scott’s far from the envious type. sure, there have been a few separate occasions where jealousy has gotten the better of him – full moons, when the worst of him is heightened – and bad days, which come around for everyone. camp half blood is the strength in numbers he’s never had, and he’s a pack animal.
or… that’s the shape he’s taken, anyway. it’s hard to think about things separately sometimes. the guidance his father has given him is different from how he guesses the camp counselors work around here, and he rolls his shoulders in thought. it’s definitely not jealousy that sits at the pit of him – more like curiosity. something open, and pensive.
“you were ten?” he didn’t get clued into the whole demigod thing until he turned twelve. it must’ve been a lot to take in as a kid; scott can barely remember the first handful of transformations. way more distinguished is the powerful voice of his father in the back of his mind, helping him progress in a way that the gods here aren’t permitted to. maybe there would be some envy in that, if he brought it up. he doesn’t, though. he’s too busy trying to visualize a bathroom getting blown up. “wow. must have made it a pretty fun first day in.”
the smile that creeps onto his face is natural, and he exhales, long and easy. “you guys get to go home though, right? how do semesters work here?” imagining classes and stuff outside of combat training here leaves him a little clueless. “and… yeah, yeah. of course. do you have, i don’t know, a favorite part? like–you couldn’t do without it?”
A SAD SMILE was placed on her features , ❝ well technically this place is a summer camp , some people stay the entire year though . i used to go home but it got too dangerous so now i just stay here , i haven’t talked to my mom in a while but i guess that’s just what comes with the territory . ❞
lydia missed her mother , of course she did , however being a danger to the people she cared about wasn’t the way she wanted to be with them . lydia had been found in a lot of dangerous situations over the years , more than even the average demigod . ironic , she wasn’t particularly strong or anything . she hadn’t even been claimed by a godly parent .
perhaps she was bitter over that , her godly parent didn’t even want her and yet she had to be isolated because of him . emerald hues glanced at scott’s face , a jumble of emotions was going through her . it was always like that , her eyes never hid the fact .
she pondered on the question for a bit , what was the best part of this place ?? there was so much to say . ❝ the people here . most of them are kind , they make you feel ... less alone . which is something most demigods desperately need . to not feel alone . ❞
