Moonlight (2016)
Mahershala Ali deserves so much better than the Golden Globes snub he got for Moonlight earlier tonight
Of the 14 actors who will win Golden Globes tonight, the one I thought most likely to walk away with a statue was Mahershala Ali. But with the very first award of the evening came the first snub — and it was a big one.
I love how Denzel Washington won Best Actor (Drama), Mahershala Ali won Best Supporting Actor, Barry Jenkins won Best Director and Best Screenplay, Rami Malek won yet another award, Riz Ahmed won Best Performance in a Miniseries or Television Film and Thandie Newton won Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film, but by far the best part of the night was when Casey Affleck and Mel Gibson tried to get in, but security quickly dragged them out and threw them both in the garbage where they belong.
Terrific Golden Globes ceremony this year.
