hpcc broadway year 6 cast notes:
SUCCESSFUL HPCC TRIP EVERYONE!! i got to see erik as scorpius and cover who i believe came back to the cast after 2 years off (?), dan piering as albus!!
BRUH walking into the foyer with ‘staircase ballet’ playing in the background is PEAK
anyways, here are my scorbus notes, enjoy xx
- dan imitating eriks movements for ‘dark lord’
- dan looking genuinely so lost and confused when slytherin was said
- dan holding eriks arm when he was talking about astoria’s passing
- OMG DAN HUGGING ERIK FOR THE FIRST TIME WAS PERFECTION. one arm over his shoulder, the other around his waist
- them doing this cute little lift when dan lifts erik off the train so he gets up on the roof first
- the polyjuice scenes went CRAZY!! all this touchyness and hand holding MY LORD
- erik looking insanely jealous and envious when delphi went over to dan to kiss him
staircase ballet: dan tries to reach out to erik but then pulls back and runs down the stairs
at the end, dan sits up the top looking down at erik slowly walking down the stairs trying to get to him
- OMG THE LIBRARY SCENE WAS AMAZING dan had so much passion and got right in erik’s face when saying ‘without you holding me back’ then erik absolutely GOING OFF
- before running off the stage in library scene, dan holds out his arm for erik to grab so they can run off together
- ‘MY ALBUS’ SORRY WHAT??? IS THAT A LINE CHANGE IN SCENE WITH SNAPE??? THESE SCRIPT CHANGES ARE GOING CRAZY BECAUSE I SERIOUSLY CANNOT KEEP UP
- erik’s ‘im fighting for albus’ is truly his moment of realisation he is in love with his best friend
- erik slowly moving closer to dan in owlery and again dan imitating erik’s actions
- the sudden silent after erik’s ‘because of you’ then puts his head down in shame because dan didn’t say anything
- then dan smiled and turned to the audience and said ‘good’ with the cheesiest smile LIKE BRO IS FALLING HARD
- erik reaching out to hold dan’s hand when delphi was them in cuffs before going back in time but then dan looking to him about to reach other but decided against it YEARNING FINAL BOSS OVER HERE
- while they were in godricks hollow talking about whatever they say, erik is holding dan’s arm pretty much the whole time then grabs his hand to bring him over to the door
- dan imitating erik once again (common activities with these two)
- dan was siting on the stairs with erik standing on the one below him then erik pokes his chest
- ‘and that’s who you want in your palace?’ dan stands up placing his hand on erik’s shoulder and their faces only a couple of centimetres away
- dan’s hand slides down erik’s chest while he delivers his line and they just stare at each other until rose comes in
- they quickly seperate so erik is leaning on the rail but still staring at each other
HUG: erik has one arm over his shoulder and one on waist with dan also hugging him BUT once he says his line, he drops his head into his shoulder and squeezes him even more IM SOBBING
then the double chest pokes before erik leaves
- witnessing the death of lily/james, mat(harry) is on the ground in tears and dan is also on the ground next to him, instead of comforting him, he almost hugs himself and you can see him finally understand why harry is the way he is and almost crying because he is imagining lily/james being his own parents… or something like that maybe i’m reading into it too much
- the mat and dan hug was absolutely superb it was so emotional, dan went over to hug mat first and it was like a full embrace
ultimately, love the actors, hate this version… i could perhaps rant if people wanted that 💪
(i went with my friend who’d never seen it and she was like ‘im sensing some romantic tension between them… do they kiss?’ ugh if we could only get our way)
