Send 🚤 to go fishing with my muse
@barknife
* Conviction? Are you ready to go fishing with me?
* [Fishing, another new hobby Angelo is throwing himself into to relieve his boredom. At least he’s passionate about giving it a try, completely decked in fisher gear, even including a hat that has fishing tackle hanging from the brim, albeit all fake ones with dulled hooks, a high quality fishing rod, and a tackle box stocked to the brim with tackle, bait, and other supplies.]
* [At least he’s trying to share the hobby with another, though his choice seems somewhat strange from an outside perspective, Conviction doesn’t seem like one who would enjoy something like that, which really surprised him when she had agreed.]
* [Though maybe Scribe was a convincing factor in things.]
* [Conviction is back in her ninja suit by now, it having been dry-cleaned.. It seems to be even better fitting than before, now, even though it fit like a glove before. Maybe it was just because it was cleaner, having not been cleaned much in the years she had worn it. She’s also wearing a similar fisher’s hat, at the suggestion of Scribe, though she looks completely deadpan wearing it.] * Yes, I am ready. * Though I am still unsure what.. * this ‘fishing’ entails.
* [She still had her trusty tantos on her, same as always, though she had eventually become comfortable enough in the tower to leave them in Scribe’s room or otherwise disarm herself from time to time. The Seraph’s tower truly was leagues and bounds safer than even the most peaceful spots in Empress’s tower.]
* [Scribe did indeed convince the ninja dog, gently pushing her towards sharing some quality time with the Big dad god dog. Conviction stood in front of her friend, arms crossed, and, in her own words, Scribe convinced her.]
* “Personally, I just want to help satisfy this odd new curiousity he has in some mundane hobby without having to partake in it myself. He goes through these phases with them almost constantly and, odd as it is for the Seraph to be interested in these things, it does make him a bit happier for a while. But as much as I want him happy, i’m not sitting in a boat in the middle of the lake for hours doing nothing but throwing lines out in the water.“
”…That…Sounds selfish now that I say it out loud. But…If you do it, at the very least, it gives you a reason to talk to him more. If not that, well, it’s something relatively ‘normal’ compared to what little you told me about where you lived before.“
* “…Perhaps you’re right, Scribe.”
* [That was all it took to convince Conviction, and now here she was, ready to depart with Angelo.]
* Excellent! I have already got our fishing spot ready, a lake full of fish far from civilization, far enough that no one will bother us. I had some of my children set up a few things depending how long we decide to stay, but it will just be me and you the entire time.
* [Just a shortcut away it seems, already opening the way there to simply step over. Always so convenient, and generally keeps the local inhabitants of the timeline from tracking and following him. From the looks of it, it leads to a beautiful lakeside surrounded by trees, sun bright and shining.]
* Fishing is easy, it seems, really an exercise in patience. There are a few techniques, sure, but it is mostly waiting. But this is my first time too so it will be a learning experience for everyone.
* Now then, ladies first!
* [Far enough from civilization so that nobody would bother them.. It couldn’t be a trap. No. It was always a trap. Empress would do this sort of thing to lead her away to kill her. But one thing rang out in Conviction’s mind, clearer than all her other conflicting thoughts. This dog wasn’t Empress. Not remotely. He would never do something like that.]
* [Conviction heistates.. it looks perfect. Too perfect. The tower was nothing like this.]
* ...I am patient, yes.
* And, if you insist, Seraph.
* [With that, she steps through the portal he’s made for the both of them into the lakeside that looked as if it was right out of some portrait or forgotten dream.. Miles and leagues away from the bloody, run-down hell that was Empress’s Tower.]
* I never thought... never thought I’d be away from there.
* [...Subtly, her haiku mannerism breaks, a tell that went to show how shaken she was.]
