Master Post on Ulta💄
Decided to share everything I know about Ulta. I was employed at this shithole for 4 months before I quit. Have at it.
SECURITY: Alright. So the Ulta I worked at never had LP. They might hire Security during busy holidays, Black Friday and so on, but the store where I worked relied solely on the employees to stop shrink and theft. We had to do special LP training. We are NOT allowed to ask to search somebody’s bag or purse. We are not allowed to imply directly that you stole something. If we see you put something in your bag, we can ask something like “I saw you looking at that Tarte Bloom Pallete! Can I suggest one of my favorite products to pair with it?” Basically my GM explained it like this. “Never accuse a guest of theft, be as kind and overly helpful as you can if you suspect something. Usually the thief will put back the stolen merchandise out of guilt if you kill them with customer service.” Now if we see you steal something and we are 100% sure, then we notify a manager, watch footage on cameras to confirm the theft, and then contact police. If you beep on the way out of our store and happen to have a SA stop you, or you make the mistake of stopping/turning around after you’ve beeped, they say something like “let me check your shopping bag to make sure we didn’t miss something!” If they check and you beep again you’re screwed. Moving on, our cameras seriously suck. The frame rates are awful. We can zoom but the quality is awful. There is usually a manager in the office but they rarely watch the cameras. Often they are organizing the back room or doing paperwork/scheduling. There are usually little tags stuck on expensive products. Super easy to peel off.
TIPS: 1. NEVER CONCEAL IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER. EVER. 2. DO NOT take products out of boxes and hide boxes in store. It’s seriously so stupid. We find them and put them in a box called Know Theft and go over tapes to see who placed it there. You’re always better off taking the whole box. 3. Because our frame rates are so low, it gives you the perfect opportunity to lift/conceal in the open, as long as you do it really quickly. Does this mean you should be careless and constantly conceal without blind spots? Heck no. Be careful not careless. 4. BLINDSPOTS are your friend! There are almost always blindspots in prestige haircare. If you can’t find one, create one with your body while facing away from the camera. 5. NEVER linger in one isle for too long. 6. DO NOT look around super obviously at cameras and SA’s. This is a sure sign you’re lifting. 7. DO NOT go from prestige to haircare to prestige and back again a gazillion times. This is another thing we are supposed to look for. 8. DO dress nice. Like you can afford to buy everything in the store. It’s bad, I know. But if I saw somebody dressed to the 9’s I never suspected them. If I saw three teenage girls I automatically suspected them. 9. If you carry an Ulta bag, and use this method to lift, make sure you put extra products you don’t want in them so if you ditch the bag, it doesn’t look sus. 10. A tip I’ve used lots of times to lift at Ulta’s. I would load up my bag with tons of products and take a couple to the front and bring a coupon with me. I knew it was expired or I knew it wouldn’t work on prestige products. I would bring my items up, give them the coupon, and when they told me it didn’t work I acted super bummed and told them I would wait to buy them and leave with my purse stashed. It gives you a way out without just leaving. 11. If you beep, keep going!! Don’t look back. 12. Park far away or out of sight of the store just in case. They will try to get your plate if suspected. 13. Try walking out at the same time as another person so if you beep it could have been either of you. Turn around and look at the other person and raise your eyebrows real suspicious like. 😂 14. Never take more then 20 minutes in a store when lifting. I always try to make a 10-15 minute lift or less. 15. Be NICE to SA’s. I was way less likely to sus a person that was friendly and sweet to me. Somebody that was rude or ignored me was someone I suspected more so. 16. If you see managers come from the back and SA’s check you out in the store or come up and ask you if you need help a ton, drop your shit and gtfo. Stash it somewhere in the store. Get out. Use common sense. If you get a bad feeling, trust your instincts. Seriously. 17. Don’t get too greedy. 18. If you can, try to life more on your body. Not so much in your purse. Hide in your bra, your waist band, your boots. It’s always safer. The first place somebody will look is your purse.
DISCLAIMER: The Ulta I worked out and the staff that works there might not be the same as the Ulta in your area. Always take caution and be careful. Scope it out and use common sense. Happy Lifting.
Hey guys! This is a method that I’ve never seen any posts on but that I like so I figured I’d make a video on it since someone asked for a video of how to conceal items.
This is nice because you kind of create your own blindspot. Obviously you don’t wanna do this out in the open but it’s nice for if you’re in an almost blind spot but there’s like one camera. This will block you. Or if no cameras can see you and you want to be extra careful that no people can.
In the first video you can kind of see the otter box drop into my purse. That’s not really supposed to happen but I wanted to show you guys it was actually going into my bag (:
You’re gonna want to practice at home with this one before trying it out in the field if you know what I mean 😂
This method can be used to conceal a number of things on floor but you’re going to want a thicker magazine since they’re less flimsy than the thinner ones.
Also, I hate how tiny the actual video gets when I edit using this app but I remember someone liked this song last time I used it and this app makes it easy to stitch clips together and whatnot. I hope you guys don’t mind. If you have any suggestions for a better video editor, by all means, tell me! I’ve tried so many and have not found “the one”.
Of course, let me know what y'all think and happy lifting
❤️your gay best friend❤️
beautiful method!!!! i cant wait to try this honestly
💕My Guide on Starbucks Walkout Seen a lot of people confused on how I do this, so I thought I’d make a little guide. Up above is what I usually have for lunch and manage with one walkout. I don’t get much but you could get a lot more if you wanted to, since I go so frequently I don’t.
First and foremost I’d like to say I DO NOT condone stealing from people, and all the drinks I take are remade when the person doesn’t receive them at the window, that is Starbucks policy and a previous worker has vouched for this fact in my first Starbucks post.
•I usually walk in when I know there will be a crowd, but I’ve done this at non-crowded Starbucks because I got lucky that a drink was already sitting there and no one was around.
•I usually linger in the store a little bit and look at stuff before I head to the drink counter so that I don’t directly beeline for the counter and they can see me clearly not order anything.
•I look for a drink that is on the counter and has not been claimed yet. I see this at almost every Starbucks I walk into, so the chances are pretty good. If there isn’t a drink diddle around for a bit and watch and then walk up after a minute or so. When a drink is put out, it’s a 50/50 for me: Is the drink owner about to claim it? Or will it sit there for a bit before I can pick it up, check the name, and pretend it’s mine? Wait for the latter obviously.
•When the perfect drink is just sitting there, take it. Don’t look around, wait a few seconds and then take it as it’s yours.
•For food or the drinks in the case, I usually wait until after I picked up my drink to look around casually. You can always head in, beeline for the food, and linger before walking out. Pick it up like you plan to buy it, then walk to another section where they sell the bags of coffee beans and such. Look around it for a bit, then walkout holding your food. I use this a lot when I don’t have time to wait for a drink to be made and available, as it takes only about two minutes.
There you go y'all! If you have any questions about what to do at a certain part, always hit up my ask. This is fairly easy and helps build up confidence for other walkouts, and you can use this method for other stores that sell drinks in cases out.
LIFTING TIP NO. 1 “If you are lifting lingerie, take the hangers as well. Not only will you leave behind less evidence, but you get to add hangers custom-made for holding lingerie to your wardrobe.” – The Comtesse de la Motte
A note on Ulta
From a previous haul of mine:
“I heard from a few people here that the manager at Ulta is the only one who looks at the cameras in the back room. I saw a guy on the floor looking really official and shit. I said, “are you the manager, you look official!” He said yes so I wasn’t as worried about being seen on camera. I had my back to the camera when I concealed so hopefully my body blocked it anyway! I concealed all 4 items at once then immediately left.”
This was a couple weeks ago. Since then, I went to Ulta again and I asked a manager if the manager was there. She said “which one?” duhhhhh how stupid of me!?
So if you see a manager on the floor, it doesn’t mean you have free reign to go concealing willy-nilly because there could be another manager in the back watching the cams!
Tip!!
This will probably be impossible but finding this makes me kind of want to make my own hook. Or at least try to make one.
@anon who asked me 💞
Posting this to remind myself and others:
stealing isn’t a competition
i reblog this every time i see it
Shit
Does anyone have tips on how to chill the fuck out? I would lift 24/7 if i could, like even if i got out and lift every single item i planned too , im never satisfied. Its annoying? Its never enough? I could lift the white house and then be like “so where to next?”
The same happens to me… this morning I went lifting and now I’m like well where do I steal from this afternoon. It’s kind of scary because I can feel myself being reckless not with getting caught but with being caught in this. I’m like bitch you know how addictions work why the fuck are u doing this to yourself.
I guess it has to be seen and treated as any other addiction? Idk tho
Take a long break
Sorry for the iphone filming but its the only thing i have :/ anyway a vid on how to remove gator tags since ive seen a lot of the community having trouble w them. I’m not responsible for anything that comes bc of this video and this is strictly for educational purposes only
In honor of all the funny gator tag messages in my inbox lmao
Safeway
My boyfriend works at Safeway and he’s never even heard of an LP there. They barely have any cameras too. Not like they would tell a cashier if they did have an LP but I thought it might be helpful.
THANK YOU
Yes!!! I worked at one of safeways regional stores and they had no lp at all either and sooo many blindspots ✨ safeways and all the other stores it owns are the best places to lift groceries!!!
I knew someone who worked there (a manager) and they talked about shoplifters all the time! this person RAN OUT OF THE STORE to catch them!
Shit yeah I guess it all depends on location yall 😩
I’m dead tired and don’t feel like organizing all this right now but I wasn’t kidding.
WHAT IS THIS LIFE?
I'm DEAD 😭😭😭
So you want to lift from Michaels...
As a (finally) former Replenishment Associate/Sales Associate/Head Cashier of the highest shrink Michael’s Arts & Crafts in our district, here is everything you need to know and probably more:
Our store didn’t even have towers.
If our Instax Mini’s (which are locked up) or film (which are behind little red locks that you can use a magnet on) were source tagged, nothing would beep.
Choose your time of day wisely.
Of course, weekend nights are a lot busier and our store in particular, for whatever reason, was always understaffed. There would be 1 Framer, 1-2 SA, 1 Cashier, 1 MOD. Mid-day always has the most associates.
I recommend the morning: it’s slow, we’re trying to get our own projects done, we’re probably still sleepy.
I do not recommend before closing, as all of the employees are running around the store trying to get shit done so we can go home.
Our Copic markers are at the front in the queue line and our Prismacolor stuff is in our Fine Arts section, both of which are heavily monitored. This brings me to:
Our cameras (that actually record and can be rewound in store) don’t pan around and zoom.
Sections recorded: entrance, front registers, jewelry, fine art, receiving (”the back”/employees only), stickers, cash office.
No one is actively watching the camera monitors. If we’re bored and lazy, we’ll sit and watch, and it’s somehow hypnotizing.
I recommend concealing while walking along the outermost walls of the store, basket aisle, clearance aisle, seasonal, and if you’re ballsy- the classroom.
Don’t go to the bathroom, at least ours is next to the frame shop, aka someone gon’ see you walk in with merch.
We find empty boxes all the time. We don’t ever look more into it.
The empty box goes in receiving to get damaged out and thrown away. Ditch em in the clearance aisles if they’re too bulky.
No designated LP person. I used to joke with customers that I was LP and I don’t feel like tackling you today, but really. In all of the time I was there, we had ONE LP guy come in to creep on us and customers.
I’ve sat in the office and watched a woman rip pegs off the wall, dump a wall of strung beads into her bag, and leave the store in less than 2 minutes. We were more impressed than anything tbh.
We cannot confront you, even if we watched you put it in your bag.
We can only customer service you to death and be mildly passive aggressive.
We won’t chase you down, but the MOD will fill out a report if you were seen on camera.
***If you are caught on camera, a screen cap of you and description of the incident will be emailed to every store in the district.
Park further away y’all.
Our parking lot was shared with four other stores (the “mall” was an outdoor shopping center)
When I first started working there, my manager told me to park within 8 spots from the front because that was the limit of the cameras.
Returns/Exchanges
So you lifted something from a different store and Michaels carries the exact same one…
If you return something without a receipt, we will give you the lowest price the item has been in the past 90 days, in store credit.
We also need a valid driver’s license so the (national) system will track how often you do non-receipted returns.
If you go up to the register with random, high value items in a non-receipted return transaction (like one expensive brush, one expensive tube of paint, and a pair of jewelry pliers all at once), we have to call an MOD.
If your total refund for a non-receipted return purchase is over $100, the system will prompt for a manager override.
Cash and debit receipted return transactions will be refunded as cash. I had a coworker who would keep these receipts from people who wanted them thrown out, do the return himself, and pocket the cash.
If, for whatever reason, you have a fake traveler’s check, try cashing it in here.
Because we do them so infrequently, I had a manager take it for me, and it turned out she took an apparently fake traveler’s check and didn’t even know.
However, pls don’t use counterfeit bills here. If we get too many in X amount of time, the Operations Manager will get fired.
So you actually want to buy something?
Still apprehensive to conceal in your bag? We are supposed to look to make sure you’ve got all of the items out of the buggy, we are supposed to look inside baskets and boxes, and underneath the liner of baskets. Conceal little items underneath your bag, that is sitting in the child seat of the cart.
50% one regular priced item (with exclusions): 400100719008 is the barcode number. You can ask the cashier to type this in, in “item entry.” It will always work, regardless of what coupon is out that week,
Our employee discount is 30% off your purchase, including sale items (with exclusions): 400100451588.
Is the line too long and the framing counter is open? Be really nice and you can check out there.
Pls be nice to the cashier and don’t ask to make eight separate transactions for eight of the same coupon with the same method of payment. While lifting doesn’t directly affect my paycheck, this coupon policy abuse shit does. if the store doesn’t meet projected goals, we get less hours, which means I have less money to put in my gas tank.
Am I missing something? Ask!
Cheers to my first post after creeping the community for a week, but lifting for like 8 years. Be safe shrimps.

DONT YOU KNOW KOREAN oh snap
Do not believe other bloggers when they say to ignore the barcodes and that barcodes don’t have RFID tags. A lot of the new tags do have them and they will set off alarms.
