From the time I was born I’d fought for a decent relationship with you. I wanted you to want to spend time with me. To want to care about me. I fought and fought for you to love me. Now that I’m older, and you’ve put me in this place, this state of mind, over and over and over again. I think I’m finally done. I don’t have the fight any more. I’ll never understand how you can so quickly turn away from your own flesh and blood. If I ever get to be a parent myself it will be the greatest privilege. But I don’t believe you ever saw it that way. I worry you thought it to be the opposite. The past few months have been tough. I can’t remember the last time I saw your face.
