It wasnβt unusual for YN to turn up at the Styles house out of the blue, it was basically her second home. Whether Harry was there or not, she was let in to hang out with the rest of his family.
This time wasnβt any different, though she did turn up looking a bit upset. Anne didnβt question it too much, allowing her in and calling Harry from his room.
βAre you okay, sweetheart?β Anne asked, gently stroking her cheek after she had removed her shoes and jacket. She didnβt know what had upset the young teen, but she was always happy to listen whenever possible. Even if she was just complaining about her son.
βY-yeah,β YN breathed out, her eyes falling on Harry on the stairs behind her. βHi,β she whispered to him, as fresh tears were leaking out of her eyes. And he was quickly rushing down the last of the steps to hug her against his body.
βHey, whatβs wrong? Baby,β he whispered in her ear, rubbing her back as he tried to be as supportive as possible. He may not know what had his girlfriend in tears, but he would do anything to bring back her smile.
βCan we- can we talk in- your room?β She managed to get out, lifting her head from his shoulder. Her face wet as she sucked on her bottom lip, and he was quickly nodding his head without a second thought. His hand slipping into hers and gently taking her upstairs to his room.
She had been in here many times before, if they werenβt here, then they were at her own place. But Anne gave them more privacy than her own mother, so it was common they ended up here. Harry was pulling back his duvet, crawling into the bed and opening his arms for her. And she had zero hesitation as she was crawling into his bed and cuddled up to him.
βWhatβs wrong, flower?β He whispered to her, his fingers gently stroking through her hair as he leaned against his headboard.
βYou remember- remember when my parents were away for that night, and- and you lied to your mum about sleeping over- at- at Jakeβs?β
βAnd I was actually at yours,β he added, frowning a little as he looked down at her. βI couldnβt forget that night, you know that.β
Of course he couldnβt forget, it was the first time they had sex. They had lost their virginities to each other, and he would never ever forget that night for that reason. There had been so much love in the room, and it had been more magical than he could have ever predicted.
βHarry, Iβm pregnant,β she announced to him, her voice flat. Her fingers curled into the hoodie he wore, but she didnβt dare tilt her head to catch his reaction. She didnβt want to see it.
They were 16, freshly turned. Their GCSEβs were soon, and this was the last thing they ever dreamed about having to worry about. They were definitely not ready to be parents, they were still kids themselves.
βY-youβre- how sure?β Harry stuttered, though his hand hadnβt stopped caressing through her hair. The couple laid there for a while, as YN let out all of her tears and Harry held his own back. Itβs not that he didnβt cry, or he didnβt want to. He just wanted to focus on his flower for now, and deal with his own emotions once things were sorted
An hour later, YN had cried herself to sleep, and Harry was carefully laying her down against his pillow. It wasnβt the first time they had ended up asleep in his bed, and he was sure it wouldnβt be the last. Anne didnβt seem to mind, she knew they would be safe. And as much as he wanted to join her, he knew she would be extremely dehydrated when she woke up.
Making the trek down to the kitchen, his hoodie still damp with the tears of his girlfriend as he was opening the fridge door. Movement behind him followed by footsteps on the staircase suggested to him that Gemma was leaving him and his mum alone. To talk.
βIs YN alright? Fight with her family?β Anne asked, leaning against the sink with her arms folded against her chest, concern clear as day on her expression.
It wasnβt that YN had a poor relationship with her family, but it was known that she would butt heads with her mum more often than not. Usually when it came to that time of the month, where all their cycles were synced and it was just hormones going out of control. Anne was more than aware of these, being a shoulder to cry on for the young girl many times.
βNβno, not her family,β Harry said, sounding dismissive as he was taking out his water bottle. Hanging on the door as he searched for a suitable snack for when his girlfriend woke up.
βH, she wasβ Iβve never heard her cry like that, is she okay?β And honestly, that alone had Harryβs heart doing flips. He loved that his mother cared for his girlfriend so much, that she had been accepted into the family though they were only young and in love, as YNβs own parents would say.
βSheβsββ Harry shut the fridge door, biting down on his lip as he glanced at his mother. He wasnβt sure if he should say anything, he knew his mother would never be outwardly mad at him or YN. Not to their faces. βWe had sex.β
The way Harry had delivered the line, it was perfectly deadpan. And it had left Anne a little stunned, as she was definitely not expecting that response from her youngest at all. Of course, she knew they had been experimenting a little, and thatβs why she gave them the space they needed. If they didnβt do it in the comfort of one of their houses, theyβd be doing it somewhere they could end up arrested. And she had spoken to Harry about using condoms, and even supplied him with some the same day.
βOkay, andβ does she regret it, or, feel like she didnβtβ¦ perform?β Anne asked him, trying to understand why her sons girlfriend would be crying because of sex.
βNoβ wellβ okay, she probably does regret it, but not forββ he huffed, his fingers curling in his brown curls, tilting his head back and squeezing his eyes shut. βSheβs pregnant, mum.β
And you could hear a penny drop. Harryβs head tilted slightly to see his mothers stunned reaction, as she tried her best to collect her thoughts.
βDid youββ
βWe used a condom, I guessβ maybeβ it broke? Or?β He shrugged, leaning against the kitchen cupboards as he sighed. βMumβ¦ I donβt know how to help her,β he breathed out defeatedly, shaking his head as he set the water bottle on the side.Β
And then Harry crumbled, letting down the wall he was using to hold YN up. His mum quick to catch him, allowing him to sob into her arms this time.
When YN woke up, alone in her boyfriends bed, she was changing out of her hoodie and slipping on one of his. Loving the fact that his scent engulfed her the second she did, before she was making her way downstairs to find her lover.
In the kitchen, sat next to his mother at the breakfast table. Cup of tea in hand, mid sentence when the sound of the fridge opening caught their attention.
βOhβ fuckβ I was supposed to bring up some water for you,β Harry confessed, looking guilty as he watched her pull out a fresh, cold water bottle and open it. Downing half of it instantly before she was shuffling her way over to him and his mum. βFeel better?β He mumbled, his arm wrapping around her shoulders as she pulled her seat close to his and snuggled up into his side.
Her head shook slightly, laying her head against his shoulder as she played with her water bottle. Sucking on her bottom lip, enjoying the feeling of his lips pressing against her hair.
βYNβ¦ Harry told me whatβs going on,β Anne confessed, which had YNβs eyes snapping to meet hers in a panic. βNoβ donβt worry, okay? He had a bit of a cry, only telling me cause he didnβt know how to help you. And Iβm not mad,β she explained, an encouraging smile on her face as she looked at the teen girl.
βYouβre not?β She whispered, biting at her bottom lip as her fingers found their way into Harryβs hoodie pocket.
βNot at all. H explained what he thinks might have happened that night, and itβs probable the condom was faulty,β she said, nodding as her hands readjusted their grip on her mug. βThe only thing that needs to be worked out isβ¦ what do you want to do?β
And YN kind of felt like a deer in headlights as both Anne and Harry were looking at her. And she definitely didnβt have an answer. Yet.

Days turned to week turned to months turned to a year. Thatβs how long it had been since YN had left Harry in the coffee shop. They had had minimal contact, a few texts here and then. Nothing that stood out too much, mostly congratulating each other on new career opportunities that appeared and award shows. A possible, βI saw you in London today, you looked busy so didnβt say hi.β It wasβ¦ awkward.
Of course, she had dropped a bombshell on him. His manager was the reason they split, but it also wasnβt as black and white as that. There were layers to it. Ones he knew about, and ones he didnβt. βI- I spoke to Jeff,β he began, cradling his coffee mug between his hands. Thumb stroking the lip gently, looking at the dark liquid inside. This told her that he was currently working on more music, and made her wonder if that song was going to be on the album. She didnβt ask however. βHe was alsoβ¦ confused.β
YN nodded her head, dropping her eyes to her own liquid, made to her own colour preference. Just like he had always done. βHe didnβt tell me to break up with you,β she said quietly, her lips rubbing together briefly. βHe just told me youβd have a better contract and career if you werenβt tied to me musically,β she added, glancing away at the mess of books on his entertainment system.
βSoβ¦ why did you break up with me?β Harry asked, his brow furrowed in adorable confusion. There was still a small part of her that wanted to lean in and kiss it away.
A shrug of her shoulders, a sip of her drink. βBecause you would be better off, you are better off. I basically did you a favour.β
βYou definitely did not,β he pointed out, setting his mug down firmly. βI was- I was fucking heartbroken, YN- I still am!β
βSo heartbroken youβve datedβ¦ how many women since?β
Harryβs face fell at the question, his head shaking as he pushed his curls away from his face. βThatβs not fair, you know itβs not as easy as that. So fucking cut up over you, of course they had to get me on stunt relationships so it doesnβt look like Iβm still singing about you, almost three years after weβve split.β
βOh, give it a break! You were not that in love with me,β she shook her head firmly, putting her own mug on the table and standing from her seat. βWe were never gonna last after the band split up anyway, you were with me out of convenience.β
βOut of convenience? Is that all I was to you?β His eyes fell, as the sadness wasnβt afraid to show. He had always felt comfortable, safe, around her. Never needing to hide his true emotions, and he wasnβt going to start now.
βThatβs all I was to you, Harry. Everyone saw it, they loved to keep reminding me,β she mumbled, rubbing her face with a deep huff. βI never should have come hereβ¦β
Harry stood up, looking at her as he sighed deeply. He didnβt say anything, yet neither did she. They just looked at each other, properly taking in all the ways the hiatus, the break up and everything since had changed them. Thenβ¦
Neither of them knew who was the first to move, but their lips were touching. βDo you- do you hate me?β He asked, the crease in his brow had returned as he watched her closely. Tongue wetting his lips as he sat back, tucking his hands into his hoodie pocket. βCause, you know. You were the one to break up with me.β

YN gaped, sitting back as she realised her mistake. All too used to the fact that she had to fight back, easily falling into a back-and-forth with everyone was second nature to her now. Some called her argumentative, but her team saw it for what it was. A defence mechanism. To stop herself from getting in too deep with someone new.
βNothing- I- this was a mistake.β She was picking up her coffee cup, lifting her bag up from where it had been hooked over the back of the chair. βUh- Iβll see you-β
βPeach, sit down and tell me what Jeff has to do with this,β he told her, pointing to the seat. And she hesitated, her eyes falling onto him, her lips pressed together. YN stared at him across her table, her tongue wetting her lips as she scoffed, shaking her head as she tipped it back. Fingers running through her hair, shorter than when she was in the band. One of the many changes she had made since the band broke up.
βI canβt believe youβre making me do this-β she released a soft groan, dropping her face into her hands followed by a deep huff. βJeffβs the reason I broke up with you.β
And it was like something snapped inside of Harry, his once pleading face was now cold. His eyes were dark, but there was also confusion there. He wasnβt sure what he was being told, he had definitely never heard this before. As far as he was aware, she broke up with him because she fell out of love, or something. The something had always bothered him, but he was raised to respect a womanβs wishes, so thatβs what he had done. It had killed him every day since, and some.
βWhy was Jeff- YN, please just tell me the truth.β
βWe had already announced we were splitting, hiatus, whatever everyone decided it was in their head. It was a break up. You were constantly in meetings with the Azoffβs, and you told them we were a package deal,β she mumbled, looking down at her hands in her lap. βThey just wanted you, Harry,β she whispered, shaking her head slightly as she looked over at him across the table. Her eyes wet as tears gathered against the bottom lid, threatening to fall yet not. βAnd he told me Iβd just hold you back and- And he was right. Look at you now.β
She gave him time to process what she had just told him, she was aware it was a lot. Itβs not every day that you find out your ex-girlfriend and current manager were lying to you for the past two years or so. It had hurt her as well in the moment, it was part of the reason she had stayed gone so long. Living in the shadows, hiding from the truth.
βWhy would- I donβt understand. He- He promised me he could get us both- I donβt-β Harry stumbled over his words, his mind racing a mile a minute as he removed his sunglasses from his head, running his fingers through his curls.
βIt all worked out though. You got a great team, a cool band. A hit of a debut album,β she shrugged, being dismissive to the fact that of course this would hurt them both to rehash. βAnd Iβve got the same.β
βPeach, thatβs not-β he stared at her, his mouth hanging open as he truly didnβt know what to say. He had gotten everything because of her sacrifice. And that stung. He had never wanted any of this if it wasnβt with her. The early days of the break up had been rough, rarely eating or sleeping. Focusing on channelling all his negative thoughts and energy into music, and yeah, it had gotten him a hit of a debut album. But he was sure he could have doubled his success if he had been writing and singing about being happy with her.
βI really need to go, I have two promos to do, but- you have my number,β she nodded her head as she was getting up again, this time not being stopped by him. Her lips were pressed together, looking down at him as she sniffled a little. βI really thought you knew,β she mumbled quietly, a slight nod of her head before she was walking out of the little coffee shop.

Of course she was the last one to go solo. The last one to bring out an album, the last one to showcase her own talents without the band. Part of her felt like it had all been a gift, one that she didnβt deserve at all. One that had been snatched away when she stopped cherishing it enough. And that is what happened. One Direction had gone on hiatus, and the rest of the boys had gone on to succeed. But there was always one question always mentioned whenever one of the boys succeeded.

After hiatus started, the five remaining members had all promised to keep in contact on the group chat. Theyβd all support each other through everything. But then solo contracts were being signed, tabloids were spilling the latest details of upcoming albums. They were all getting their own versions of success.

The second hiatus started, YN had gone silent on social media. Her last post being one about the band. There will never be a day where I donβt think about the barriers we broke. And it was evidently clear to her when the first story broke about one of the boys signing a solo contract, that she was alone with that statement.
YN got to watch as each of her best friends, her brothers, her lover, started to succeed on their own. The group chat had been silent for a while now. Yet there wasnβt a day that went by where she didnβt check it, to see if anyone was typing. And somehow, there never was. It was like the history of them, of the band had been forgotten by the other members.
It took her too long to channel that sadness, anger and sorrow into something productive. Two years of silence, two years of zero movement from YN YLN. And she was going to break the internet.

When her lead single, It Was Fine, was released, with the music video to match, the hype surrounding her and her album intensified. Her manager, Hannah, genuinely couldnβt believe it. They had been preparing themselves for a quiet launch, a few OG fans from the band who had stuck around, sure. But nothing of the scale that they were on.

YN felt on top of the world, her own words, her own lyrics were being repeated all around the globe. By fans who had been awaiting her return. By people who had stuck by her, though she had never made a single hint that she would be returning to music. It felt surreal to her, that she was getting such a wide amount of support. Even the boys had been singing her praises in their own interviews and social media posts. And it was only then that she got the message.

With the twins in the living room playing with their father, she was able to clean up the mess from dinner. Harry had tried to offer, insist even just because she had cooked - a good husband shares the chores, he reminded her, but the twins were begging for him to play with them as he had been out at the studio all day.
The eldest, Juniper, was over at a friend's house after school. Apparently a few of the girls were going over, and who were Harry and YN to say no. If anything, they were excited that their daughter even had friends.
The doorbell rang, and she was dropping the damp cloth on the counter top before walking through to the door. On the other side of the door was Juni, with her friend, Emma, and Emmaβs mother.
βHey, Juni, did you have fun?β She asked softly, happily accepting the hug she was receiving from her daughter, stroking her hair gently.
School uniform was a mess, as it usually was after she finished a day of education, with her ponytail just barely holding together. But the smile on her face was as bright as ever.
βTons, mummy!β Juni replied, as she was looking back at her friend.
βWas she good?β She asked the other mother, Kate, as she was gently rocking with her eldest.
βOh! She was absolute gold to have around, she even told the other girls off for making a mess of Emmaβs room with her toys!β Kate laughed softly, resting her hand on her daughter's shoulder.
βWell, next time, we shall host a little girls get together, maybe even a sleepover,β YN replied, a warm smile spread across her lips. She had been a bit worried that it wouldnβt be that much fun for her daughter, that the girls would change their mind and start saying nasty things.
βIβm sure all the girls would love that, we wish you could have come over though! Joined me and the other mums for a coffee,β Kate spoke, smiling back at her.
βI wish I could have, but I still had three other rugrats to keep tamed,β she joked in reply, as the sounds of squeals coming from the twins sounded at whatever game they were playing with their dad.

With the door closing, she was carefully hanging up Juniperβs bag on its correct hook with her coat, as the young girl was taking off her shoes and following the noise to the living room.
Harry was on his knees, his trusty claw clip holding his hair away from his face as he tickled the elder twin, Teddy. Laying beside his brother, Jazz was kicking his feet in the air with loud giggles.
βAlright, you three. If you wake Rose from her nap, youβll be changing her stinky nappy together,β YN warned as she was walking through to grab her phone from the side table. Harry laughed at her threat, his face bright with happiness as he was pulling his eldest daughter towards him.
βHey, June-Bug,β he greeted her softly, pressing a soft kiss to her head as he was hugging her to his chest, even though he was panting.
βDaddy, youβre all sweaty,β she complained, but she was giggling at the kisses he was smothering her face with.

βAlright, why donβt you three head into the play room for a bit before bathtime? Keep the noise down too, yβsisters sleeping.β
The three kids were instantly running off to the other room, and he had zero worries about them fighting. In the early days, once the boys were more mobile and could speak a little, they had to have lots of talks about sharing the space and the toys. Now it was like second nature to them.
Walking into the kitchen, he stepped up behind his wife with his arms carefully snaking around her waist. Pressing a line of kisses along her shoulder and up her neck, feeling the stress leave her body as she relaxed back against him.

Lighting the last candle on the coffee table, your heart starts beating faster when the doorbell goes off. You look around, trying to spot things out of place, and when you canβt see anything out of the ordinary, you walk to the door.
He stands there with his overnight duffel, a hair-clip holding the front of his hair, and heβs got his big sunglasses on his face despite the gloomy weather outside.
He smiles, too big, and holds his duffel upβ smile getting bigger and bigger.

The night goes by, you eat your gluten-free pasta on the sofa, side by side with feet on the coffee table. You watch reruns of Doctor Who as he makes little comments here and there, and when itβs bedtime, you both make your way into your bedroom, Harry immediately going for his duffel bag.
You watch him take his stuff out, and you crack a smile when you notice heβs taking out his skincare products instead of clothing items.
You follow him into your ensuite, and you fall into a routine as you brush your teeth side by side, shoulders touching, and you do your nighttime skincare routine together, Harry asking what each product do.
βIs that a serum?β
βYes.β
βCan I use it?β He asks, turning to you.
βItβs for dry skin,β you rub the serum into your skin while he watches. βYou have combination skin.β

Twitch was your usual domain for creating content, but you also never shied away from creating a YouTube video. Especially when Harry was away and you had a bit more free time. But this had actually been his suggestion.
You were set up at your usual desktop, rubbing your lips together as she glanced over at him at his own desk space. Harry wasnβt a gamer, other than the occasional few games of FIFA on the Xbox - especially if he was chatting to any of the boys. But he knew it was a big outlet for you, helping you through some of your darkest moments.
He was fiddling with the brand new webcam that you had gotten set up above his monitor, a slight crease in his brow.
βWe donβt have to do this, H,β you reminded him gently, biting down on your lip as you watched him.
βIt was my idea, Sun,β he reminded you in return, blowing you a soft kiss with the warmest smile.
Come the end of recording, you were rolling your eyes at him playfully as you turned off his recording equipment. He had a smug smirk on his face though, tugging you to sit down on his lap as he pressed a soft kiss to your cheek.
βIβm sorry,β he whispered against your skin, as he was rubbing your side. And you couldnβt stay mad at him for long, as you knew both your and his fans would love the content.
The video started on your minecraft character, in its usual skin in a brand new world with your webcam placed in the upper left corner. You were giggling as you spam crouched in your usual greeting.

Solaris here and today weβre gonna be doing something a little different-β you paused as sounds of a pig being hurt were being heard. βIβm gonna regret this!β You declared, when the laugh of your boyfriend joined the noises. Changing your point of view in the game, you were now looking at Harryβs character who was punching a pig. βHarry!β You complained, running up and punching him once.
βHe looked at me funny!β He declared, as the video switched to his point of view with his own webcam in the upper right. βHi, lovie,β he smiled happily, as he lovingly punched you in the game.
βHi, H,β you returned the smile, giggling as you were jumping happily in the game. βWould you like to play minecraft with me?β
βOf course, mβlove,β he had the warmest smile on his face throughout the entire video.
It didnβt take you long to find somewhere to build a house, which you quickly set to work on building. Harry was hunting for food, when he let out a yell of surprise. And in the distance from your point of view, you heard an explosion.
βBaby, are you okay?β You panicked, as you were rushing off to find him.

βYβstill got mine,β you reminded him, and the camera definitely picked up on the shy blush on his cheeks.
Getting back to the base, Harry took a wander around as he complimented the vision and style. Before he was laughing loudly, when he saw the bedroom set up.

βAsk you what, baby?β You asked him, as you followed him into the bedroom of your base.
βIf we can put our beds together!β He laughed, as he was breaking one of the beds and placing it against a different wall. You gasped, eyes widening as you looked around the two desks to look at him. βWhat?β
βI didnβt realise you wanted to break up, Harry Styles,β you pointed out to him, as you were hitting his character playfully.
βYβjust snore, so much,β he replied, teasingly as he was laughing.
βNever playing minecraft with you again,β you pouted, shaking your head as you were walking away from him.
What you werenβt expecting however was for Harry to take out his iron sword that you had stolen from a village and gifted to him as a present, and start hitting you with it. Your character dying before you even had the chance to react.
βHarry!β You complained loudly, staring at your death screen, hovering over the respawn button.
βOh! You had a green thing,β he said, as he was picking up all your items, completely ignoring you. βAn emeraldβ¦ I want one!β
βHarry, you killed me!β
βSun, baby,β he tried to reason, but you were pressing the respawn button and you werenβt inside the room. Eyes widening as you looked over at the real him, panic beginning to set in. βBaby, Iβm sor-!β
Thereβs a sudden cut, and both face cams were on the screen in their own corners, and the two in-game characters were standing together. Harry was looking a little sheepish, as he licked his lips nervously.
βMinecraft, the game where you can create absolutely anything. But apparently, also destroy your relationship,β you started saying, with a small pout on your lips.
βBut most importantly, the game where you can put your minecraft beds together, and have green things explode and steal your hearts,β Harry added, laughing.
βIβve been Solaris, heβs been Harry. Stream Harryβs House on everything, and we shall see you next time!β

She was happily laughing and chatting away to the chat box that would scroll up faster than she could reply. Playing her game, The Sims 4, as she entertained over a hundred people. Unaware of her boyfriend entering their shared house.
βOh, my gosh! You guysβ another baby, really?β She laughed at the redemption her chat pushed through. βGonna make me lose my damn mind!β
The door behind her pushed open, the little creek that was a dead giveaway that her boyfriend was lurking in her stream room. Looking to the right, her grin grew at the sight of his tired face. He raised his hand in a silent greeting, knowing that if he spoke her mic could pick up on his voice.
βAlright, hold on, guys. The boyfriend just got home, so Iβm gonna take a short breakβ make sure you stretch, take a pee break and get some more water and snacks!β She waved at her camera before pressing some buttons on her stream deck to mute her mic and change to her Be Right Back screen. Before she was turning to him with the biggest grin.
βHey, Sun,β he greeted her softly, smiling as he stepped inside, knowing it was now safe. βHowβs it going today?β
βReally good, how was the studio?β She asked him in reply, leaning back in her chair as he was leaning over her. His hands rested on the arms of her chair.
βIt was good, Sarah mentioned coming byβ said Iβd let you choose when,β he hummed out, as he was leaning down and brushing a gentle, chaste kiss to her lips. βTaste like strawberries,β he mumbled, as he was stealing another kiss from her.
βWearing your favourite,β she mumbled, enjoying the kisses she was receiving from him. Relishing in his affection, as she cupped his face between her hands gently.

Seeing the chat was flooded with messages, which wasnβt unusual but they were all saying similar things.

She stared at the chat going a mile a minute with all similar messages, feeling her entire body go numb as her viewer number was just rising as more and more people found out that Harry was on her stream.

On her monitor that didnβt show her game, was her webcam on her main chatting screen. And they were the main focus, as she stared in horror at the fact that they were now officially public.
Then her reflexes kicked in, and she was pressing End Stream on the software before she was sitting back. Harryβs hands rested on her shoulders, rubbing them gently as he tried to calm her down. His phone was already ringing in his pocket, and he knew he should answer it. It was probably Jeff, who would have been informed the second tweets started being made about the stream. But he had far more important things to worry about.
βHey, itβs okay, itβs okay,β he cooed softly, and they stayed there a while. Him whispering soft reassurances as she recollected herself.
It took him half an hour to calm her down, holding her on his lap, cuddled against his chest as he rubbed her back absent-mindedly. With the position, he was able to reply to the many texts he was receiving from Jeff, and other management. It just didnβt feel real to her, that their bubble had popped. Two years of hard work, gone. By the accidental push of a button.

You and Harry had come out to the fields just past the motorway, by your house, so you could have a picnic in peace. This was one of your favourite spots together. A place where you could both be free and yourselves, together. To stargaze and cloud watch and pick pretty flowers in the meadows together.
It was a hot summers day and it was a perfect excuse to run away to the top of this field and just do nothing, but have a picnic and be together.
The view stretched for miles. You could see the motorway that youβd driven on to get here. You could see the Lake District mountains in the distance. You couldnβt spot a single cloud, the skies instead being a beautiful blue. It was a perfect day to tan and catch some healthy rays.
You were wearing a white sundress ( * ) with your Birkenstocks and Harry was wearing a cream cotton set, shorts and an over-shirt, with a tank underneath. Both of you looked cottage-core perfect and felt like a very matching couple today.
βHey!β You shouted, as Harry stole your straw woven hat off your head.
You were both laying down on the red checkered picnic blanket. Harry lay on his side, propped up on his arm, whilst you were laying on your front, your face closest to him.
He placed the hat on top of his head and chuckled at your putting expression. βThen donβt be mean if you donβt want me to be mean back.β
βI wasnβt being mean.β You sighed.
βYou said I had a grey hair. So now Iβm covering it up.β He grumbled, picking at the strawberries in the pot in front of him.
βI never said that was a bad thing. I like me an older man, anyways.β You teased, catching his face with your eyes and urging him to lean down as you were leaning up.
Your lips softly touched his, a tiny smacking nose sounding when you broke apart.
βYouβre lucky youβre cute and taste like strawberries.β He smiled, pecking your delicious lips for another time before giving you your hat back. You smiled and Harry knew that heβd done the right thing, because that smile was worth more than hiding a grey hair. Especially when he knew youβd love him regardless.
You hummed at him and kept your eyes on his. Both of you not saying anything, but simply looking at each other. It silently turned into a staring contest and you tried your best not to smile as his lips turned upwards. His eyes were so pretty that you could look at them all day. Before you could win, Harry leaned down and gave you another kiss to your lips and it made you blink.
βI won.β As he pulled back he spoke.
βYou cheated.β You giggled, tipping your hat back slightly so you could see him better.
βThere were no rules set, baby.β He leaned forwards and kissed your nose softly. You could never be mad at him. βPlus, I couldnβt not kiss you when youβre looking this pretty.β
βYou think?β
βArt gallery worthy.β He spoke quietly, even though it was just the two of you. He didnβt want his words to be carried in the wind away from you both.

βIβm going to take a picture of you.β He said, causing you to lift your head. He smiled when you saw your pursed lips and squinting eyes. You knew, though, that there was no changing his mind so you agreed.
βWhereβd you want me?β You asked and he wiggled his eyebrows. βNot like that, yβknob.β You pushed his chest and he toppled over on his back laughing and it made you laugh yourself.
βAnywhere.β He said once heβd stopped laughing, before sitting up and collecting the items he would need for taking photos.
Harry was an avid photographer in his spare him, which most people could guess but a lot of people didnβt realise just how much. It was a genuine hobby and a lot of the photos and artwork up in your house had been captured and edited by Harry himself. He invested in good quality camera equipment and made sure all his photos of you were taken on his best quality camera.
Once he was set up, he started taking candid photos of you. Ones where you were laughing at something he had said and others of you smiling simply because you are so happy. Some of you eating the strawberries and others of you holding out the fruit as if to gift it to Harry. He took a few of you laying on your back pretending to cloud watch, before taking some of you walking around the flowery fields and collecting pretty flowers between your fingers. A butterfly even landed on your finger at one point and the way your eyes lit up was not even camera worthy.
βGot your fix yet?β You asked, twirling around in your summers dress and holding onto your hat so that it didnβt fall off.
βNever when it comes to you.β He smiled behind his camera.
You both took some together too, setting up self timers so that they looked a little more candid.
Some photos were of you and Harry pretending to walk off across the flowery field. Others included you and Harry laughing and smiling with each other. There was a few where you were happily kissing each other and wrapped in each others arms. A few where you were sat again at the picnic blanket and feeding each other food, making a mess with the juicy fruits. Harry complained that he was sticky at one point, so there was a couple of photos of you sucking the juice off his fingers.
The photos were going to be happy memories to look back on, just like the day was to live through.

The house is quiet apart from the squeaky noises coming from the kitchen as Harry washes the pot they used for their dinner. Billy Joel comes on shuffle, and it makes him laugh, knowing Y/N would pout and reach for the device to skip Joel, not on my watch, Harry.
Though, he finds it strange, how she's still upstairs, despite knowing Theadora is asleep because she's texted him a photo of her milk-drunk, sleeping face from upstairs, in her cosy crib. Mission accomplished, will be there in a mo.
A momentβ moments pass, but Y/N is nowhere to be found.
He places the last dish on the rack, and wipes his hand on the pink tea towel before turning his back to the sink. He makes his way upstairs, as quiet as one can be despite the creaking floorboards, and stops in front of their bedroom door. It's not shut completely, it's ajar, and he watches Y/N on the bedβ in the bed, with one of his hoodies on, despite the temperature of the house: it's hot.
Normally, you would find their little family chilling in their short sleeves, maybe some pyjama shorts, or in true Harry fashion, as naked as one can be with a nine month old. Thus, it is extremely weird how she decided to put on a hoodie, rather than staying in her comfortable attire from earlier, a ratty band t-shirt and some shorts.
"Baby," Harry opens the door wider, and walks in. She looks up from her phone, and smiles.
It doesn't reach her eyes.
When she doesn't respond, he walks closer to their bed, and sits at the end. "What's going on?"
"What do you mean?"
"You didn't come downstairs, baby."
"Oh," a shrug, then she locks her phone. "Sorry."
Harry knows the tone of her voiceβ this one in particular. It's sad, confused, and everything in between. She's got a lot to say, he knows, but is choosing not to.
