Thankful
Just a personal blog today to say how happy I feel about my son. He's 26 and on the autism spectrum. Throughout his life he was homeschooled, by me, until he was in high school. This was necessary as he just could not concentrate in a busy classroom with other kids. This allowed me to research and find therapies that helped him to rewire his brain and greatly diminish much of his sensory overload. He functions very well and has a steady job, is going to school for welding, attends his church faithfully and has met a lovely woman. She had left an abusive marriage a few years back and was making a new life with her 3 little girls. He always sought out new people at church to make sure they felt welcome. They bonded and his kindness and care has won her over. He just showed me the ring. I am about to have a 2nd daughter-in-law and 3 little angel granddaughters.
Life gives us challenges and some days are hard. But this is a beautiful victory and I just had to tell you all about it.
Thanks for listening. (sniff)
