Now that's some great Kentucky bourbon!
Happy Thirsty Thursday!
Golf: Where drinking and driving is encouraged
Let's take a moment and remember one of the best times you can have is out on the golf course. Drinking a beer and enjoying the scenery is what life is all about! Cheers!
It's Miller Time! Come into Mon Ami Gabi, Bethesda tonight for the infamous Miller Brothers bartending and live jazz from 6:30 to 9:30 tonight.
Here is a picture of Warehouse âHâ, the location that they make Blantonâs at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. I took this picture in November 2014, while on a tour of the distillery. Unfortunately, they did not take us into the beautiful warehouse.Â
Whiskey Wednesdays
Letâs talk about one of my favorite spirits! In honor of American Independence day, today I want to talk about Bourbon. As I sit here, sipping on a single barrel batch of Blantonâs. A Kentucky Bourbon named after Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton. No I'm not lying, his middle name was bacon!
Blanton worked at what we now call Buffalo Trace Distillery for 55 years. (no biggie) Retiring in 1955, they named the distillery after him that year. He believed that the best bourbon came from the middle of warehouse âHâ in which he personally made the Single Barrel Bourbon in limited supply for the privileged like, politicians, ambassadors and family and friends. More to follow...
TASTE NOTES: This bourbon has a smooth nose, immediately getting a smell of vanilla, oak, caramel, honey and spices. Full bodied, and long finish that is warm all the way down to the belly.Â
