The polar opposite of corporate accounts trying to come across as hip and super friendly are the ones for libraries, aquariums, parks systems and the like, that are basically just trying to get people excited about learning and the wonder of history/science by posting things like this:
You know how much I would lose my mind if I was at an aquarium and turned a corner to see a wild ass heron staring at a fish tank
miffy with a pearl earring i adore you
“tattoos are going out of style” they’ve been around for a thousand years im sorry you’re conservative now get well soon ig

I feel like zombie settings could do more to make slow zombies scarier in quiet, creeping ways. Zombies facing away from people. Walking backwards. Only moving if they're not seen. Holding a survivor but not hurting them. Motionless but their eyes follow you. Soundless horde.
Encountering fast zombies: Physical challenge
Encountering slow zombies: Psychological terror

i am proud of that fire hydrant
Here’s an interesting fact
Every year on the anniversary of the Great 1906 Earthquake, the heroic fire hydrant at 20th and Church Streets that saved the Mission District is honored with a ceremonial wreath-laying and a fresh coat of gold paint. In 2012 however, on the 106th anniversary of the city-leveling quake, the little hydrant got painted silver by accident, apparently due to a Rust-Oleum mix-up at a local Lowe’s Hardware Store.
According to the San Francisco History Association, the group’s president and founder Ron Ross thought he had purchased three cans of gold spray paint to freshen the hydrant’s topcoat during the early morning celebration. It wasn’t until sunrise that Ross and others noticed the mistake in the early morning light. Or as one member of the History Association put it, “3 cans of spray paint with GOLD caps. 0 with gold paint. painting SF icon FAIL.” [x]
It was quickly repainted gold again.

In Copenhagen you can visit The Round Tower. It used to be an astronomical observatory until light pollution and the vibrations from increased traffic in the streets made it useless for its original purpose.
Today it’s mostly famous for what it looks like on the inside.
It has an equestrian staircase though it’s so smooth it’s really just a gentle slope more than a staircase. It was build like that so our lazy bum king could ride his horse all the way to the top (king not in photo)
And naturally people have also driven cars up the tower
And held a bike race
For a while it was just sort of abandoned by the authorities and became a spiraling marketplace
But today it has been restored and become a tourist spot as well as a popular destination for school trips. And yes, you can still watch the cosmos at the top.
This post keeps making me cry laughingg
