it amazes me how people still think fiction doesn’t affect reality when about 90% of us ran like naruto without a second thought just because we saw him do it and thought it was cool

a less heartwarming reflection (but with a silver lining in the end nonetheless): I’m gonna sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I feel like making people believe that fiction doesn’t affect reality (no nuances. Just this statement) = making them think they are immune to propaganda.

Because if fiction doesn’t affect reality, why does propaganda art exist in every single totalitarian regime in history (and it worked)? Why does censorship exist there? Why are tyrants afraid of certain books? Is it because they can’t distinguish reality from fiction? NO, DAMN, it’s because they know that art can convey ideas and make people think in a certain way… and seek freedom and a better life, for example
