He’s a 8’0ft tall 25,000 year old pillar man with red hair, blue markings, six horns, multiple piercings, moles, and (light blue and brown eyes)heterochromia. He survived the massacre(earning the title ‘the boy who survived’).
His ethnicity is Nahual, Tehuelche/Mapuche, and Taino
His sexual/romantic orientation is Biromantic/Demisexual
He likes collecting small trinkets like bones, rocks, and flowers
He has a cold, detached, jaded, and huffy outward appearance when you first meet him but he is really a nice person and is very overprotective of his loved ones. He can also tend to be very temperamental and very emotional, he listens to his heart more than his head
He can control fire, blood and smoke(flame mode)(also alludes to some familial connections that will be important soon in this post)
His date of birth is December 27th, he’s a Capricorn

Ok now the really juicy meaty story stuff under the cut
We already discussed that Shiro survived the massacre, but this goes more in depth about it
Shiro is actually related by blood to someone very important to the storyline, he’s Esidisi’s son. Esidisi rescued Shiro as a baby.
In my storyline this is the only child hes ever had biologically(had with his late mate Florence who got killed off by Kars during the massacre ), their dynamic is similar to Mr Fox and Ash from Fantastic Mr Fox.
Shiro was an older brother figure to young Santana and Wamuu, as he was 13,000 years older than Wamuu around the time Battle Tendency would’ve taken place) and looked after them when Kars and Esidisi were preoccupied with something else.
Of course Esidisi wasn’t a perfect father and was just as mentally vulnerable as his own child due to the trauma he endured from the massacre so things went a little south in terms of parenting, basically being mentally detached from his own son sometimes. Shiro sort of resents his father to this day because of this. He’d never tell his son about his biological mother and would always dodge answering Shiro if he brought it up, he also wasn’t prepared to raise a child so things were rather tough for the both of them. He was honestly trying his best.
When Santana was left behind in Mexico and the other four crossed the Atlantic, Shiro was knocked off board due to the brewing storm causing the boat to rock violently. He almost drowned and froze to death and would’ve stayed down there if his father didn’t save him in time.
Kars had a more aggressive and tough love relationship with Shiro, using the vampire mask on him, getting into an argument and fighting each other in Ukraine during the pillars travels in Europe and Asia, Kars mostly resented Shiro because this was Florence’s offspring, someone whom trained alongside Kars during the olden days. He felt like Esidisi’s loyalty was threatened by Shiro’s presence.
Shiro always felt estranged by his own adoptive family, feeling like the black sheep.
Shiro isn’t even really his name, his birth name was Oleander(a reference to both the 1990’s American grunge band Oleander and the song by Mother Mother) before his father changing it to Shiro out of grief.
Shiro was left behind in Krakow, Poland by accident before the other three returned to Rome and fell dormant. The royal family confused him for a demon or dragon and they wanted him dead. This formed the myth we know now as the Krakow Dragon, he petrified in the Smoka Jama cave so he wouldn’t die from the hamon-infused sulphur in his system. They took one of his ribs as a trophy of triumph over the beast(Shiro).
Shiro always had a mistrust with human beings, considering all that he has been through and how most humans resent and outcast pillar men as demons and monsters.
He has frequent night terrors eluding to his experience falling in the Atlantic Ocean, as well as others.
Similar in fashion to Zagreus’s backstory in Hades, he wasn’t really supposed to born, he should’ve stayed a stillborn and froze to death. His mother Florence almost froze to death as well.
His own mode parallels that of his fathers, being more out of control, raw, and destructive, similar to that of a wildfire. Its a physical representation of desolation, rage, bloodlust, and passion.
No matter how hard he tries to be his own individual and lead his own path he always falls back into the footsteps of his dear father Esidisi. It makes him angry.
Misc information i missed
He has an anxiety tic inherited from his father where he’ll grab his upper arm
He can goose laugh
He chuffs as a sign of trust and affection, a behaviour seen exclusively in tigers(most pillar men do it, its natural)
He has perfect working tapetum lucidem in his eyes for optimal night vision( a common trait among pillar men)
He tends to eat a lot of weird and unconventional foods like beetles and other bugs, frogs, sometimes leftover kill from other predatory animals or even bears
He really likes music and art(id consider him to be a goth, punk or a metalhead)
Dont take him to the aquarium he will fight the fish
He likes tricking people and scaring them sometimes
He likes his hair being played with
He has a very very high metabolism rate so he needs to eat a lot, hes hungry most of the time

pillars have different adaptations depending on what environment they live in
the most common one you’ll see is mesoamerican pillar men; goat like horns, fairly tanned skin, and felid like bodily features.
arctic pillars are different, they’re actually the oldest and closest to their common ancestor; they tend to be paler, have seasonal antlers instead of horns, and are more bear like than feline like.
there have been rumours of pillar men in africa and asia but any that live there are outside of the radar.
In the museums we have seen different animals with wheels, since there were small ceramic figures with animal shapes and were used by children as “carts”. The animals that they used mainly were figures of puppies, the ocelotl, the coyotl or the Xolotl dog, made of different materials or of different types of stone with wheels to be able to move them. Although its main objective is fun, with this type of toys, the father or mother told their children about the animals that originated in ancient Mexico.
FROM TOP TO TOP
The origin of the top was given in the top, also called this game pepeteotl. There was also a toy that was a whistle in the shape of a dove that they called chichitli and that the children played a lot. Also the girls were given artifacts to play food as is the case today, however, they were made of stone like the molcajetes and used to “create” food for their dolls.
TOTOLOQUE
Pre-Hispanic games Some of the games that currently are almost not used by children but that our parents or we played at some time, were created in the prehispanic era, such is the case of “rayuela”, however, they called it “totoloque”. Some balls of gold or clay were thrown into a small container (tejuelos) in the distance, near the tejuelo were drawn some stripes; the one who succeeded in the “tejuelo” won or was closer to the line closest to the “tejuelo”.
THE BALL GAME “TLACHTLI”
The ball game, tlachtli, was played in a courtyard that had the shape of an “H” lying down. On both sides of the crossbar of the H the walls were extended and in the middle of each one a stone or wooden ring was inserted vertically, unlike the horizontal position of the hoop in the game of basketball that we know today. The players tried to pass through this ring a solid rubber ball, which could only be hit with their elbows, hips or legs.
MATATENA (PUPA)
Do you remember the matatena? It was another game that the children liked very much, its original name was mapepena, from nahuatl pepena (pick up) and maitl (hand), “pick up by hand” and that consisted of throwing a pebble in the air and with that same hand pick up the greater amount of pebbles and catch the one that had thrown into the air, all in a brief moment.
