door, offering a small smile and a loving coo to the Hydra that jumped at her. "Hey Sharon..."

OMG! Liv Tyler still remembers being Betty Ross in The Incredible Hulk! This is amazing!
As you can see, Liv was standing besides a statue of the Hulk, which directly references her role as Betty in the 2008 Hulk film.

Why? || Maria & Betty
furyslefteye:
dr-betty-ross:
Betty chuckled. āI would be horrified if I did. This is the man who thought human testing was appropriate. As far as Iām concerned Blonsky just proves that Ross is no better than Loki.ā Granted, she came out better than Blonsky had. More refined less psychopathic. āThough I am curious about what was so important for you to protect. Something you had to sell all your friends out for.ā She frowned, shaking her head. āWe would have helped you with whatever the backlash was. You know, that right?ā Betty leaned forward in her sear, shrugging.
āHonestly it is the same either way. Iāve already been given the āIāll put you down like old yellerā speech from him. But, ya know, have to glow up first. Though I am curious how you changed his mind in the first placeā it had to be something particularly interesting for him to even listen in the first place. Much less change his mind. He was stubborn like that. The type of stubborn that lead to senseless wars and a mad grab for power.
Betty felt the other scream at his plans, letting a look of disgust cross her face. āOf course, he is. I swear I will kill him myself.ā God what if he got ahold of any of the kids. They didnāt deserve to be studied. She would rather volunteer herself for that treatment than let them take it. She had to go and talk to Stark after this. There had to be places to hide them. Strange wasnāt answering after all. āI hope you donāt wait too long. Maria, what if he starts grabbing the babies off the street next. Before Stark or Xavier can get to them? Are you going to let him hurt kids as well?ā She stood, crossing her arms. āApparently not enough if he is still snatching people up and making them disappear right and left.
Betty scoffed at Mariaās final statement. āIt was heat of the moment to destroy a chil-no some childrenās life? To cause Thor such grief?ā She rose from her seat, staring the other down. āWhat had you so up in a tizzy that you did not think of the consequences?ā She shook her head. āCan keep her head straight when a nuke is heading to blow up New York but not when her precious little secrets might get it.ā
What had you so up in a tizzy that you did not think of the consequences?
Maria thought back to that day, when she gave up all the names of the Rescuers. It wasnāt very long ago - the memories were still fresh. She remembered Rossās threats, and she could feel in the pit of her stomach that Betty wasnāt going to understand. But she had to explain anyway.
āYour father has had his scientists working on replicating the Mutant Growth Hormone. Itās what gave me my power, and Hank McCoy is the only person who has made a stable formula. The day he brought me in for questioning, he said he had the mutantĀ ācureā with him, along with two other serums. One of them was his version of the mutant growth hormone.ā
Maria stood up and stepped away from Betty.
āMy biggest concern was getting those serums away from him. He owns the mutantĀ ācureā, I canāt take that away, but I got his only semi-stable version of the growth hormone to date. He was so upset when I said your name he ran out of the room, and I was able to bring it to Dr. McCoy before your father had a chance to use it on someone.ā
Bettyās anger was justified, but she didnāt and couldnāt understand the position Maria was in. There was so much more at stake than she knew.
āYour father has access to every piece of technology and program that was retrieved from Shield and Hydra. I was one of the highest ranking leaders of Shield, and I oversaw and catalogued most of the programs he is looking into utilising. Iām one of the few remaining experts of everything Shield used to do, and now I need to use that to make his life harder. Even if it means giving up a few names, I need him to trust me.ā
Betty cocked her head to the side, listening intently to what the other said. She did not think the lackeys that Ross thought was appropriate would be smart enough to figure those things out. Sure SHIELD had asked her a couple times to look into such things, but she had always refused. The cure always seemed like a good viable option in her mind, but not something that would turn someone into a mutant. That was just messing with natural order in the most unnatural of ways.
āItās fine that he has a cure, some mutants need a cure. Did you know that it has been documented that Wolverine had to kill a mutant because his āpowersā was that everyone around him spontaneously combusted? If youāre worried about him having the cure, I wouldnāt be. Not every mutants powers are helpful and not every mutant deserves to have to die because of what biology decided.ā She bit her lip, rolling the otherās words over in her head.
āWhile Iām glad my name startled him enough that you could get the formula to Dr. McCoy, but you seriously cannot be stupid enough to think that he cannot whip up another batch. My father was a stickler for paperwork if nothing else. He is willing to replicate things over and over again until he gets it right. And he always stocks his staff with willing fools. Why do you think Blonskey still exist? Hell, he might try to use that ācureā on him to see if it offsets the other monster within.ā Betty shook her head, standing up from the couch in a huff. Her arms crossed over her chest. āNone the less that does not excuse giving up Janeās name.ā
She moved closer to Maria, pointing a finger at the other women, but not daring to touch her. āYou cannot say that any amount of trust is worth selling out a pregnant woman. And what are you going to do if the stress kills the baby. Or they kill Jane and the baby? Or worse case scenario, they kill her, take the baby, and use it for his own schemes? Do you know why the Red Room used children? Because they are easy to control from a young age and can be brainwashed a whole lot easier. You might have taken the mutant gene from him but you may have handed him a whole new weapon. One that has an undetermined age limit and power because it is half god and half whatever passed on from Jane.ā She shook her head.
āDid you even consider what is currently in her, or did you just think he was smart enough to make a completely stable formula before he got torn down.ā
Surprise! || Betty & Stephen
Betty tapped her fingers against the exam table, trying to fight off the nervousness that was coursing through her. Ā Matthew and she had been trying for so long now, honestly, she should not have made the appointment. It had been only two weeks, she had been that late before much to her fear at the time. Ā Her fingers started to tap faster while she stared up at the clock. It was selfish of her, but she had honestly wanted Stephen to sit in the room with her while the test had run. It was nerve wrecking to just be sitting her.
God, she felt so bad for her patients, maybe they should paint the walls a not-white color? Add some interactive puzzles or something to the walls, anything to make them a little less dreadful.
She bit at her lip, resisting the urge to text Matthew back. To tell him what she was actually up to today. Instead of just a simple āpopping in to say hi on her day offā. She didnāt want to get his hopes up though. Especially if this turned out to be another false positive. Betty swallowed back the sobs in her throat, after all there was no reason for her to be getting this emotional.
It might not even exist yet.
Because no matter of hoping, no matter how prepared her and Matthew felt. No number of prepared themes (night and science) and names could magic her into being pregnant. Besides, she was a terrible patient. Remembering to go to the doctors all the time would be hard. Especially if Stephen did not agree to be her doctor. They were besties but he would be seeing very intimate parts of her if he said yes. Not that she necessarily cared about that. Pretty much all lady parts looked similar in structure. Just variation in size and coloration.
Betty cleared her throat, turning to stare at the door, scorning at the picture of the mother and her child on it.
God, the hospital needed to redecorate something fierce. Ā
Lost In Hellās Kitchen || Betty & Matt
the-devil-without-fear:
Mattt felt a weird rush of energy, almost like an electrical shock, where his fingers brushed against Bettyās hand.Ā It surprised him enough that he almost jerked his arm away, but whatever it was dissipated almost as quickly as it had come.
Huh.
Ā It wasā¦weird, to say the least, but heād experienced much weirder when it came to his super senses before. The energy was probably just static electricity, or something in the air that he picked up on. They might have been doing electrical work in the building again, that really messed with him the last timeā¦
Bewildered, he decided to shake the feeling off and relaxed into Bettyās touch, wrapping an arm around her waist.Ā
āGood Morning."Ā
Matt smiled, having almost forgotten how nice the sound of her voice was. He was lucky he didnāt flinch when he touched her, otherwise they probably wouldnāt be cuddling right now. And that would have been a serious shame.
"How are you?ā
āOh, Iām good,ā he said with a a laugh, running his free hand through his hair. āHow are you?ā
Matt laid with Betty for some time, just savoring the feeling of a warm body curled against his own. It was nice, and a relaxing change of pace from his normally hectic scheduele. He was lucky he didnāt have anything important to do at the office this morning.
āSo,ā he eventually found himself asking, āDo you want some breakfast? I could make pancakes.ā He actually made some pretty good pancakes, of he did say so himself.
āIām just peachy.ā She responded before snuggling closer. As terrible as it was, she missed being able to be this close to someone. The last person was Sharon and that seemed to be a lifetime ago. Of course, it was not the exact same as it had been with her, but it was hard to be that close to a stranger. She hummed softly, nuzzling again his chest. It was so smooth and warm. She opened her eyes again, staring at the wall, enjoying the peace and quiet. It had been so long since she had a nice lay in such as this. Anymore it was either science or missions dragging her out at the crack of dawn.
Betty hummed before nodding against his chest. āI would love pancakes.ā Pancakes were, in fact, one of the best breakfast foods right next to hash browns. She rose out of bed, letting her arms rise above her head in a stretch. Betty groaned before turning back to look at Matt. āMind if I use your restroom to freshen up at bit?ā At his confirmation she grabbed her clothes and purse and headed towards the restroom.
Going on the run with Bruce had taught her to keep a bottle of mouth wash in her pocket in the very least.
Betty hummed quietly as she untangled her hair with her fingers. It was odd, staring at herself in the mirror. She had, had one night stands before. Who hadnāt? But she never really was the type to go home with someone. Especially not in an area such as this. Matt was a sweet one though, the type every girl dreamed about. She grabbed her outfit, slipping into it with the ease he slipped her out of it last night.
She had just grabbed her mouthwash when she happened to notice the bloody bandages in the trash. Betty almost dropped the bottle in surprise, grabbing it at the last second before staring at the trash in confusion and concern.
What the?
āWhomever that belongs to, took quiet a beating.ā The other supplied, slipping out over her skin in a slight comfort. āHopefully it belongs to him and not whomever he hurt. I would hate to have to hurt someone who made you feel that way.ā
Betty swallowed roughly, trying to slow down her racing heart. She just had to act cool, see if Matt did anything like street fighting in his spare time. She slipped the mouthwash back into her purse before heading back out.
Just act natural.

Betty comforts Bruce after his auntās death.
I thought about doing this since yesterday. This set is taken place during early-mid 90ās as you can see. Betty Ross sees Bruce, whom she attends Harvard University with him during this time, after his aunt, Elaine, died from a car accident.
During this, Betty comforts Bruce about his loss and opens up to him about her strained relationship with her father and the death of her mother. This would show their growing closer and closer.
Why? || Maria & Betty
furyslefteye:
Maria hesitated to sit; she wanted to collect her words first. Ross had been doing some terrible things, but everything was very early still. Nothing terrible was happening, but she could feel something looming over the horizon.
āI donāt think you really know the extent of what your fathers plans are,ā She said as she leaned against the arm of the couch.Ā āIn reality, it was either I tell him, or he found out by force and you wouldnāt be sitting here if he had found out about your powers from anyone but me. You all have every right to be angry with me, but thisā¦is safer.ā
She pushed herself up and walked to the center of the room.
āNot that you care, but your father blackmailed me into helping him. At the time, I was too afraid for him to leak my secrets, but I donāt care anymore. Iāve seen what heās been building in the Raft, and heās forcing me to give secondary signatures and approvals. If I do that, I can keep a record of everything heās doing and I will have his full trust and access to most of these facilities.ā
Maria sighed.Ā āHe wants to torture powered individuals. He wants to figure out what causes certain abilities and use that to his advantage. He wants to form a super team completely under his control. By giving up all your names, if any one of you are arrested, then I can at least monitor what he does. Giving him your name hurt him the most and threw him off his game. Iā¦I canāt justify giving up Jane. It was the heat of the moment.ā
Betty chuckled. "I would be horrified if I did. This is the man who thought human testing was appropriate. As far as I'm concerned Blonsky just proves that Ross is no better than Loki." ER Trip II Peter, Betty, Stephen and Tony
spiderscience:
stephenstrange-sorcerersupreme:
thefuturistknows:
This kind of thing always seemed to happen only when it was his turn with Peter.
Tony first got a call from the school, shortly followed by one from the hospital. He knew exactly where Peterās inhaler was: first drawer on his nightstand. Tony had checked it last night while the kid was asleep; he always tried to make sure that this stuff was on its proper spot in case Peter had problems at night. He should have kept one in Peterās backpack as well. It was rather stupid that he hadnāt done that yet, because this wasnāt the first time Peter forgot his inhaler at home. Tony himself always carried one with him. He was supposed to always be there as backup, if necessary.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Itās inevitable that he wouldnāt literally always be physically present. Peter was still only twelve but sometimes it did feel like the whole universe was conspiring to pry him out of Tonyās life too fast.
(Or maybe he was just paranoid. Heād watched Finding Nemo, he got the message.)
Upon arriving at the hospital, Tony made for the emergency ward, then claimed the attention of the first person he could find working on the nearest counter.
āIām here for my kid,ā he said. He was kind of breathless. He put his hands on the counter and leaned forward to try to catch a glimpse of the receptionistās computer screen. āCarbonell. Thatās C-A-R-B-O ā yes. Okay, listen, heās coming from Midtown Science High School, but heās twelve. Brown hair, brown eyes, about thisā¦ā Tony used his hand to give an approximation of Peterās height. āThis tall. Or this tall, depending on the sneakers heās wearing. Which ā I donāt remember which sneakers heās wearingā¦ā
āSir.ā
āChances are heās touched something he shouldnāt have by now, like, if heās alive, which ā I hope he is ā he is, right?ā
āSirā¦ā
āHe climbs things. Furniture? You know? Heās always trying to reach all the tall weird places. May and I call him Spiderling, you know, because heās always trying to hold thirty things at once like he has extra arms or something. He got that from me, actually āā
āSir.ā
āBut he forgot his inhaler. I have one on me. He has asthma ā should I list his allergies?ā
āSir!ā
āYes?ā
āTry to stay calm. Misterā¦ā
āAnthony Carbonell. Iām the dad. Iām calm ā I have insurance.ā
The receptionist kept Tonyās ID and insurance card then indicated a waiting area where āa doctor would be assisting him shortly.ā
Tony didnāt sit down. He kept his arms folded across his chest. First he was standing still, but after the first minute he started pacing.
Someone finally called his name. Tony turned.
āHe hasnāt died or anything, right?ā He asked, before the doctor had even properly approached him. āHeās breathing all right? Iām taking him to JFK this weekend, to watch the planes taking off and landing? I mean, I promised, so if heās dead and he doesnāt get to go, then you know, thatās not really gonna work for me.ā
āDr. Strange? Dr. Ross is requesting you down in the ER.ā
Stephen looked up from the paperwork heād been filling out to see Erin, one of the residents that Betty supervised over in pediatrics, standing in his doorway. He closed the folder heād been working from and pushed it over to the side of his desk.
āAh, thanks Erin. Does she need a consult, or an extra pair of handsā¦?ā He was a neurology specialist, so he worked over in the ER more than he did the pediatric unit, but he and Betty were close enough friends that they often asked eachother for assistance with certain patients. Sometimes he just went over there to help out when he had nothing else to do, he liked working with the kids.
āWe actually had a Peter Parker-Carbonell, aged 12, come in for an asthma attack a few minutes ago. Dr. Ross wants you to speak to the parents.ā
Oooh, it was one of those cases. Betty preferred to let him talk to parents, if he was available, since he was a parent himself. They tended to be more responsive to him because of it, not that he was telling them anything Dr. Ross wouldnāt have.
He smiled at Erin as he stood up from his desk.
āIāll be right over.ā
ā-
āMr. Carbonell?ā Stephen asked, looking around the waiting room. There were a few worried faces present, but it was the man who was currently pacing circles into the floor who turned to face him.
āHe hasnāt died or anything, right?ā
Ā The doctor had to admit, he was a little taken back by the bluntness of the question, and the immediate jump to āworst case scenarioā. It was common for parents to overreact like this when it came to their children, however, especially with something as traumatic as a visit to the ER.Ā (Even he and Clea were guilty of it with Sofia, in all honesty).Ā The poor man was an anxious mess, and it showed, the way Carbonell started chattering away nervously before Stephen even had a chance to introduce himself.
The doctor reached out and put a calming hand on the manās shoulder, trying to get him to relax.Ā
āMr. Carbonell, Iām Dr. Strange. Your son is going to be absolutely fine. Asthma can have severe side effects, but attacks like this are very common, especially in children. Youāll be able to take him on his trip to the airport this weekend, I promise.ā
He gestured for him to take a seat in one of the waiting room chairs, then sat down opposite him.
āPeter was transfered to pediatrics, so my collegue Dr. Ross is treating him there right now. Once heās stable we can take you over there, but in the meantime we just need you to fill out a few forms. Is that alright?ā
For some reason the ambulance ride stayed on the edge of intriguing.Ā Yet the rush into the hospital and into a room with beeping machines and people in scrubs and white coats really set him on edge.Ā Ā He got that they were trying to make him feel better really he did.Ā Ā But he couldnāt relax or get rid of the urge to panic and run away.Ā Ā Either good or bad, the equipment would tangle him up.Ā Plus the whole not breathing thing would make it difficult.Ā Ā
So for now he tried to calm down and focus on controlling his breathing.Ā Ā Being tense did not help with that, at all.Ā Ā His heartbeat on the fast side which concerned the doctors.Ā Ā But really could they blame him?Ā Ā
At least when they sent Dr. Ross in he could relax a little.Ā Ā Something about her familiar and comforting, maybe sheād been his doctor before.Ā Not exactly his first time with a medical issue.Ā Ā Being slightly accident prone and for some reason a trouble magnet.Ā Ā He honestly tried not to, but sometimes it just happened.Ā He needed to think about her question a moment.Ā Ā Which in itself a bit of an answer, difficult to think and yeah dizzy.Ā Ā So he nodded letting his head rest back against the pillow.Ā Ā Peter felt so tired.
That set off another spurt of worry his heart speeding up again.Ā Ā Of course he promptly ignored the Doctorās advice.Ā Ā āWant - my - Dad.āĀ Ā He managed to gasp the words out even though it felt like a band tightening around his chest.
One thing he knew, deep in his bones, that his Dad could always make anything better.Ā Ā He fixed all problems and yeah not a medical doctor but something about being here in this room just, he couldnāt calm down, not really.Ā Ā His hands balled up into a white-knuckled fists.Ā Ā Though the choice to talk probably a bad one as the edges of his vision grayed out.
@dr-betty-rossā
Betty glanced up when she heard a soft thunk against the pillow. He should be a tad tired, well, at least until the steroids kicked in. Unless he had ADHD, then he should stay tired. āTake your time, no rush.ā She looked back down at her notes, picking her head back up at his words. āIām sorr-ā She froze at the unfocused look in his eyes. She moved closer to Peter, resting her hand against his neck for just a moment. She turned back from him, eyes darting to where her nurse stood. Probably to let her know that his dad was just outside with Dr. Strange.
"Erin let Dr. Strange know that I said screw the paperwork. The patient needs his guardian now." She turned back to Peter and gently grabbed his hand to place on her chest. At least she was a bit more equipped with dealing with anxiety symptoms. Kids always had it the worse after traumatic events. They did not have the ability to internalize as well as some of the adults that she had run into could have.
"Peter, honey, I promise you, he is coming back right now, or, one of your guardians is. I just need you to breath with me." She slowed her breathing, focusing more on taking exaggerated breaths. "Just follow along with me, focus on that. I promise you we will make sure everything I'd alright and you have what you need."
Betty glanced at the door before keeping up the encouragement. "You are doing great buddy, just keep breathing with me, they will be here any second." She gently counted the pulse under her fingertips. They had not hooked him up to a monitor, which probably was for the best. The screaming of it would have brought a more than a few nurses running. Especially in this unit. She frowned slightly at the speed of it. It was slowing down slightly, but not enough considering the asthma attack the boy had suffered.
Shit.
Betty opened her mouth to give more reassurances, just to have it shut at the knock. She knew that knock, it was Stephen. "Come in Stephen." She turned back to Peter, smiling softly. "See I told ya it would only be a little bit more. My friend Dr. Strange is going to bring them in now, okay?"
