@bashbrothers
It’s so hard not to say it.
That darkness, though
I am having a heck of a time getting myself out for runs in the early onset darkness. I just don’t want to and I put this pressure on myself to get my runs in each week so I am feeling guilty about not going. I missed last week’s long run - I think I needed a break so I am trying to mentally prepare for a long run this Sunday.
Have you tried crossfit yet? Pls respond asap with details.
Miss you like 2012 Tumblrs miss Tumblr meetups.

SAME
Same. But like, one running group, one aptly named neighborhood in TO, and +/- a bunch of pounds.
I bought a running journal to keep track of my runs. (In addition to the spreadsheet, shhshhsh). I started getting my long (ish) runs in on Saturday mornings. Last weekend, I did 7k and it was at a faster pace than my shorter weeknight runs. This weekend, I’m increasing to 8k. I mean each weekend I’ll be increasing but you know...just mentally prepping for a 4k followed by 2x1k, and 1x2k. I can’t remember the last time I ran 8k, to be honest.
I may or may not have pulled out my old Around the Bay training plan and casually slotted in the distances. I can’t commit to 30k in March right now but I would love to give it a shot.
Since I run outside in American now, I can no longer listen to My Favorite Murder but I found an infertility podcast that is basically MFM for people trying to have babies. The hosts are a couple English gals, they make me laugh and distract me just enough to survive each run.
WE ARE DOING THE THING. So proud of you, eh.
I am 4-7 tiny piles of fruit on my plate and one green tea and 25-30 pounds away from being my weird old breakfast self.
Missing you this morning,
Dan
Hey pal, let’s never talk and only communicate via Instagram story like proper millennials.
Thick thighs thin patience,
Dan
I hope you’ve been running enough miles for the both of us. I’m on my bike a lot but haven’t ran in at least a month. Our softball team won first place and our team picture is going up in the grocery store above the liquor shelves, which is a pretty big deal for a town with no stop lights. We have a fun tournament this weekend and then it’s all over until next year.
I’ve had the Around the Bay website up on my computer for a couple of weeks. It’s a Barkley’s worth of Turkey Trots but I still feel like I could do it again, like, theoretically.
I need to see you again, real soon. To lay on the couch together with our husband between us and to ride places and find art. To talk about the broken heart feels that keep leaking and about the self care. To make lighthearted jokes about my new work stalker and then to cover it up with more jokes because it’s never dark enough to get serious these days.
I miss you always and hope your heart is warm and full.
Yers,
Dan
Oh heyyy
Dan. Sorry I’ve been delinquent. What have I even been doing? (Nothing).
It’s starting to cool down here, barely, so I’m excited to get running outside again. I’ve pretty much been running at the gym all summer so i didn’t ⚰️. I signed up for a Turkey Trot on (American) Thanksgiving. I just needed a thing to keep me moving. A stepping stone towards those long runs that I had such a love/hate for. I’m also thinking about signing up for a New Years Eve Resolution Run 5miler...Race Epic is that you?! And then of course straight onto 30k Around the Bay. jkjk.
What’s going on in your world? You need to blog more eh.
xo
Beachy
Gently pressuring you to return to our co-blog to co-blog with me.
-Dan
Throwback to the chub and also to the straight, eh Beachy? -Dan
Hi Beachy,
I’m sorry its been hot as balls in KY; I cannot relate to that in many ways so I’ll just say it is also very warm here. I hope you find another swim thing soon. If I keep signing up for Ironmans and you keep signing up for swim classes, we are bound to cross paths with @funnyrunner, right?
You never told me you were tracking calories and I’m sorry CrossFit didn’t work, but honestly it seems less stressful to punch numbers into an app than to flip a monster truck tire through a CVS parking lot while wearing a 75lb vest. We can still add #WOD to our posts if you want?
I checked for abs before my shower...nothing yet, but I remain optimistic. I ran 5k this evening and yesterday evening and my bike should be good to pick up from the shop tomorrow. I think I got sand or dirt in the bearings, something had to be cleaned and replaced. We fine. My legs are pulled pork. Its a good hurt.
I miss you. Summer is cruising by, as it does. We should probably plan to meet up again soon. You can bring your husband, I guess.
Sneakin’ right by you,
Dan
Quick update.
Still no abs.

DAN
I ran today too! Wednesday’s are for hills, as you know, so I did some hill intervals on the treadmill at lunchtime.
It’s hot as balls right now in Lex, so I’ve been running at the gym a lot. My swim class was just for June but it was really fun! I’ll probably join another, I really liked the Friday morning sessions. When I would finish, it felt like I had already done a bunch of work to make myself better and it was only 7:30am.
I’ve been tracking my calories again. Did I tell you that? It’s what worked that first time I lost a bunch of weight so I figured I should just get back to what I know worked. Note: Crossfit did not work. Anyway, my weight is slowly creeping down and every morning I wake hoping to catch a glimpse of my abdominals. No sign of them yet. Pls advise.
What’s wrong with bae?
I feel pretty boring right now. I have a hard time remembering what I used to blog about. Lots of run feels and 10x more selfies.
Look. Listen.
Yers,
Beachy
BEACHY
I ran today. Where the hell have you been? I know you’re thriving in that kid’s swim group. Tell me more. What is making you happy lately?
Missing you, as always.
Dan
Who are we?
Dan!
I’m glad you had a good day. It’s the best feeling at the end of a day to fall asleep with a super tired body from so much activity.
Let me give you an update. This morning I swam with the adults again with the rising of the sun. The coach is an older sir and this morning he was wearing a ‘got chlorine?’ t-shirt. I like that a lot. He is either always swimming or coaching swim. Seems like he’s doing it right.
I’ve been showering at the gym after swim. I’ve just never done it so it’s new and sort of a lot of planning to make sure you have all the things you need.
I did a lot of activities this week. Monday was treadmill intervals, Tuesday I swam and also went for a ride (no tree cats this time), Wednesday was hills night (up to 4 murdery hills), and this morning I had swim. So much moving and so much calorie tracking. My commitment level is pretty high right now so really trying to keep the momentum.
That’s about it. Nothing urg. Pretty much same same. We should plan a ride when I’m back in August!
Missing your snort laughs,
Beachy
Hey Beachy, I had the day off and I filled it with activities, half because it was my day off and half because I didn’t want to be alone. I used my day well, and I’m glad about that. Tell me how you’re doing? xo, Dan
I ran today, for the first time in a while. It felt like a mistake. It was hard and I’m still bad at it, but I was curious.
Hey Beachy, did you know I have a running blog?
xx
