BlackRose was my number one dream cosplay as a kid! I loved .hack//Infection, Mutation, Outbreak and Quarantine so much. I originally made this costume in 2015, but this is my rebuild from 2020. For the armor, everything was made out of EVA foam, and the breastplate base was an old strapless bra I had lying around. I re-purposed the tights, loincloth fabric, and wig (just re-styled it) from my 2015 cosplay, as well as the sword that was built with the help of my brother-in-law back then too. Everything else was created new, and since I was furloughed at the time I had all the time in the world to get everything perfectly how I wanted.

I even designed the tattoos myself on Illustrator! They're available for purchase on my ko-fi.

Hung out at Colorado Anime Fest for a couple of hours as Micolash! Made my boyfriend take a few pictures of me while chilling up at the much cooler upstairs so I didn't sweat to death. Gotta practice my shit-eating grin but overall I was so happy to wear this and so happy that people asked for photos!!! Also if Mergo has a physical form, they'd look like baby Cthuluhu. Change my mind.

UPDATE: A little highlight video from Friday while cos-testing. This version of the Mensis cage is NOT final but I will be wearing this for Colorado Anime Fest 2018. I will be totally remaking it for Anime Mid-Atlantic in June and, with hope, I will have learned from my mistakes on the past two versions I’ve created. Anywho, I absolutely love wearing Micolash and pretty much spent 2+ hours roaming my apartment sending terrible snaps to my friends.

It’s been well over a year since I’ve posted, or made any cosplay-related progress BUT I finally have something to show after a long year of no costume work. I’m currently putting together Micolash, Host of the Nightmare from Bloodborne. I will be posting more progress shots of this because I’m already very proud of myself. I’ve got the robe mostly done apart from weathering and interior touch ups. Waiting on some things in the mail as well so this is still very rough. I’m starting on the Mensis cage this weekend so stay tuned.

Flapjack & Bubbie! Since Lapis Lazuli was my most expensive costume yet, Flapjack was my least expensive costume I've probably ever made. Debuting this at HoshiCon was the most fun I had with a costume previously; it was a tremulous hit with everyone and I had free candy to give out to anyone who came up to me. Bubbie was a last minute addition but I loved how she turned out. Overall, this costume is the one I am most proud of. Lapis Lazuli was by far the most difficult and expensive costume I’ve done to date. I was so fortunate to have the help of @saccharineflood (my beautiful Jasper) as well as @pretty-princess-eren and @ alistarrpandc (https://m.facebook.com/alistarrpandc/) for helping me get into and out of this super time consuming costume.

Ready for HoshiCon? I sure am! Don't have any solidified times for these costumes but all of them will be appearing 100% this time which is the first con ever that I've been able to complete all the costumes on my to-do list which is one hell of an accomplishment. Will post pictures soon!

ColossalCon Update! 

Lots of things have changed, mostly because of money issues and time constraints. I am definitely still debuting swimsuit Bee but that’s about the only thing that has stayed the same. 

I decided to create an original Mermaid costume and scrap together a cute, fashionable swim Chibi Moon.

Other than that, under my “maybes”, I hope to have Flapjack finally finished and there is a chance that I will also have a punk!Lapis as well.

I meant to update prior but I have a new plan for MagFest! Since it so happens I'll only be at MagFest for a total of 2 days as well as commuting, I'm likely going to only do 2 costumes out of the 3 or 4 I originally intended to put together. Also, because of the commuting factor I will NOT be doing Lapis Lazuli. I'm saving that one for HoshiCon in the summer. What I will be doing is: Fem!General Hux (with my bff doing fem!Kylo Ren) & kigurumi Bee for certain. If I have my trashy modern AU goth Hux costume together I might wear it for the hell of it. Change of schedule mostly because I'm Star Wars trash and cannot help myself.
