Feature Highlights
Responsive Design
The types of devices and ways that people are viewing your blog are growing exponentially, so having a layout for your blog that adapts from the largest resolution monitors down to mobile views is important. Go ahead and try it out, go to the demo site and resize your browser window down to get an idea of how the layout changes.
Adjustable Header
Give your blog additional personality by uploading a large background image and logo to the theme header. We give you the option to adjust how tall the header appears: 80%, 60%, 40%, or 20% of the browser height.
Social Features
The theme has built in support for group blogs, sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google +, comments by Disqus, and sites you follow. In the Theme Options options you’ll also find a variety of the most popular social profile icon links.
Disqus Comments
With Baxter you have the option of including Disqus to help you build a community of active readers and commenters on your blog. Disqus allows your readers to give you instant feedback and start meaningful discussions about your posts. Setting up Disqus is as easy as registering a new account for your site and pasting in your Site Shortname.
Extended Styling Options
Baxter gives you color options to control the look of virtualy every element in the theme. Show off your inner genius and create a unique look and feel to your blog that's unlike any other!
Customization Options
Images
Header Logo - Upload an image to replace the blog title in the header profile. For the best look, upload a transparent PNG logo that matches or complements the theme’s text color.
Header Background - The background image you upload will fill the entire browser window behind your title, description and social icons. A great resource for background images is thestocks.im.
Site Background - Set background image that shows up behind the center post and sidebar column.
Colors
Header Background - Changes the color of the background in the full-browser header. If you have a Header Image uploaded you need to clear it out to see the background color.
Header Text - Changes the color of the title, description and small text in the header.
Header Accent - Changes the color for links in the header.
Header Accent Hover - Changes the color while hovering over links in the header.
Site Background - Changes the overall background color behind the grid.
Post Background - Changes the background color of the post box both in the grid and post viewer.
Post Text - Changes the text color for the posts.
Post Title - Changes the text color for the post titles.
Post Accent - Changes the color of primary links throughout the theme.
Post Accent Hover - Changes the color while you hover over the links, additionally it is used for the pagination and loading bar at the bottom of the blog.
Fonts
Use Recommended Fonts - By default we are loading in the fonts that we think look best with Baxter. If you want to select your own, make sure you turn this option off.
Body Font, Title Font, UI Font - Choose from the list of fonts that Tumblr supports on their blogs.
Webfont Embed - If you want to use a Google Font, Typekit or another custom font service you can add in your provided embed code into this option.
Webfont Title Family - Set the CSS font family for the title
Webfont Body Family - Set the CSS font family for the body
Webfont UI Family - Set the CSS font family for the UI font elements
Dropdown Options
Header Height - Easily set the percentage height of your blog header depening on the overall height of the browser window is.
Post Title Width - Adjust how bold or light the titles throughout the theme appear
Tumblr Like and Reblog Color - Switch between Tumblr's black, grey and white like and reblog buttons for what works best with your blog styling.
Show Liked Posts - If you are sharing your liked posts in your Tumblr settings you can choose to display 1 to 5 liked posts in the sidebar.
Options
Fill Header Background - Turn this option off if you want to tile the header background image.
Fill Site Background - Turn this option off if you want to tile the site background image.
Header Text Shadown - Give you the option to turn on text shadows for the text in the header to help it stand out from the background image.
Extra Wide Posts - By default the post width is an impressive 820px wide, but if that is too wide for you turn off this option to set the width to 620px.
Infinite Scrolling - Allows your theme to automatically load page after page of posts as you scroll.
Show Twitter Follow Button - If you have Twitter set up in your Tumblr settings this option will automatically load in the follow button.
Show Tags Above Posts - Having this option checked will display your tags above each post.
Show Group Blog Details - If your blog is a secondary Tumblr blog and you have multiple authors you can turn this option on to show the name and profile icon of each author.
Show Portrait in Description - Turn this option on to display your profile icon in the blog description.
Show Camera Details - Display the your camera settings and details below each of your Photo posts
Show Share Buttons on Homepage - Turn this option on if you want to display the social share button on the homepage below each post.
Show Search - By default the sidebar will include a search bar, but you can hide it by turning off this option.
Show Theme Credits - We would love it if you share where you got the theme, but we have no problem if you want to hide it.
Logo Width - By default the maximum width of the logo image in the header is 300px wide, but you can adjust the width for what works best in your case.
Content Options
Sidebar Titles - You have the option to set the titles that appear above your description, social links, Instagram feed, liked posts and copyright information.
Email Newsletter Title - Add a title above your optional email newsletter signup box
Email Newsletter Description - Add an optional descript above your signup form
Email Newsletter Embed - Paste in the subcription form embed provided by your email marketing service. If you are using Mailchimp we highly recommend using their Super Slim option. Let us know if the email service you use needs some additional styling love - [email protected]
Sidebar Widget HTML - We provide you with three options where you can paste in additional HTML to be shown in your sidebar. This option is perfect for widgets, embeds and other custom elements you wish to add.
Additional Options
Instagram Access Token - To set up your Instagram feed for the sidebar follow the instructions at stylehatch.co/instagram
Disqus ID - Add your Disqus Site Shortname to enable comments for your site. Click here to register for a Disqus site account.
Google Analytics ID - Google Analytics tracking is built right into the theme, all you need to do is add your site ID to this option.
Clicky ID - For realtime tracking of who is on your site right now, goals, campaigns and Twitter monitoring add your Clicky ID. Clicky does charge for their analytics and tracking, but I highly recommend it for people who are stats junkies. Sign up for an account with Clicky.
Webfont Embed - If you want to use fonts from Typekit, Google Fonts or other online font hosting services paste in the provided embed code.
Body/Title/UI Font Family - Add the list of font families for the overall body, title and UI fonts.
Social Links
Add your URLs to display the corresponding social site's icon as a link. Note: Make sure you add the full URL, including “http://”.
