Magnus suggested sharing the Blitz title with Nepo, and FIDE agreed?? Like literally everyone is confused, and Hikaru disagreed with this decision during commentary. Not only him, but everyone else is going insane on X.

I love Magnus, but I agree this is insane. Should we start sharing the title left and right?

Had a feeling Magnus will still play Blitz tournament, but of course, not without a post first.

Magnus Carlsen - widely regarded as one of the best chess players of all time - was just kicked out of the World Rapid and Blitz Championships for the crime of... wearing jeans.

FIDE - the authorities in charge of the game - literally kicked the best in the world out of a tournament for wearing jeans. Just when you think you've heard everything...

Just to clarify some things, Magnus didn't actually get kicked out. FIDE was actually giving him a fine, wanted to make him change, and sit out a round Magnus's response to that was leaving Rapid&Blitz Championship all together. The same thing happened to Nepo, but he changed and didn't have to sit out a round.

They disqualified him for wearing jeans??? WTF FIDE? This is some lame excuse to kick him out.😭

Also, Magnus was done with FIDE, so he left the tournament completely. Good for him. 👍

Watching Magnus and Hikaru being so awkward today, like they were standing next to each other looking like they had an argument, then Magnus forgot which way he supposed to go and went with Americas Gambit, which confused Hikaru and then he laughed before they both went their right way. They started to repeat the moves, and Magnus smiled before offering a draw. I'm happy to see them smile, discuss, and analyze their game.

I missed watching one Titled Tuesday, and apparently, Magnus beats Hans(not surprising), Hikaru beats Magnus, and after that, he also beats Hans??? I missed once, and this happens?
