The new mini-series Remakes is based on older drawings created mainly during high school. After years, I return to motifs that were created spontaneously back then, often with humorous exaggeration and without major ambitions. Instead of simply transcribing them, I translate them into contemporary painting language and paintings on canvas. The original drawings become the starting point for a new interpretation, in which the imagination of the time collides with contemporary experience and handwriting. Absurd characters and situations, fantastic creatures and grotesque situations acquire a new form and intensity. The series is not a return to the past, but a dialogue with my own visual archive, in which old ideas are given new life.
