I need a twilight where Rosalie resents all the men in her life for the entitlement that they feel towards her and her body. Royce, for what he did to her; Carlisle, for changing her and thinking that she would just be Edwards mate; Edward, for having complete access to her thoughts; Jasper, for being able to manipulate her emotions. Where she can express this frustration for her situation without having one man or another manipulate her into complacency again.
The only man she doesnât resent is Emmett. He finds her beautiful and he tells her as much, but he has no expectations of her or of a relationship. Sheâs comfortable around him and because heâs the only man sheâs comfortable around and he finds her beautiful, she thinks sheâs meant to fall in love with him. So she does. She thinks she does anyway. It never feels quite right for her, but she pushes any doubts or worries aside because Emmett is the best man sheâs ever known. She doesnât think thereâs anything better out there for her. There canât be another man than Emmett because Emmett is patient and kind and understanding and he loves her so she has to love him back. She owes it to him.
It takes decades and several fights with Edward that begin with âYou know you donât owe anyone anything, right? Not even Emmettâ before she finally sits down with Emmett and tells him everything sheâs been feeling for years. And heâs understanding as ever and tells her that heâll always love her and that if she needs a friend more than a husband he can be that for her. And she feels horrible but so intensely relieved to no longer have to pretend with him.
I need a twilight where Edward realizes that heâs gay. And maybe itâs too late and he and Bella are 2 years married but Bella doesnât hold anything against him because she loves her life and her daughter and she never would have changed a thing.
Despite this she still needs some time to herself so she leaves to process and understand what in her life is going to change. An hour after sheâs left she hears something tracking her. She jumps on the defense but itâs just Rose. Rose wanted to make sure she wasnât running away and to tell Bella everything about her past with Emmett in the hopes that Bella will be understanding of Edwardâs situation.
Bella and Rose end up on a sort of vacation together lamenting and cursing men until Bella kisses Rose. Itâs tentative, soft, sweet, careful, and completely different from any kiss the either of them has ever had. It takes the both of them by surprise but itâs Rose who bolts. Bella feels like an idiot and an asshole. But when Rose comes back just before dawn she kisses Bella like her life depends on it. The second kiss is fierce, hard, breathless, and full of desperate need.
Next thing they know theyâre naked in bed and basking the the post sex afterglow until real life creeps in and they both wonder what this means now. What the consequences of their actions will be. Alice calls and they both want to ignore it. It goes to voicemail but she calls again. Bella picks it up and all Alice has to say is âtheyâll understand. It wonât take them long. Have faith in them.â
