2014년에는 우리에게 많은 일이 있었습니다. 아프더라도 잊지 말아야 할 것들은 오래도록 가슴에 새기고 같은 실수를 반복하지 말아야겠습니다. 2015년에는 사람들에게 위로와 힘이 될 수 있는 좋은 음악을 하고 싶습니다. 아래는 바라지의 음악 중 <비손>에 나오는 가사입니다. 이런 사람 되게 하소서. 세상살이 각박하나 제 한 몸 부귀만 좆지 말고 이웃을 돌아보아 헐벗고 굶주린 이 아프고 버려진 이 보듬어 챙길 줄 알고 모질고 험한 말로 상처주지 않고 위로하고 격려하여 따뜻하게 감싸주는 그런 사람 되게 하소서. 바라지-<비손> 중

Baraji, our sound is

Baraji is a purely Korean word, meaning “to support whole-heartedly, both materially and spiritually”. Here, it refers to the assiting voices to the main voice provided by accompanists during a traditional musical performance. The sound of baraji is especially maximized in the purification rituals of Jindo Island, in itself a unique musical style. The team Baraji will employ this particular technique as the major source of their performance. In addition, they strive to create new sounds, by adding percussion, instruments, and singing that can communicate with the modern audience.
