When I was thirteen I remember I was standing in line at Aldi with my aunt. In front of us there was a girl in her late teens/early twenties. The girl had no hair. I was looking at her thinking "wow she's so pretty. That look really suits her." My aunt hit me on the arm and hissed "Don't stare. She has cancer. It's rude." This exchange really shaped my view on the generational gap. Now that I'm older I wish I had been brave enough to tell the girl I thought she was pretty.
