Charlie exhaled, deep and through her nose, but didn’t dare pull away from Bailey. The firm grasp she once had on reality was far out the window by now, her hands tangling themselves in their soft hair. She was attracted to Bailey, she couldn’t deny that much, but something about this still didn’t feel right. She didn’t pause until the other pulled her into their lap.
Charlie was hesitant at first. Out of all things in the world, she loved feeling wanted the most, but that certainly didn’t justify this kind of behavior. After another sigh against their lips, she reluctantly pulled away, hands dropping to Bailey’s shoulders. She glanced down at them apologetically. “I– I don’t think this is a good idea.”
Bailey realized what was happening and immediately pulled back, allowing Charlie to get off of their lap as their face reddened. It felt as if all of the alcohol they’d had just hit them all at once. “I’m so sorry,” they blurted out, feeling horrible, like they had crossed a line. They had read things so wrong and they couldn’t get out of here fast enough. While they had been prepared for the reaction to the first initial kiss, when they’d gotten past that, they thought it was okay. Now they didn’t know what to say or do. “You’re right, I-- shouldn’t have done that.” Not meeting her gaze, they scrambled to their feet, their stomach in knots as they came to the realization that they had just completely embarrassed themselves in front of someone they admired. Their bag was still on the floor, but it didn’t even cross their mind right then.
“I’d appreciate it if we could just.. pretend this night never happened” they mumbled, still refusing to meet her eyes with their own as they started toward the door. It wasn’t Charlie’s fault if she wasn’t interested in them that way, but it was going to be difficult to be around her at all now. They had told her some very personal things tonight, things they didn’t care for anyone else to know. They looked up just to promise, “I won’t tell anyone,” before they disappeared off the tour bus. Their stomach was hurting from the alcohol they’d drank mixed with the volatile emotions churning through them. It wasn’t long before they were vomiting, pulling their hair back as they lost their lunch on the ground several feet from Charlie’s tour bus. They were afraid they were never going to live this down, even if no one else knew. Searching the ground, they unceremoniously covered their mess with dry leaves before getting away as quickly as they could manage in their drunken state.
