The potential that water possesses is full of life. These potentials are not only physically limited, but they shape the cultural and social structure of human life. Sometimes water is the main factor of a design, a component of a chemical substance, It is a raindrop that will join the cycle in the wild, a source of community life, an architectural element, a concept in biology, a part of a religious ceramony, or art material. In fact, water is everything and in eveywhere. Most are the beginning of the return. Process, formation, design, life, history, landscape, culture, habitat, influence, nature, infrastructure ...
Water can be regarded as an infrastructure that is not limited only to technical knowledge and is associated with direct identification. ‘’It has been included in a growing network since the past. With the development of technology, new potentials are discovered along with the progressive design dimension. It is a place beyond the physical / social relations in the primitive scale that was established in the past.’’(ARUP, Desing with Water) Though included in a wider Spread of Circulation (economic, social, political) than the main factors that water creates and influences, it is always based on natural systems. The network of large systems, including water, makes it inconsiderable from life.
Water is a process that changes the places when it touches. Everywhere water touch, leaves a trace. It does not only mean physical life; but also in social, environmental, economic life water is a very basic element in the progress. It is the main source of life forms. ‘’Cycle is the main source of life, and this cycle is influenced by global systems and small scale location actions. The best catchment is scaled understood. Catchment are usually biological regions based on natural systems that transcend political, economic and socio-cultural boundaries.’’(ARUP, Desing with Water) The natural environments in which every living organism, from water micro scale to macro scale to scale, are included, the new geographies that habitats reach, and the lives they exchange at every point along the way are just common examples to understand their critical importance.
For people, from primitive communities to urban plans, to habitats for animals, to plants, the living area of each creature is positioned relative to water.
Climate, soil, topography, population, health, agriculture, occupations, quality of life etc. All these factors are shaped mainly by being influenced by the presence and absence of the water, in addition to being connected to a lot of different geographies.
Dynamism that is so invisible to any other natural body feels that the basic building stone of nature is water. In addition, this dynamism encourages people to find innovative solutions and feels that they are not a point that they do not touch and do not effect on the earth.
Continuity of existence, affecting everything and all the changes it makes,the traces of time makes visible, It becomes a mirror to exchanges. Marc Wilson said in the last sand project that he intended to remind the time of the landscaping and the exchange of objects it contained. The new landscapes created by the waters of the places where the objects belonging to the wars also exist for the time of war have a great history and social importance. This project, which shows that water can be an art and a monumental quality, is an important example that water has different potentials that will not come to pass through this variable structure.
Nile is the best example of the fact that water has been the center of life since ancient times. The Nile, as mentioned in the mythology, created Egypt. If not the Nile, there would be no agriculture, animal husbandry, civilization and of course life in this geography. Heredotos: ‘’Egypt is a gift of the Nile. " The city emphasized that the source of the formation of civilization is water.
As in the ancient times, the near future and nowadays it is the water basics as cities are being created using engineering and technology. ‘’A large part of the land is below sea level, and the Netherlands is trying to get control of the water for a long time. After the flood that led to the death of two thousand people in 1953, one of the seven modern wonders of the world started the selected DeltaWorks project. DeltaWorks, which provides protection against storms and floods and reduces coastal kits by 700km, has many advantages. Balancing sweet and salt water is facilitated. Sometimes water becomes a political material. There are wars for water, politics are shaped by natural formations. Strategies for dehydration are being developed while water is polluted by industrial invasions. Today, when architecture is still artificial, human beings are reshaped in order to live on the waterfront, while the natural waters and the waters of living things are destroyed. Areas such as farmland and fishing are affected negatively by water damage. This threatens the health of all living beings. The water that cleans up causes pollution to spread. So, sometimes The absence of water also causes new conditions such as existence dramatically.
Finally, water always exists indirectly or directly by assuming a causative role in all processes in the nature, with a process in the loop that it is always in. Also, Water has always had a critical prescription in the environment with positive and negative existences. It has always been effective in the formation of a place. Water is significantly important to create somewhere in terms of not only social and physical but also cultural, historical, ecological ways. Consequently, water is everywhere whether it appears or not, before it is somewhere.
