i've never been this emotionally wrecked by a tv show in all my life. bobby nash was my comfort character. bathena were my comfort ship. with both of them being taken away, it has well and truly destroyed me.
athena was a character who, at the beginning, was very closed off. very to herself. and bobby helped her open up. helped her to soften and to find peace in the world and in herself again. and all i can think of is how now, without bobby, she will just go back to that person. cut away from everyone and everything. the 118 who had become as much of a family to her as they did to bobby. her children who loved bobby as much as their own father, knowing that she won't be able to look at them without thinking of him and how much he loved her kids. athena is just as gone as bobby and that breaks my heart.
this was the worst decision any writer/director could have done for a show and it will be one that i will never forgive, no matter the outcome. the last four days have been hell on earth and i truly am heartbroken at what has happened because of it.
to ignore the wishes of the cast? to brush aside one of the most generous and talented actors of this generation for 'creative direction' is absolutely insane. none of them wanted peter to leave and peter himself would rather have stayed which only makes this even harder to accept.
you wanted to get rid of a character? fine! bobby would've loved to retire. he would've loved to stay at home all day, baking, cooking, gardening, picking up new hobbies. he would've loved to go fishing or volunteering at various different shelters, helping people considering that's what he does best.
but most of all, bobby nash deserved to live. he deserved to have the peace he has fought eight seasons to have and for that, i will never forgive the way it has panned out.
and to peter, please know you are and will always be so loved by the 9-1-1 fandom and we'll miss you so very much.
