Dumb laws that need to be repealed

I was recently surfing the Internet and remembered an entertaining Web site I found a few years back - www.dumblaws.com.

“In Montana, state law reads that “seven or more Indians are considered a raiding or war party and it is legal to shoot them.” As far as I know, this law is still valid. I saw no (Repealed) beside it. Just think about it, if you and six other Native friends walked into a café to grab some grub, you could be legally shot according to that law. Frightening….

In the great, compassionate, understanding state of South Dakota, state law reads, “If there are more than five Native Americans on your property you may shoot them.” I would advise against traveling in groups of six or more if you’re Native and in South Dakota. “Excuse me sir, my five friends and I were headed to the powwow when our van broke down in front of your home. Hey, what’s with the gun?”

It gets even worse in Spearfish, S.D., because city law states, “If three or more Indians are walking down the street together, they can be considered a war party and fired upon.”

And before you say, “Oh those laws got left in by ACCIDENT” NO they did NOT. I’ll wager you all the buckskin in my craft room that Racist White Men made sure these laws stayed on the books “just in case we feel like we needta defend our wimmin.”

May I remind you we now have Nazis and f*ckboys infesting our nation like cockroaches with massive amounts of legal armaments and they WILL kill us and have their lawyers cite this and they WILL get away with it.

hey so it’s pride month and i’m starting to see a lot of cute graphics and posts about it – and they’re wonderful, don’t get me wrong – but i just want to remind everyone:

wlw and lesbian are not exchangeable terms. lesbians are wlw, of course (although not all lesbians really identify w the term), but if you make a post saying “support bisexuals, pansexuals, and wlw!” it…. doesnt make sense, by definition, and it also makes it seem like you’re avoiding the word “lesbian”.

the lesbian label is incredibly significant to many of us, and has historically represented many women in our community. i want people to say the word “lesbian”. i want them to acknowledge me and women like me with the term we have used for decades. it’s very important to me.

support lesbians. support our terminology and our history. support the label we have chosen to identify with. we’re the L in the LGBT – lesbian is not a bad word, it is not inherently not radical or not queer or not inclusive.

i don’t just want to let non-lesbians know that it’s okay to include lesbians specifically in their positivity posts & graphics – i want them to know that many of us prefer it that way.

Reblog if you’re still seeing porn bots despite the NSFW ban. I’m still seeing them. Plenty of legitimate followers seem to be blocked from my feed, however.
