Long time no see, Tumblr. Sad to say I haven't been investing much time in any serious artwork in some time, but more recently have been trying something new. Got my self a New 3DS with the switchable cover plates, and man, what a wonderful idea. After picking one up and seeing how easy it is to switch them out and then being disappointed with the variety of face plates on the market, I knew I had to paint my own. Obviously inspired by Oskunk's custom Charizard Gameboy, I wanted to try painting a faceplate of my own in similar style. Considering it was my first time using poscart paint markers, I'm reasonably happy with the outcome. I wish I had bought the finer tipped markers to start with to help with finer lines and colouring in small spaces, but I made do with what I had on hand and am pretty happy with the final product, despite a few imperfections.

Dragoon Seraph, based on /u/Drazelic’s Mobile Frame Zero deisgn originally created from lego and posted on /r/mfz. Very cool to have a literal model to work on with base proportions and literal building blocks to to use as a base before making it a little more cartoonish.

verrrrrry quick one. The idea of Falcon taking captain america’s role in the latest avengers comics excites me. I should read more comics.

fatbat.  The latest trailer for Batman vs Superman; DOJ has me pumped as. And the inclusion of batman’s armor from Dark Knight Returns is just great.  Look at me, pretending to know what I’m talking about depsite not caring much for Batman. Nonetheless, this was good fun to draw. No references, so more just my own take on a similar armor I suppose.  And hey, it fits in (to an extent) with /r/sketchdaily’s current theme “Wings”. ...Bats have wings, right?

Watched Age of Ultron last night. Loved it. Saw Iron Man’s new armour on the cover of The All New, All Different Avengers. Loved it. So yup! 1 Layer sketch to satisfy my need for more Marvel in my life.

Although they’ll never look clean and finished, I do enjoy submitting the one layer drawings; They just feel that much more.. real. You can see where I started, and every step I took. I like that, the fact that there’s nothing to hide behind.
