i love the way ghosts does death stories, cause like, you know that theyre going to die, and you know mostly how theyre going to die, but you dont know all the details and how it REALLY happened if you get me? like you know that they end up getting shot or with an arrow in their neck or whatever but what you dont know is the events leading up to that and the context and stuff. and i think thats what made humphreys death scene so perfect, we knew he would get beheaded, and everything was implying that he was executed on the spot by a guard (i mean we’re literally told that), but then when his actual death happens its so quick and unexpected and just. a great plot twist yk. literally so good and not expected at all. even with the ones that are expected, like pats death - you know whats going to happen as soon as he hands out the bows and arrows, but its just a matter of when and how really? so when it does happen youre still taken by surprise because its still sudden, which i guess also captures the characters’ feelings as well surrounding their deaths as pretty much every death we know of was sudden and unexpected. god i love this show
