what about a lily x fem! reader where (its the beginning of their relationship) and R doesn't know anything about Lily's reanimation or whatnot until she sees the scar on her chest and the questions start coming up
lily frankenstein x fem!reader
it had only been a matter of weeks since lily had rescued you from your forced marriage. sheâd blended into the crowd, sitting soundly in the endless rows of seats before unexpectedly whipping out a gun and shooting your cruel, sickeningly older fiancĂ© dead.
others had scattered like mice, flooding out of the grand doors with a plethora of squeals and squawks, leaving just you and lily alone. sheâd approached you calmly, boots treading through the pool of blood around your dead fiancĂ©.
you could merely stand, shivering with shock, as she brought delicate fingers to your chinâ tilting it ever so slight to meet her dark, piercing gaze.
she spoke with a sibilant hiss that made you want to hopelessly melt.

mine was an understatement.
lily currently has you bundled up in her arms, curled up against each other in her enormous bed. sheets and throws smother you, creasing like an ocean which radiated a comforting warmth that made you want to drift to sleep almost instantly.
lily recognised your apparent lethargy, the way your tired eyes drooped, your head tilted downwardsâ the task of keeping it upright too tedious for your slowly slipping mind. lily studies how your breaths gradually slow, the rise and fall of your chest begins to diminish until eventuallyâ youâve flopped entirely against her.
your head falls neatly beneath lilyâs chin and her stern gaze follows, watching your features soften sleepily. she feels your breaths blowing over her skin, almost ticklish, but lily darenât crack a smile.
still, that didnât mean she wasnât content.
her undead heart fuzzed strangely at the sight of you so vulnerable and trusting against her, almost like her little lapdog.
lilyâs suddenly snapped out of her fleeting thoughts when she feels an unfamiliar sensation on her chest. she blinks down at you, watching as you lightly grace your fingertips along the crimson curves of her scars. your fingers delicately dip along and around and lily has to physically bite her tongue as to not let an embarrassing sound escape.
ây/nâŠâ she breathes, slightly shaky, though she tries her best to hide it.
you glance up intently, all attention snapping to lily in an instant.
ây/n⊠thatâŠâ she pauses, sucking in a sharp breath, âthat is one of my scars.â
thereâs a beat of silence where you mentally debate whether or not to pry, but ultimately, your burning curiosity gets the best of you.
âhow did you get it?â you mumble innocently, still studying the precision of the cut. you quickly understood that this scar couldnât have been the blind slashing of a dagger. this was well-thought with an obvious medical precision.
lily sighs, despite having anticipated the question, she was still somewhat hesitant to answer. âa man.â she simply states before continuing, âa man branded me with this scar, y/n. a very cruel, very twisted man.â she stares holes into the scar, the memories rather rudely returning to her mind unannounced. âthere are things i need to tell you, y/n. things which you may struggle to believe.â
you gaze up at her with that same soft earnestness that makes lilyâs legs want to crumple. âiâll believe you, lily.â
she sighs wistfully, head tilting up to gaze at the ceiling and the floral patterns which adorn it. her blonde locks flop over the pillows, she looks like a devil sporting a stolen halo. âiâm⊠undead, y/n. i died and came back.â she shrugs limply, âlike jesus, if you will.â
lilyâs heart gives another agonising twist at the way your eyes suddenly shine with a blinding adoration. she knew you were religious, no wonder you were so willing to believe the seemingly outrageous story of her resurrection. you were now looking at her as if she was a goddess. the secret fourth part of the holy trinity. lily didnât know whether to revolt or to revel.
she continues, âbefore i was lily, i was brona. another woman, yet still the same. i remember inklings of my past life⊠i was irish.â lily hums thoughtfully, âthe sound of that accent still lingers in my mind⊠but brona died. murderedâ by a man, of course.â she pauses, using light, flicking gestures of her hand, âand somehow with the⊠power of science, that man brought me back as lily.â she pauses sadly, âhe gave me these scars during the process of reanimating my still heart.â
âtheyâre arches.â you suddenly breathe, studying the way her scars rise and fall. âlike a rainbowâ the colour after the storm.â
lily blinks with surprise, you always said the sweetest of things. you were so much unlike herself, maybe thatâs why she found herself so infatuated. âfunny enough, it was the storm that played a part in my revivalâŠâ
a small smile cracks across your lips.
lily canât help but copy, her lips faintly flickering with an adoring grin.
âperhaps you are my rainbow after the storm, sweet y/n.â
