I meant to tell you guys the other day, after it happened, but it's been so hectic and mind-boggling that I haven't really been able to process it. I came out to my family. The weight that's been lifted off my conscience is impossible to put into words. However, not all is well; they do not accept this lifestyle, at all. I've been told things such as "You have killed us all, and you don't even care." "As much as you think you were born this way, you did make a choice to succumb to a sinful lifestyle." I'm no longer welcome at Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. but at least they're giving me my car; but insurance is now my deal. Even though things are far from perfect, I still have hope. I'm moving to Chapel Hill with my boyfriend in July, as he was accepted into UNC's Dental School. I'm so very proud of his achievement, (the program is ranked top 5 in the nation, and top 10 in the world.) Without him, I honestly think I would have killed myself if I'd continued living at home. I'm so very lucky to have someone as strong, mature, and witty to embark on this adventure with. My friends and coworkers have been an integral part of my success. You have been my therapists, moms, my brothers and sisters; our conversations have enlightened and changed me more than you will ever know. Lastly, (and it's time she did have some credit,) my sister. Even though we resented each other growing up, and for a long while, we've been apart; your openness is much appreciated. As I move to Chapel Hill to begin the next chapter in my life, I look forward to getting to let you know the real me. Of course, I couldn't forget you guys; my followers. Some of you have seen me through nearly 7 years of ramblings, and I've got to say thank you. I've always been able to express my true nature on this blog, an invaluable outlet during my time at home. Cheers, - csw
