What is your field of study? The last scientist I had the pleasure of meeting focussed his research on bats, surely you cannot top that?

Well, I should hope not, but we do not always give the impression we intend to. I wish you the best of luck in your retrieval mission.

Cryogenics and biology primarily. My research focuses on the eradication and arrest of cancerous and other diseased cells. I am very close to finding a cure for my beloved most cancers known in this world. Much more interesting than bats.

Clearly we have different ideas of calm. I still have to worry about financial aid, and essays, and loans, and grades…

Your research? I can relate to that last part, although I wouldn’t phrase it that way. Sounds unseemly, like the kind of transparent euphemism a mobster would use for illicit revenge.

I am a scientist. my laboratory is extensive and would be difficult to transport. I cannot move Nora at this time.

I do not have such overly dramatic and sinister motives. Someone has something of mine and I simply intend to retrieve it.

There is much I need to do in this city. Moving all of my research, for instance, would be cumbersome and unneeded. I also have unfinished business with a select few Gotham residents.

I’m certain it’s merely the eye of the storm, so to speak. And making statements like that is sure to tempt fate into hastening the oncoming tempest.

I care little for the turbulence of the city. I was merely pointing out how quiet things have become.
