New Bakugaiden IV Figures at Anime Expo 2025
Announced earlier this year, a new line of figures for the White Blows, Blue Braver, and Yellow Crusher were spotted by our local translator minion at Toyrise's booth at Anime Expo:
The VAs for Shirobon (Houko Kuwashima**), Aobon (Etsuko Kozakura), and Kiirobon (Mitsuaki Madono) were also brought back recently for short commercials promoting their respective figures. Check the YouTube links below:
⚪️ Shiro
🔵 Ao
🟡 Kiiro
Unlike almost everything else at this booth, these figures are not currently open for pre-orders at the con. Various online retailers/stockists like AmiAmi do have the figures listed for pre-order, with release dates set for this fall.
A Toyrise representative said that while there are plans to release a figure for Kurobon's mech eventually, plans for additional Bakugaiden toys or other merchandise are unknown. The representative also said these figures are unlikely to be released outside of Japan, so rev those order proxies if you're looking to snag a set (because this is like potato chips, you can't have just one).

**Nerd remarks from local translator minion on Kuwashima: "She's a voice acting vet, but Shiro's voice is one I've never heard her use in another performance." Shirobon was one of Kuwashima's very first VA credits: Houko Kuwashima @ Wikipedia
The Bakugaiden V English Fansubs Are Out!
You better V-lieve it, y'all — English fansubs for Bomberman B-Daman Bakugaiden V have finally arrived on these digital shores!
DOWNLOADS: Archive.org Filen
STREAMING: Dailymotion Odysee
(Note that the Dailymotion playlist is not quite complete yet as of this post due to DM's restrictions on number of video uploads per day, but it looks like it's up to episode 41 at least. Also, if I borked the links here for whatever reason, you can find them here on BombermanBoard.)
Once again, we cannot thank Steamy Jimmy/legato and Yume enough for doing the Angel's work in bringing the Bakugaiden series to the English-speaking world! The fansubs for both series are the product of years of work as well as a valuable contribution to the history of Bomberman fandom. With all the authority invested in me which isn't much at all I must insist that everyone kneel in deference to these esteemed personages.
As for what's next after these monumental achievements, their plans include translating the 5 Bakugaiden manga volumes as well as going back to re-timing Bakugaiden IV since the HQ episodes dropped after the fansubs did. So have no fear: there's still more obscure 90s-kids-anime-based-roughly-on-a-video-game-and-toy-series content to come. Eventually. (And it's a miracle that "eventually" is even a possibility with material like this.)
"But that's going to take foreeeeeeverrrrrr!" you might be whining forlornly to yourself. "How am I supposed to feed my Bakugaiden fixation in the meantime?"
Okay, you probably didn't whine that (or otherwise express any such sentiment), but regardless there's a Bakugaiden Discord out there for anyone who's looking for bakuguys to talk shop with. (Note that I'm not a part of this server myself and don't personally know anyone there — I just figured I should pass the info along now that more folks will actually be able to discuss this shit for once.) Be nice and have a ball.
And remember, kids: ACAB (All Cops Are B-Da).
Bakugaiden IV & V Available For Streaming on Amazon.co.jp Prime
The streamdream continues with both Bakugaiden series now available for streaming on Amazon Prime's Japanese site.
As with the other recent streaming arrangements, however, this is Japan-only (and it looks like this may also require an additional subscription to watch, which is just insert bafflement about the state of the streaming industry these days but anyway). Still, for the record (and on the off-chance that someone can find utility from this), the links are below.
Bakugaiden IV
Bakugaiden V
Thanks to legato from BombermanBoard (formerly SteamyJimmy on YouTube) for the tip, who also announced that Bakugaiden V has hit the halfway point in the translation process. Yay!
(Postscript from the Administrasora: I apologize if occasionally you see non-Bakugaiden content on this blog. BTMND is a sideblog of Bomber Base and sometimes I don't realize what account is active when doing my usual trawling of the bombertag.)
Bakugaiden IV & V Available For Streaming (Japan Only)
Well, this would explain why the subs got nuked earlier this year. It seems that both Bakugaiden series are now available for streaming on d-anime Store (dアニメストア).
[Source.]
d-anime Store is a streaming service owned by Japanese mobile phone service Docomo. For ¥550/month, users can watch current anime episodes 24 hours after initial airing as well as older series. The site offers a free trial period, but signing up requires a Japanese phone number, so streaming Bakugaiden is pretty much locked to Japan for now. No indication yet of what this means for future Bakugaiden news.
BTMND's resident translator, Sakaki, has additional commentary on the site formerly known as Twitter.
EDIT: Looks like both series are also being streamed on several other Japanese sites, partly to commemorate the 25th anniversary of IV:

Bakugaiden IV — English Subs by Steamy Jimmy and Yume
Probably a fair amount of you following this blog have heard this by now, but Bakugaiden IV has been fully subbed by Steamy Jimmy (legato on BombermanBoard if any of y'all hang out there) with the help of Yume! Never thought I'd see the day, but if anyone would've done it I'm not surprised it was him. Find the YouTube playlist here.
NOTE #1: As of this writing, only 44 out of the 48 eps are up. As explained here on BombermanBoard, this was done to give people a chance to watch the series and then enjoy the last 4 episodes together with others during a watch party.
NOTE #2: There are plans to sub Bakugaiden V as well, but it seems like we won't see that until 2025 or so.
Just a heads-up in case you're not yet aware — Steamy Jimmy/legato's YouTube channel has unfortunately been nuked and is likely not coming back. The accompanying Internet Archive links (which included subs for a lot of extra material) have also been taken down.
In the meantime, the subs for the IV anime (not including the extras) can be found here on Google Drive and the raws here on Internet Archive. The raws for V are here for anyone who's curious. (Note that we're not the one responsible for those links.)

Pet Snake Announcement
Hello, B-dafans! It’s your probably-carpal-tunneled neighborhood Sora here.
As you undoubtedly have noticed, this blog’s screencaps have reached the end of IV! What’s next?
Well, first I need to take a bit of a break. To relax? Nah, that’s for people who have working brains. No, I want to focus on the other Bombermanime series that’s out there. (If you want to be around for when that particular project bears explosive fruit, be sure to follow Bombermanga if you aren’t already.) After that, though, I do have some gifs to share with y’all, and eventually I’d like to tackle screencaps from V once Bomber D. Rufi finishes livetweeting that.
After all that...who knows? There are certainly things that could B-done, but it depends on a lot of factors. In any case, thanks for hanging around and appreciating this underappreciated gem!
And a “thank you” wouldn’t be complete at this blog without the appropriate gif to accompany it.
EDIT: Ooooor Tumblr could just be dumb about my gif. THAT’S FINE TOO.
