The Adventures of Marinette Dupain-Cheng (Aged 7¾)
Summery: Marinette often goes and travels with her parents to events they cater for. After all, they can't go anywhere without their quality control and sabotage prevention manager! That's just failure written in cursive!
However, like any other 7¾ year old, she gets bored easily.
Watch as we follow along the Adventures of Marinette Dupain-Cheng! (Let's just hope it doesn't turn into a misadventure any time soon!)
A/N: Marinette thinks they just landed a dream client. Instead, they just adopted a feral Batcat and her billionaire chaos family.
(Credits to @luludeluluramblings I saw their post a while back when I wrote this, I forgot to credit them at the start because I forgot their user. I contacted them already, and they were really nice about it! So please go check them out! They deserve all the credit!)
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was a legend in the wedding planning world.
She didn’t just organize weddings—she saved them.
When venues burned down? She had backups.
When dresses ripped, tore, or got wine-spilled by drunk aunts with boundary issues? She sewed new ones—by hand, overnight.
When bridezillas turned into full kaijus mid-ceremony, Marinette tranquilized them with perfectly brewed jasmine tea and a thousand-yard stare that made even the most stubborn mother-in-law fold.
And the best part? No one knew how she did it. Just that she did. Every time.
Well. Almost no one knew.
Behind the curtain, hidden in her glitter-covered office was a collection of magical gods disguised as chattering trinkets.
“Don’t book the Villa di Magnifico,” barked Tikki one morning. “The energy is rancid. Someone will fall in the koi pond. Again.”
“Tell the Jones couple not to elope,” buzzed Nooroo, floating lazily. “He’s still texting his ex. Ugh. Mortals.”
“Charge double for the ones who ask for ‘a Boho Fairy Woodland Cosplay Princess wedding but on a $200 budget.’” growled Plagg, who was currently lounging in a vintage teacup. “Pain in my whiskers.”
Thus, with the collective power of the Kwamis’ ancient wisdom and Marinette’s type-A perfectionism, the business soared. Soirée Saveurs had its name whispered between celebrities, politicians, and socialites. Some said she was psychic. Others called her a miracle worker.
One person called her dangerous.
That person? Selina Kyle.
And she meant it as a compliment.
The first time Selina saw Marinette, she was elbow-deep in silk and tears, sewing a wedding dress in the supply closet of a vineyard, lit only by the glow of emergency fairy lights and spite.
The bride’s designer gown had been ruined by a jealous cousin with a red wine “accident.”
Marinette just smiled, tied her hair up, and got to work.
By dawn, the bride walked down the aisle in a gown more beautiful than the original—one that sparkled with hand-sewn beads, magic-infused lace, and a vengeance that could cut glass.
Selina fell in love. Not romantically—she had Bruce for that—but on a primal “I-will-collect-you-like-a-shiny-rock” level.
“You’re planning our wedding,” she declared, dragging Bruce into Marinette’s Parisian office a week later.
Bruce had protested at first. Not because he didn’t trust Selina’s taste—he did. Mostly. But because his kids were feral, Alfred was passive-aggressively stressed, and he was emotionally allergic to planning anything.
Then he met Marinette.
She was young. Too young. Barely mid-twenties and already commanding meetings with New York’s elite like she had them tied in ribbons.
And yet…
He watched as she effortlessly rearranged their wedding timeline, suggested alternate locations based on Selina’s preference for moonlight and Bruce’s tragic inability to survive pollen, and even offered a side service for “handling dramatic relatives with grace and quiet violence.”
Bruce blinked. “You’re… thorough.”
Marinette gave a business-cute smile. “Mr. Wayne, I’ve single-handedly prevented five divorces, seven scandals, and one cult uprising disguised as a bachelorette party. I have to be thorough.”
Selina beamed. “We’re hiring her.”
In the car, moments after leaving Marinette’s office…
Selina slowly turned her head to Bruce. Expression unreadable.
“I’m only going to ask this once,” she said, voice low, nails tapping against the leather armrest. “Did you sleep with the wedding planner?”
Bruce opened his mouth, closed it. Rubbed his temples.
“No,” he said at last. “I slept with her mother.”
Selina stared. The silence was absolute.
“…If we just met your kid and didn’t invite them to the wedding,” she said slowly, “I swear, Bruce, I’m about to make this cost you so much fucking money that you’ll actually feel it.”
Bruce sighed.
“I’ll get the checkbook ready,” he said, resigned. “We’ll add her to the guest list.”
Meanwhile… in Marinette’s office…
The second they walked out, Marinette threw off her heels and moonwalked across her floor.
“Asshole tax~ Asshole tax~” she sang, scribbling numbers in her invoice like an ecstatic goblin. “Gonna add the asshole tax~ Asshole tax~ Gonna fuckin’ tax his ass~”
Damian growls. “I told you to cease your baseless slander of Marinette. You continued to do so, and I demonstrated the consequences of such a poor decision.”
“Aww are you sad because I’m being mean to your little girlfriend?” Jason mocks, grin jagged like spikes. “Grow a pair Dami.”
“How about I take yours for recompense,” his youngest hisses.
“Enough!” Bruce orders, using the voice his kids knew meant business. “You both are acting like children.”
Someone needs to write a story with Danny being Bruce's son.
Everyone is like do we tell him( Damien)
They think will go all murdery on Danny.
Only he knows about his older brother or half brother. ( Writers pick)
They hide all the normal weapons and the like then tell him. Tell him Danny doesn't have any ties to the hero world and want to keep it that way.
They don't know about phantom ( the worlds first hero)
Damien does.
A few months later the Ghost King is needed. Only no one knows a safe way to summon him.
Damien goes I got this, some low rate magic user mocks him. And when Danny shows up the mocking dies down.
Danny is all edlrich horror and is like are you picking on my baby brother?
Once that is handled they ask him for help.
This is how Batman finds out his oldest blood son is a hero but also a ghost hero.
Danny turns to Damien and is like you know she could have handled this.
Damien is like yes she could have but you talked to her last week and know it's fashion week or something big in fashion. ( I don't know these things).
Once the trouble is dealt with and Damien asks if he wants to see his room. Not Damien but Danny's room Damien had ready for him and to meet Afried.
Danny is like sure, over dinner someone asks who they where talking about. The person that could have handled what Danny was summoned for.
They both go oh our sister. She is a hero in Paris has a team and everything.
Robin, showing up to a crime scene with Red Robin and Red Hood to find Ladybug force feeding an apprehended Riddler danishes:
Robin: . . .
Robin: Ladybug, you cannot solve every problem with pastries.
Ladybug, shoving a scone into Riddler's already over stuffed mouth: *gives Robin a flat look*
Ladybug: Watch me.
Red Robin: Honestly, I've yet to see it not work for her.
Red Hood: She bribed a whole gang last week with croissants.
Ladybug: It's called diplomacy.
Robin: It's called bribery.
Ladybug, considering Robin: *holds out a macaron*
Robin: *stares at it a moment before taking it*
Robin: ... I won't tell Batman.
Red Robin, munching on a muffin: This is how Gotham falls.
Red Hood, nodding with a cookie: Pastry bribes.
___
I picture Riddler quietly choking in the background as Ladybug smothers him with more and more pastries. She's not bribing so much as threatening death by overconsumption.
Batkids: spend to much time on their devices
Bruce: sees this and takes their devices
Bruce: you need to do something other than be on technology all day.
Bruce: Your screen time is being limited and you will be spending the day together.
Marinette: spends a day with the batkids
Bruce: what have you learned from this?
Marinette: that human interaction should be limited
Meanwhile batkids: covered in confetti and whipped cream
Dick: it was Jason's idea
Jason: it wasn't mine it was Stephanie's
Stephanie: it was mine and it worked great
Tim: wait you knew it wouldn't work and still did it, why?
Damian: Brown, run
Bruce: questioning his parenting decisions
Damian: father who's the superior twin
Marinette: that's simple
Damian: so you agree it's I
Marinette: I am cute, you are newt.
Dick: that rhymed
Damian: baffled you just compared me to an amphibian
Tim: hahah team bean for the win
Jason: I vote team pix
Bruce: attempting to hide his laugh
Damian: that was not funny
Jason: your just mad you didn't think of it
Tim: that and bean called you a newt
Damian: Being stuck with you is absolute torture.
Marinette: You love torture.
Damian: I'm aware.
Damian and Marinette arguing in the Manor:
---
Marinette: You keep staring at me like you’re analysing a crime scene.
Damian: I’m trying to determine how someone so small manages to cause this much chaos.
Marinette, smirking: It’s called 'talent.'
Damian: It’s called 'poor decision-making.'
Marinette, offended: Excuse me! I make great decisions! I'm dating you, aren't I?
Tim, passing by: That just proves his point.
Tim: *dodges dagger*
Red hood grinning at the young justice league about to meet Ladybug : They're one of those couples that are a package deal, but in an evil way. Like you're not getting one without the other and that's a threat.
It was simply just another evening of babysitting his beloved baby sister as Bruce was away on an off world mission, surprisingly Dick had been left in charge as Alfred was away visiting family in London.
Dick had been tasked to watch little Marinette by Bruce as had to go on an off world mission and would be back late. Though called in Jason, for the additional supervision.
The other two boys were sadly preoccupied with matters at Mount Justice, and Titans Tower.
“So cupcake, what movie shall we watch?” he asked the child as he lead her to the main living room, opening a cabinet door to show his extensive Disney movie collection.
“Can we watch Lion King? I like lions.” the blunette spoke eyes sparkling with excitement as she looked up at her older brother.
“Of course we can,” he said, getting the disk out of the box and slipping it into the DVD player.
“So we have good news and bad news.” Jason spoke.
The large room, had been redecorated in the hour Bruce had been gone, with couches pushed to the back of the room, new artwork hung from the walls.
With a large pillow fort placed in the centre containing many stolen pillows and sheets from the large number of guest rooms. With all of Marinette's plush toys acting as guards.
A brief popping could be heard in the distance startling the small child.
“Jay what was that?” asked Marinette
“Oh that's just the microwave tossed in a bag of popcorn, I have to make at least 3” he said.
“Why do we need three isn't one enough?” Marinette asked
“We need three so we can all have one each, plus Dickibird will eat all the popcorn if we only have one” he said and she giggled.
“Wha-hey! So what's the good news?” Dick asked, finally finding the remote amongst the pillows.
“Popcorn and a lot of takeout is on the way” Jason said as if it was normal.
“Bad news” he said looking at his younger brother
“I have no idea where anything in that kitchen is except the first aid kit” he said moving towards the kitchen at the sound of a familiar beep.
Marinette followed after him as he took out the large bag and tossed in another packet.
“I know where Alfred keeps the snacks, should we get some?” she asked startling Jason who nearly dropped the bag.
"You're getting good at sneaking up on people", he spoke grinning, a plan already forming.
“Definitely grab some snacks” he said as Marinette walked into Wayne manors overly large pantry.
Dick rushed into the room, eyes scanning the room a look of panic and fead.
“I left to grab the take out from the door but when I came back Marinette was gone. Have you seen her?” he asked still searching the room. Jason was about to answer but was interrupted by a voice.
“Who are you looking for?” Marinette asked, her arms full of snacks which she was about to drop.
Dick smiled "no one" he spoke grabbed all the snacks from her little hands and grabbed a bowl from the cupboard, above Jason’s head and tossed the snacks into the bowl.
“Wait, you know where things in this kitchen are?” Jason asked surprised.
“Just the basics like bowls, cutlery and the first aid kit, Alfred showed me before he left because Bruce was at work and Alfred hadn't had a chance to tell him before he left for London '' he explained.
“When will dad and grandpa Alfred be back?” asked a little girl who had climbed up onto the kitchen counter.
“B will be back soon, he's just away on bat business” Dick said.
The child nodded, growing impatient “can we watch Lion King now?”
“Yep, let's go!'' he said , grabbing the bowl of snacks.
As Jason grabbed Marinette giving her a piggyback ride to the living room. She squealed as the two rushed forward landing on a pile of pillows.
It had been quiet with the occasional words and the sounds of crying coming when Mufsa had died.
Once the movie had ended, Marinette turned towards her older brothers and stared at them with a confused face.
“Something wrong, pixie?” Jason asked his little sister
“Wouldn’t Simba have just married his cousin seeing as they live in groups and they all would be family” she stated.
Dick’s eyes widened at her words,
"Where did you learn this?” his younger brother interrupted before Dick could start crying over something.
“Dami taught me all about animals, Lions were my favourite '' she stated, reaching for the half eaten bar of chocolate.
“You do realise Dickibird might never see the movie the same way ever again now right?” Jason asked the child.
“But Jay Jay all I did was tell him the truth,” Marinette said, nibbling on her chocolate bar.
“What happened here?” asked a new voice they all turned to see Tim leaning against the door frame holding a cup of coffee.
“We’re babysitting” Dick said forgetting about the movie
“Ok, so what's with the sheets and pillows?” he asked, gesturing well everywhere.
“We made a pillow fort. Do you like it?” Marinette said
“Yeah it’s…. Awesome” he said, not sure what to say.
“Can you watch movies with us?” she asked hopefully.
“Um you see… I have”he stopped trying to tell her he had to do paperwork for W.E when he saw her puppy dog eyes
“fine” he sighed plopping down on a large pillow. Who really wanted to do paperwork anyway.
Half way through the Little Mermaid they heard footsteps. They all looked at each other. Jason grabbed the remote and got ready to attack the person as they opened the door.
Dick pulled his younger siblings back in case.
The door opened and Jason swung the remote, luckily Damian saw and ducked just in time,
“what are you doing Todd?” he asked.
“Honestly demonspawn, we thought you might be a burglar, '' he answered.
“Dami, are you going to join our movie night?” Marinette asked.
“Do I have to?” he asked, eyeing the room, seeing sheets, pillows and food scattered all across the room.
“Please” she asked, pulling out the baby doll eyes.
Damian said he could never say no to her, she was his favourite though he never admit it out loud.
Not to mention she already knew about their night jobs and how dangerous Gotham was. Yet she was still a little ball of sunshine.
“If I must,” he said, taking a seat next to her.
Some time through Hercules the seventh Disney movie they had started to fall asleep, first Marinette, then Damian, followed by Tim who had run out of coffee. The two eldest brothers were quick to follow.
Later that night Bruce expected to come home to the boys usual fighting and hopefully an asleep Marinette if he was lucky or possibly one that had been baking with some sort of supervision, even Tim was better than none.
But instead he found all five of his children asleep on his living room if he could still call it that where Mulan was playing across the screen. He snapped a picture and sent it to Alfred before turning off the tv and placing blankets on each of them.
A smile making it way onto his face as he thought about getting the picture framed, for his office.
