The night had settled down with the snacks, so Venus was able to slip away and allow his manager to take over (with much shooing from them) to go and have some fun. Drink a little, they had said, do something stupid, you’re always so uptight. Maybe it was true, but again, as Venus had told many people before– he wasn’t a very social person when it came to party celebrations that included people and alcohol. Again, he much rather be home. He felt too old for the loud music (which hurt his ears) and the laughter and chatter; admittedly, a bit died down due to the fact the night was not at all too young.
He had managed to pull himself away to the side, figuring he might as well drink a little while he was there. Champagne. A carbonated drink that never seemed to get him as drunk as it would for humans. And that was just the rule. Carbonated drinks were suppose to speed up the intoxication process. Never did for Venus, unfortunately. So, he mind turned to his next business act. Searching for a hook-up.
Which, was probably too late. It was already the new year, January 1st, and everyone had tugged their pair of lips near them and claimed someone if someone was planning to hook-up. To no avail. Not pretty little vampires, humans, or hybrids around. This thoughts were interrupted whenever he heard someone speak up. He flinched whenever the person came closer, squinting in a bit of annoyance at the person. But, he processed what he said, giving a small nod. “Alright,” he agreed, “What type of friend do you want me to be? Platonic, sexual, or previously romantic?” he questioned, raising an eyebrow. “But I expect the money, of course, afterwards.”
“Of course,” Jaesuk replied with an easy shrug. He inherited and made enough not to bat an eye at two-hundred dollars sent off - plus, it seemed a better price to pay than his reputation. As for the ‘relationship’, Jaesuk cast a glance at his previous group and couldn’t keep an irritated noise from coming up his throat. “Platonic. They’re already going to ask about you tomorrow. It’s better not to get them too excited and claim anything else.”
Running his hand through his hair, Jaesuk took a deep breath and made an attempt to regain his composure. He wouldn’t want them to know how irritated he had become, nor did he want them to catch on to his lie.
He went to take a step, but stopped himself before he could even make one. Pivoting, facing the other once again. Jaesuk tilted his head a touch and gave the man another look. He was attractive that was for certain. Jaesuk wouldn’t have been opposed to the man being a previous romantic endeavor, but Sanguinare Hemophilia Nox was not a disease Jaesuk cared to interact with in such a context. Perhaps if they ever found a cure.
“What’s your name?” he finally asked, because, how ridiculous would it be if he presented this man as an old friend and couldn’t even give a name in the process?

✘bbparksooyoung:
That was an interesting suggestion. Sooyoung glanced amusedly at the male that had taken the audacity to approached her unannounced, and then proceed on to offer payment as though she was one of those bar girls that she’d hired for the event.
What did he think she was? Someone simple enough to be bought by money? Her long lashes fluttered deeply as her ruby lips parted in a smile upon realising that he was drunk, the stumble of his feet and the swaying giving him away as she tilted her head, as though thoroughly considering his suggestion.
“Sounds fair.” She grinned, the words falling from her ruby lips like an enchanted lilt of something light and airy, flowing like a soothing river as she reached over to catch his swaying body. “Two hundred it is for a temporary friend.” And who knows what more?
His delicate features attracted her attention, the unusual way that he had encountered her intriguing her and holding it, and his suggestion–amused her.
Sooyoung waved off the bodyguards that were slowly approaching menacingly round the corner, her slender hands snaking to firmly grip him around his waist without being too conspicuous, letting his weight lean on her slender body, the click of her booted heels sounding against the pound of the music in the room.
“So where to, my unnamed friend?” Her voice wrapped almost cloyingly around the space between the two of them as she jolted him slightly, the scent of her perfume, full of danger, alluring sweet scent and a dash of the lightest winter drifted lightly between them as she brushed back her hair, flicking her eyes towards the unnamed man leaning slightly on her.
It would be his luck to pull a vampire from the mix. While he had no hatred towards them, he would be a liar to claim they didn’t occasionally make him uncomfortable. The power imbalance always threw him for a loop. And, as much as he would agree vampires were merely infected humans, he couldn’t deny inherent differences in their strength and her strength was all the more obvious by how casually she could hold him up in spite of his more clumsy state. It made him click his tongue, impressed.
“Jaesuk,” he responded before thinking to speak more clearly. “I’m Lee Jaesuk. By what name should I call my temporary ‘lifelong’ friend?” He would need at least that to sell his farce. Although, even with a name, with how she was holding him, he was certain most of his colleagues would think her nothing than a pretty woman he was aiming to spend the evening with. He was certain now her presence would lead to plenty of invasive questions once the night was over and the crew returned to the daily grind. It was be bothersome, but better than spending the rest of his night trying to hold his tongue.
Straightening himself up as best he could, Jaesuk placed a hand against the woman’s lower back and led the way. ( what a miracle it was she hadn’t just slapped him. )
Never a man to throw on a smile for the sake of decorum, Jaesuk greeted the table by clearing his throat and drew most of their eyes. One of the doctors whistled, impressed by the sight of the woman, and two of the residents shifted away, clearly uncomfortable with the presence of a vampire; perhaps they were the sort to have entered the medical field for the sole reason vampires were one-hundred percent barred from the profession.
Cocking at brow at them, Jaesuk tried his best to sound as sober as he could and introduced his guest, polite as he could be. “Sorry to be leaving so soon, but we just so happen to have run into each other and we have a lot to catch up on. It’s been years, hasn’t it?”
✘open starter.
He should have stayed home, it was a thought that had been cycling through Jaesuk’s mind since the moment he arrived. It wasn’t that the street party didn’t have its own charms, but the regret he felt for attending the event with the other doctors and residents made the night downright unbearable.
Jaesuk had been nursing cocktail after cocktail as the older doctors droned on and on over a topic he had no interest over. As most were his superiors, he didn’t feel it would be respectful to be the only one to excuse himself. He’d been eyeing a few of the other doctors, hoping any others seemed to be just as exhausted as he was, but he could see most in attendance were nothing but brown nosers hoping to get a leg up if they could pretend to enjoy themselves long enough.
The more he drank, he more he could feel his resolve peeling at the edges, ready to expose his irritation for what it was in spite of how likely it would be for him to lose his job. He was just about to mouth off before he caught himself and instead slurred a quick excuse to the restroom. As he left the table for a moment of respite, he knew he needed to find an out. In his intoxicated state, he thought of possibly his most ridiculous idea yet.
In the crowd, he found a stranger, one that seemed to be unaccompanied by friends at the moment and made quick work to approach them before he lost sight. He had to squint to concentrate but he hoped he managed to look at least somewhat sober and sane.
“I will pay you two-hundred dollars in cash right now if you come back with me and pretend you’re a friend I need to catch up with away from here.”
✘bb-jaxcalderon:
The gym had become Jaxon’s sanctuary. It was his happy place. He’d just gotten done recording this week’s video and he really couldn’t be bothered with editing, right at this minute. So, he packed his gym bag and headed to his home away from home. With his earbuds in, he started on the stair climber. He breezed through his warm-up and headed right into his usual routine. Before he’d realized it, nearly two hours had passed. Jaxon was sweating profusely and exhausted. He loved the burn that the gym gave him. He pulled out his earbuds and made his way to grab his post workout juice. Today; orange, carrot and ginger. He paid the cashier and turned to exit the gym. But leave to Jaxon to bump right into the person behind him, spilling his juice all over them. “Oh, fuck! I’m so sorry! I didn’t know there was anyone behind me. I have a spare shirt, if you want it. Wow, I’m such a klutz.” He groaned, cheeks taking on a pink tint.
Jaesuk was a reasonable man. Minor mistakes were nothing to cry about but sometimes people had their bad days and today-- today was a bad day. Being much smaller than the man that had run into him, Jaesuk caught himself before he said anything that would land him flat on his back; however, he couldn’t help the irritated gaze he shot at the other. The embarrassed tinge to the boy’s cheeks did something to quell his displeasure but it wasn’t enough to completely shake his irritation.
“You do realize your shirt would be a dress on me, correct?” Taking a deep breath, Jaesuk shut his eyes and used the end of his t-shirt to clean at least some of the mess from his face. He was going to need to shower all over again. One of the few things he hated was feeling unclean. He really didn’t want to but if he didn’t wear the other man’s clothes, he was going to have to walk out of here shirtless, considering wearing a sweat stained shirt was just as bad as a juice stained one. “But if that’s all you have, then I suppose I need it.”

hi again it’s jae introducing lee jaesuk. he’s a twenty-nine year old cardiologist at seunghoo medical centre who really is just super invested in his work. he’s a touch standoffish and very much a no bullshit kind of man. he prefers to get to the point as quickly as possible with social interactions but, get him talking about his interests and you’ll catch him on a tangent. you can read up on his bio here or just read through some of the basics here. i’m trying to get this man to open up a little so definitely like this post to let me know i can reach out to you to start plotting or just hmu on discord ( november#9558 ). i’ll be back once i’ve eaten!
