@bawllsdeep-blog
Greetings Earth,
As some of you may know, my specialization for my English degree is Film. I know what you’re thinkin’, and you’re right, it’s because I’m ADDICTED TO FILM. It is a curse, but like any sensible man (or woman) I turned that curse into a gift. Ever since I was I child I felt I has the ability — as most of us are born with but lose as we get older — to decipher an art-form, any art-form, into a message. Something as “simple” as the portrait of a plain woman (e.g. Mona Lisa) can immortalize a man because of the meaning behind the syntax, if you will.
Anyways, what I meant to say is I am a cinephile — I’ve seen a lot of movies.
Star Trek: Into Darkness is one of the best movies I have EVER SEEN.
My relationship with J.J. Abrams started when he fucked me. Excuse me, I meant fucked my brains out… no not like that you perv. He created the show LOST and it was a complete mind-fuck up until the last episode of the sixth season. There is no seventh season. Although his first attempt at the big screen was not as thrilling as expected, it was because I set the bar pretty high for a man of that intellect. I did give him another chance with the Star Trek reboot… he did it, mind-fucked me again, not by story, but my the visuals. Oh yeah, and Super 8 was really fun, despite boycotting it while it was is in theaters because I thought it was going to be childish — someone should have made a better trailer or something, I don’t remember exactly why I did that..:/
After watching this movie I am so so so so so so so so soooo glad he is in charge of the next three Star Wars movies. I was a little hesitant since I didn’t feel like I wanted star wars to be just 2 hours of explosions in space, but Into Darkness really showed us J.J. Abrams’s range. It very much reminded me of a Spielberg movie — I’m talking a real Spielberg Movie like Indiana Jones or A.I. or even SPR (if you don’t know what this acronym is for then FUCK YOU STR8 UP DA @$$) — and I’ll tell you the main reason why:
There are two types of people in this world… James Tiberius Kirk, and Spock.
Besides the special effects, obviously, this movie is about ethics, and human nature: what is man to do when he has to chose between pride and family? How would Spock answer the question? How would Kirk?
Abrams, in my opinion, developed his characters even better (at least more) this time around than last time when he actually introduced them to us. An amazing ensemble cast is over shadowed by brilliant performances of the main three characters: Chris Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), and Benedict Cumberbatch (surprise!). They play off of each other so well that it’s the only thing you care about at the height of the film’s action.
How Abrams transformed this story of the essence of man into an emotionally polarizing roller-coaster ride with Special Effects that just (BERKHHH… my brain just exploded trying to recollect what I just experienced).
Go watch it…. Eazy says 9/10
Live Long and Prosper,
Just Saying..;p
