Molly held out the pocket watch insistently, eyes sad but determined. “It’s who you are, Sherlock,” she murmured. “It’s who we are. You can’t fight it.”
Sherlock glanced at the watch - something that until a few minutes ago he thought was merely an insignificant trinket someone had left on the mantel at 221b. Now that Molly was offering it to him, though, he found his eyes tracing over and over the intricate carvings he’d never really noticed, his brain trying to find meaning where there shouldn’t be any. The longer he looked at it, the more Sherlock felt compelled to open the watch and unravel whatever mysteries were surely hidden inside, and for some reason that urge sent a thrill of fear through his gut.
“Sherlock,” Molly warned, drawing the detective’s attention, “Sherlock, you won’t be able to go back.” She glanced at John. “And I’m sorry, but you have to leave this life behind.”
Sherlock looked up sharply. What did she mean, ‘leave this life behind?’ Would he have to leave John behind? Leave behind the soft smiles and the crime scene giggles, the takeaway and the fridge full of body parts, the awe and the warmth John poured out with each breath, everything that Sherlock found himself living for? How could anything be worth more than what he had found in John, be worth more than the only friend he had ever had? Sherlock would do anything for John, and he knew the reverse was true; how could he ever walk away from that?
“John…” he breathed, voice cracking slightly in distress.
Molly shook her head. “I’m so sorry, Sherlock, but there isn’t another way. You have to leave John behind as well.” She pressed the pocket watch into his hands. “Believe me, this is more important.”
Turning the watch over in his hands, eyes tracing the carvings that couldn’t possibly have meaning, Sherlock found himself wondering how there could be anything in the universe more important than John Watson.
“Please, Sherlock. It will be easier this way…”

I never seem to be able to read short stories. I always feel unfulfilled if the fic I'm reading isn't a monster of story that contains 100,000 words or more.
I just couldn't have been a simple reader could I.
With no actual progress, sorry guys working at a slow and steady pace.
Why is it whenever I make an outline of something it always turns out to be some joke. Its like I can't even take myself seriously anymore.
The doodles don't help. I have a pirate Arthur Pendragon with a peg leg, an eye patch and a hook.

chapter 5 beginning
Desmond had absolutely no idea how long he had been traveling. The sun was up and rising high into the sky so it must have been a few hours since Desmond had fled the Templar camp, however a another problem struck Desmond He had no idea where he was going, making this a much worse situation than he was previously in. Given that dehydration was a huge threat especially since today of all days seemed to be the hottest day Desmond had gone through so far.
The horse wasn’t faring so well either, considering it probably didn’t get a decent enough rest and hasn’t had water in the past few hours. Desmond would doubt he would get any farther without any water in the next half hour.
Desmond looked up and was surprised to see a blurry faraway image of a tower. It looked to be a few miles away so about twenty minute travels, that is if the horse didn’t collapse from heat exhaustion. He squinted; the structure of the tower looked vaguely familiar. Weather that was a good thing Desmond wasn’t sure but at this point he didn’t have a choice. There couldn’t be that many people that knew his face and by his face he meant Altiar. Someone in that tower should have water or some sort of water source Desmond could get a drink, including the horse.
He guided the horse in the direction of where the tower was. Desmond really hoped that this wasn’t just an image created by his dehydration. He clicked his heels and made the horse go faster.
The horse protested with a slight whiny but it seemed too tired to really care as it galloped its way toward the tower. It took less time than Desmond anticipated on getting a proper view of the tower.
With a proper view he was able to discern more figures that were surrounding the tower. He squinted, the sun giving Desmond some difficulty.
It didn’t take long for Desmond to realize that these individuals were Assassins going by their white hoods they had to be. Desmond didn’t know what to do.
On the one hand he could go in
