I don’t understand why so many people are pissing all over the new alert system test fail on Monday! It’s called a test for a reason!! It’s to TEST to see if something works!!! Obviously this TEST unveiled a malfunction in the system. Wouldn’t you rather see it fail now, during a TEST, rather than during an actual emergency?

But this is only the symptom of a bigger issue in today’s society. I call it the trigger finger effect; when people automatically criticize something without thinking through first. Let’s try to use our brains more than we already are people!!

What The Frak?

To steal a phrase from my all time favorite television series Battlestar Galactica, what the frak?

That's what I said to myself after taking a look at that second photo our Internet friend Dave sent me yesterday.  

To get you up to speed, he first claimed ownership of a picture I found via Google that showed what looked like German SS soldiers from World War II, but in more modern day type uniforms.  Everything surrounding them in the image had a very present day look as well.  The buildings, signs, automobiles, etc.  Come to think of it, they all looked a little futuristic but not overly so.

So, on to this new picture.  What shocked me about it was how similar it looked to the first photo, with the same kind of elements but the soldiers looked like imperial Japaneses troops from the 1940's.  And, here's the kicker, it was dated just a few days ago! 

I forwarded it to a friend who's an expert in Photoshop to ask if he thought the picture was a fake.  The only thing is, he couldn't download it.  Something about being in the wrong format.  I then looked at the extension, did an Internet search but couldn't find it anywhere!

Then, to top it off, I tried uploading the image to this blog but got the same results. Unsupported file format!

Like I said at the beginning, What the Frak?

Further Confusion

I wasn't really expecting another email from this Dave guy so seeing a second message from him in my inbox was actually a bit startling.  In the subject line it said "More Evidence."  Hmmm, what could this be about?  Well, only one way to find out.  Let the reading begin!

Dear Dave.  I've located a more secure server so I'm able to contact you again with further evidence to back up my story.

Story?  He hasn't said crap about any "story yet!"

The first picture was only the beginning.  What you're going to see now will prove everything! 

Despite this Dave character not actually telling me anything yet I went ahead and opened the attachment.  What I saw made my jaw drop and skin crawl!

I have to send this photo to a friend who knows about this stuff.

Hopefully I'll be able to tell you more tomorrow.

Totally freaked out!!
