i must become a lionhearted girl ready for a f i g h t before I make the final sacrifice
That pinch of salt seemed to have done the trick. With the very few bandits left glancing at one another, it seemed they silently agreed with one another that it was time to go. As they scattered away, Mi Fang relaxed his posture, putting his swords away as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Ugh, finally…" he mumbled to himself. Hands rested on his hips, he turned around and returned to the young woman.
"What was I doing again…? Ah, right. Helping you or something."
Her bow was placed at her side, arrow no longer notched and set into her quiver. They were fleeing fast, and thus would not notice her placing her weapons aside... A breath leaving her with a sigh. That was fun, not really. Those dead men would have to be buried.
"Do know, I doubt they won't come back. They are tenacious after all. So, you should keep on moving," Baoyu gave a smile before heaving a breath, "And there is no need for it. I'll keep on moving. The next village should be a little more friendlier than that one. I still have a sword, so I should be fine even with a shortage of arrows."
What a peculiar creature man is; he can be both an angel and a monster.

Expectations were like fine pottery. The harder you held them, the more likely they were to crack.

"Someday we’ll look back on this and laugh."
"... Laugh? Pretty Lady, we're not in a good place at a good time... How is we are supposed to look back and laugh again?"
"You can’t talk your way out of this one."
"I may not, but it seems pointless to ask a question that gives nothing in the end, my Lady."

"Care to explain yourself?"
"What were you thinking?!"
"I cannot believe you!"
"You made a big mistake."
"I’ll never forgive you for this."
"You are grounded for a month!"
"I wish I could say I was surprised."
"I should have seen this coming."
"I trusted you."
"I thought you were better than that."
"Why should I give you another chance?"
"You did what?!”
"I thought you learned your lesson last time."
"You’ve really screwed up this time."
"Don’t even bother saying you’re sorry."
"You can’t talk your way out of this one."
"Yes, I still love you."
"We’ll move past this. Somehow."
"You’re going to spend the rest of your life making this up to me."
"I think you owe somebody an apology."
"Someday we’ll look back on this and laugh."
"So you’re out just to see what life has to offer? That’s a good method, I guess. Sounds a lot like that freeloader Maeda, but you at least got a good head on your shoulders.”
Masamune could get on board with that, but he was content being a lord himself. He had earned his place with a lot of pain and heartache he’d rather forget. There was no way he’d give it up even if it might be good for him. That would be letting the people who hadn’t believed in him win.
He was fine the way he was, but he admired people who could live so freely.
A freeloader? Oh no... She at least tries to pay back for hospitality. Well, as best as she could. There are some people who simply just let her stay out of pure kindness, no payments at all.
"I don't know this Maeda you speak of, but I think it may be similar. I usually have to pay for food and some lodging if I have to," the wanderer explained with that bright smile on her face, "You sound like you enjoy such things too, if I have to guess."

Alas, this nice company was going to be short-lived very soon, for she saw the road before her very eyes. It should not be hard to return every now and then, and Baoyu knew this land well enough to be invisible to any normal guard.
“I think this is when we part… If I am able, I would not mind returning here to see you another day my Lord.”
Funny how it was like she read his mind. She wanted the two to meet again as well. He had yet to ask for her name and present himself properly, but it felt as if it wasn’t needed yet. Everything was nice and warm between them anyway. "I would love to speak with you again. Please do take care, my Lady, because I deeply wish for this first meeting to not be our last."
It wasn't reading minds when she really wanted to return here. Baoyu liked company, it was surely missed as she meandered the lands. His wish was held close, granted it was something she promised often to herself.
"I have hope it will not be the last my Lord. Rest well and may we meet again," and with that she walked off once more.
“No need to thank me. The last thing I need is a group of vagrants terrorizing innocent people.” The fox turned, about ready to signal the end of this conversation. “I will be sending out word about the task at hand shortly. When my men are ready, they will find you.”
That was her cue. It would simply be wise to wait by the entrance of the village, from where she came in. The spot was very obvious, let alone her very appearance was enough to be spotted among the town's folk. If they were blind or that stupid, they'd probably not notice her.
"Very well. Good day to you my Lord," and she left his presence without another word.
"And what kind of experience is that?"
Masamune had always been pretty curious, but now he was less fueled by childish wonder and more by the fact that he hated not knowing things. When it came to people, though, he wanted to know their motivations.
"There are many experiences to be experienced, I wouldn't know where to start," it was honest, there was just too many things to see and find anywhere. Explaining such a thing would be too tall of an order, "Some are simply meeting and interacting with people, others are to know the land, some are battles, even if it isn't a true battle... It's a hard answer to give, since there is so much."
